A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
Thanks Angela. I feel like I'm stuck in a week from hell. My mind has completely left me - I feel like I can't remember anything. Honestly, I feel like my brain is completely dead and can't hold a charge even if I try recharging. I missed my appt with Sabapathy this afternoon - I forgot! Unbelievable. I'm a 22 right now, which means I'm wearing a bunch of clothes I bought like 2-3 years ago.

I haven't received it yet, so I can always see. And I'll definitely ask next Friday at my fill. Currently, both. I will be back here to visit family, but I also have set up a fill dr. in NO just in case. I wanted to make sure I had someone down there in case I really needed a fill/unfill.

Can they change that retroactively though? I mean I had surgery and signed a thing saying that I would have free fills for a year.

Thanks Robyn! I'm sorry to hear about your port. Is insurance covering all these? Or is Hoehn cutting a deal with you? Unbelievable. At least through all the problems, you have still lost weight. I'm so excited for support group Thursday. I kept confusing 4th Thursday of month w/ Last thursday of month. Holli e-mailed me, I'm totally down for coffee or whatever. It'll be nicer than just standing around conference room a or the hallway It's been a stressful time lately, it'll be good to just be able to relax with some Hoehnites (Hoehnanians? Hoehnsters? Hoehnans?) I'm definitely looking forward to it. When's the surgery?

Emotional Overeating
So I've been having an emotional, difficult week. First, I have been hanging out with an old h.s. friend. She and I had a big falling out 4 years ago (basically at the worst time of my life, my dad had a stroke, I was diagnosed with PCOS, and I had a big fight with all, literally all, of my high school friends). She was back in town because her dad died, and we reconciled. Even though it was wonderful hanging out again and everything is resolved, it still obviously brought up lots of emotions. Secondly, about 2 weeks ago my mom had an abnormal mammogram. She had cervical cancer about 15 years ago, so they watch her pretty closely still. It's really small, it's not even a lump, and it can only be seen on a magnified mammogram. But they did a biopsy this week and we're waiting to hear. I'm trying to just not worry about it, but that doesn't really help me from pushing it back with food. Third, I'm moving in about a month. I have an apartment, but am having a hard time finding a job. I'm worried about money, health insurance, my car, unknown expenses. I'm excited to move, but scared. And I don't have proper restriction. My fill is next week, so that will help. I am also seeing my psychologist this week, and have a support group meeting next Thursday. I'm doing okay still. I mean, I'm not eating carbs still, I am still exercising every day. But I find myself snacking, grazing, eating 4-6 meals a day. I am trying to keep myself in check, but it is hard when I am trying to also keep all these other emotions in check. For me, my biggest trigger for compulsive overeating is feeling emotional/overwhelmed/lonely. Unfortunately, this is not an emotion that comes and goes for me. If I am feeling this way, I usually feel it all day. It's a hard funk to pull myself out of. I'm still making myself go through my daily routines, but I am still having a hard time. Support? Ideas? Thanks you guys...

Hey Guys
I think you should switch to 3 meals of solids, instead of protein drinks all day. They will keep you full longer. Start journaling your food and count your protein, carbs, calories, etc.

Change in attitude towards appearance?
I'm six weeks out. I've whitened my teeth, highlighted my hair, shaved my legs, enjoyed clothes more, worn more jewelry, worn makeup more consistently. You feel better about yourself and you celebrate it

Frustrated and TICKED Off!!! - Question about Scales
This is my scale: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_10/602-9747392-2389428?%5Fencoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B00064NKDE I can step on it 3 times and get the same weight. It was $30. And when I go to the doctor's office, it is usually within 1-3 lbs. of this weight (which makes sense, clothes, food/drink, etc.).

Thanks lins  I'm still a newbie, so I'm milking these first few months as much as possible. Yesterday was my six-week bandiversary :grouphug: Congrats on kick-starting your WL again.

If it were up to you, what laws would you create?
With the burden of public safety... I can budge. But marijuana shouldn't count, because it can stay in your system for up to a month.

I am starting to wonder about my choice.
I found my surgeon's office gained a lot more interest when I finished my requirements. They even have different phone numbers for prospective patiens and actual patients. I just imagine that they are flooded with questions from prospectives, and they really need to focus on their patients.

If it were up to you, what laws would you create?
Prospective employers can't drug test unless the applicant is applying for job which will require contact with drugs (police officer, etc.). Current employers can only drug test if there is a burden of proof that drug abuse is a problem for an employee.

Visualize your goals
True, none of the models are going to have the body problems MO or formerly MO people have. But I think that some MO people like me, who haven't seen a normal size since adolescence, have a hard time picturing themselves as such. It helps me realize that it does make a difference - even with stretch marks

Visualize your goals
One way I try to keep myself pumped is to try go on a website for my virtual model and see what I will look like (more or less) at certain points. Here's two of my total side-by-sides: You can make a virtual model by going to one of these sites: http://www.mvm.com/en/index.htm The top one is from glamour, the bottom one is from prevention
