  1. Hi, Can you provide some more information on Dr Aceves? Cost, finanancing, overall experience getting it done, etc? If my insurance denies me and I have to pay out of pocket maybe this way is less expensive? I dont speak much spanish does the clinic speak English? I go to Baja all the time, but only once to Mexicali on the way to San Filepi. thanks, e
  2. I'm afraid if i introduce myself i will jinx myself. basically they are just submitting to insurance. Might take a week to know if i am approved. We are already talking an early march date. I just dont want to be disappointed or go into massive debt. sigh. What i am nervious about is there seems to be a lot of documented disappointment over the lapband if not immediately over a period of time. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/rny/3841668/Anyone-wish-they-had-Lap-Band-instead/ Weight usually falls off me when i try so i think restriction will be enough. Uhg. my BMI is only 35 and i have severe sleep apnea. praying i'll be approved. anyway. im babbling. thanks, e
  3. looks like im going with Dr. Coon in Riverside Ca. Anyone have any feedback? I met him first day in person. Small comfy happy office. thoughts?
  4. My understanding is the doctors role is to confirm you are healthy enough to have it done. At least in my case that what I was told. I got my cert letter from my doc on Tuesday and it was very short and basically confirmed I am healthy. this was for the insurance company. Maybe yours is needed for a different reason?
  5. Assuming no complications and assuming i dont have to be cut open... how soon can I go back to work? Let me clarify...I work from home, on a laptop from my Sofa (I wonder if this has something to do with my Phattyness haha). My plan is get surgury on a weds, then start working from the sofa or even bed by Monday. Am I being realistic?
  6. When I get this done I want to fully naked..no gown. Hopefully I can video tape it too. I just want to see the look on everyones face haha.
  7. I'm in my precert phase with Dr. Coon. I see these post are about a month old now. Any more Doc Coon feedback? So far (1 visit) I like him. I'm not worried about Lq diets post op because I go on them for fun as part of my regular failed diet attemps.
  8. You are losing nothing? Here is some simple math.... multiply your weight by 10 (women) or 11 (man). This is how many calories you are absorbing on average each day. This math is a basic guidline and doesnt matter if you have a band or are on Jenny Craig! What number did you come up with? Track your calories and see if the number is about right. If you are eating way less calaries. then either you are not counting them correctly or you have a medical condition like a thyroid problem or whatever. Weight loss is simple math. Less calories = Lose weight.. if you are not losing then you are still absorbing the same calaries. Eitherway that has nothing to do with the Band.
