  1. Thanks for the good advice, Jachut! I did have one serving each of the chips and valentine hearts, so I kept it under control. The problem is having the stuff in the house. I'll send it to work with my husband tomorrow. And, come hell or high water, I'm going to stick to my pre-surgery diet!
  2. With my upcoming surgery on March 10, I am currently experiencing what we in Weight Watchers used to call "Last Super Syndrome"--the urge to eat anything and everything that will be forbidden once the diet starts. Yesterday I went to the store and bought chips and Valentine's hearts. I am thinking that I'll have to get a double cheeseburger one of these days... It's really dumb! Does anyone else feel that way? I am also afraid that I won't be able to stick to the liquids only diet. I have failed at dieting so many times. Help!
  3. Hi! Glad to know that people all over are going in for this. I'm wondering how open you've been about the surgery with your friends and family. I've told my husband and son of course, but haven't told any other friends and family. Is it because I'm ashamed to have to do it? Maybe a little. I heard someone say that it was "taking the easy way out." I don't feel that way! I've lost so many pounds only to always gain them back. I really hope this will be my last battle with weight loss.
  4. Thanks for the reply. I am wishing that I didn't have to wait another month. As of right now, with two weeks until the liquid diet, I'm experiencing the "Last Supper Syndrome". I keep thinking, well after the surgery I won't be able to eat this or that, so I'd better eat it now! So I went to the grocery store and bought chips and valentine's candiy. Really dumb! After a serving of each, I was satisfied, but the danger is having the stuff in the house. Anyone else out there get the urge to eat everything just before the surgery?
  5. Hi and thanks for the link to this group. Has anyone out there started the liquid diet yet? I'll start on Feb 24 and wonder how hard it is and how hungry you get. After waiting 10 months to go through the insurance approval steps, sleep apnea study, etc. I'm really anxious to get this show on the road. I'd like to hear from anyone in SW Mich. who may be having surgery at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
  6. Lapbanders from Kalamazoo? Will have my surgery March 10th with Dr. Saber. Would like to hear from others who've had their procedures at Bronson Hospital. Laweezmi
  7. My first post, but I have been in the process for over 10 months. When the nurse called to tell me yesterday, she used those words,"your new birthday is.." I hadn't heard that before and it really got me psyched. Anybody out there in West Mich who has already had lapband or is about to have it like me? I have a lot of questions and have been looking over the forum for a few weeks. Thanks everyone! There is so much info and practical tips available. I'll be having my procedure at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. I know it's usual to get wary just before the surgery, but is there anyone who really REGRETS having had this? If so, why? I hope to hear from you. Laura S.
