  1. Hello All. I was banded April 16, 2009 and have lost 127 lbs so far. Yay! But lately I have been having so much restriction that I cant keep keep anything I eat or drink down. Even if i drink in really small sips. I believe my fill was only 2cc's but that was last june. So it's been over a year. I would think that I would be losing restriction but its just really bad. Does this sound like a slip or being too tight? Thank you for your thoughts!
  2. elcee, thank you for your reply. the last time i had a fill was in june of last year. so its been a very long time. I would think that the fill would be gone by now...? im not sure. I lost my medical insurance for a while and wasnt able to see a doctor until now. Im making an appt for next week. Im just confused on what to do. The last thing i want to do is gain the weight back! but being in pain all the time is no fun either : (
  3. Hello All: I had my band put in last April and have lost 127 pounds. I am very happy with my weight loss at this point and feel like I have learned the tools to do it alone. After getting banded I have horrible heartburn and acid reflux. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if having the band removed would help or cure the problem. It is very hurtful and i've tried every medacine OTC and prescribed by doctors. It seems they work for a month but then stop. So my questions: Would removal help? Has anyone had their band removed and still been successful after removal? Thank you in advance any help is appreciated!!
  4. Thank you for this info, that makes sense. I do go into see my doc on the 12th for a fill. Im sure i will know more then. If i feel worse or if the pain progresses I will be sure to call before then. Thank you!!!
  5. Hi All: I have been banded since April 16th, never had any pain just sorness with the surgery. For the past few days i have been getting sharp pains in my left side, i think where the port may be. If the port was flipped would it be painful? I know i should call doc just wanted to see what you all thought. Thank you!
  6. Thanks to the both of you! I dont normally over eat any more. I had treated my daughter and I to some chinease and it just was the best thing I ever ate after being on liquids and mushies for so long!
  7. Hello All, I was wondering...If you eat and feel full but still continue to eat, will that cause slipage of the band? I caught myself overeating the other day, I felt full but kept eating cuz it was so gooood. But when I think about it being able to fit into a size 12 will be much better than anything that I can ever eat! Sorry for rambling on and on, just typing out loud!
  8. Hello! I was banded on April 16th. Have lost 20 pounds so far. Dr. Stan Rogers at UCSF of San Francisco did my surgery. Him and his staff were awesome! I feel great. Exersizing is now fun because I know it's going to pay off sooner than later!!!! good luck!!!
  9. Hello All, I am due to have my surgery in 2 days!!! YAY I read a lot about people on here having 2 weeks of liquid diet before hand. But my doctor is only having me on liquids the day before. Is this weird or not normal? I thought you are supposed to be on the liquids for your liver to shrink or something....im just confused. It is kind of making me nervous. Any thoughts? Thank you!
  10. Great, thanks! I am having my surgery on the 16th. Do you know how long after I have surgery can I start using them?
  11. What kind of strip did you get for the incisions? Thanks for the info!
  12. Good luck to you DottieDoo, Im getting banded on the 16th. So excited and nervous at the same time. I wish you all the best.
  13. I called all the time. No Joke. I called 3 days after they put in the request and every 2-3 days from then till I got the approval. Whoever squeaks the loudest get's the oil the fastest! Call, and call. It's there job to keep you updated. And the more you bug them, in a nice way the faster they will get you off their approval list! Good luck! My surgery is April 16th.
  14. I am going to be banded on April 30th, and let me tell you that date can't come quick enough for me! Im so ready to do it now. I will be banded at UCSF in San Francisco, CA By Dr. Rogers. Good luck to you!
