  1. Still very gassy and hurting... not as bad with the pain meds now though. I am just forcing myself to take them no batter how bad the taste is.
  2. Yeah sounds like mine. For a week it's liquids but not just clear. I can have liquid yogurt, cream soups strained first, etc.
  3. No you are just choosing to be rude to me and not her. Your posts are rude. Come now.
  4. Can you show me an example of what you are eating everyday. I am pretty much a pro at lowcarbing and can really help you if you want the help! Thanks!
  5. My husband is at the store going to get me some now!! I had my surgery yesterday as well and the gas is getting to me badly! Far worse then the incisions (I can't feel those since I have a little pump thing putting meds to them continually).
  6. I bought a case of them at the local health food store before my surgery (was banded yesterday) and they are pretty darn good. They have like 42 grams of Protein in each one. I drink half in the morning and half at lunch. I like the orange better than the fruit punch, fyi. The health food store let me put a variety of them in the box. Haven't tried the grape or berry ones yet but will let you know when I do. Even if they were nasty it's only 3.4 ounces in each one so I am shoot them back and hold my nose if the other flavors are icky.
  7. Well that is your opinion. We all have one.
  8. I am going to have to do this. I've been doing what you said... chasing the pain. I hate the way that liquid stuff tastes so I try not to take it but this pain is just killing me!! Why can't you get enough fluids? I was surprised how much I can put back. I can drink a 20 oz. water no problem at all!!
  9. Could not agree more!!!!!
  10. Hope this helps you. I don't know much about how much is too much as I've only been banded one day, but if it works for ya great.
  11. Thanks for posting this!! I was banded yesterday 12/9 and am in horrible pain. I think it's gas. It hurts really bad, like BADDDD. I can't get away from the pain. Sometimes if I lean to the right a bit I get relief. I am scared to let gas out when I feel it coming because of the lovely loose stools (TMI I KNOW) because of all the liquids only so I get up and go to the bathroom and by then the urge to release gas is gone. It's making me crazyyy!
  12. In my case it was really nothing. It was just a way for that person to make money, seriously. She asked such boring questions and anyone could have made it through with that lady doing it.
  13. I hate that, I hate pantyhose period though. Get them big enough for the thighs and gut then you have wrinkles galore at the ankles!!
  14. Well as an American I don't think OUR health system is messed up like you do, as a previous poster stated - half around the world. What is messed up are those people who instead of paying for insurance they buy everything else themselves (beer, cigarettes, etc) and then expect the govt to foot the bill when they get sick. When if they'd just do without a little they could pay for insurance themselves. There are cases where that IS NOT the case, of course. I have a disabled parent who absolutely would love to be able to work and pay their own way but it's impossible. That's the kind that deserve the help, not the moochers. But I do see way too often people doing just exactly what I stated before. Cheating the system is what it's called. When I was 184 I didn't feel obese at all. Overweight, yes. I didn't have trouble finding clothing. I know every body is different though and I am well proportioned and wore the weight well. No one would have guessed that I weighed that much ever. I always stumped the Six Flags weight guessers. I don't know about the others but all my weight gain has been through pregnancies. I never gain when I am not pregnant. I can eat and eat and never gain when not pregnant. But once the weight is there, it just stays there after pregnancy. I don't understand it either. I can, and have, lost weight lowcarbing though. It works great, but then when I stopped lowcaring and tried to do maintenance the weight came back and stopped again right at my highest weight. It's like my body has a stopping point or something as far as weight goes. Wish that stopping point was MUCH lower though. Even at my highest I stayed there eating whatever I wanted. Something goes nuts when I am pregnant though. I eat exactly as before and at the end even less because there simply isn't room left for a lot of food and gain like crazy. My dr. says it's the huge hormonal change. I am sure I've been pretty blunt in my posts. I won't edit them because that seems cowardly but I do want to say that the pain I am in from my surgery yesterday has made me hell on wheels (my husband said this) to everyone. I still say it's crazy to complain about LOSING weight when you are cramming cookie dough down your throat.
  15. Apparently I am not the only one that is deciding this. Medicare agrees with me. Hmmph.
  16. Well I think the best thing would be for her to pay for her own insurance. That would solve the whole tax dollars thing. Usually if someone can afford fertility treatments (which isn't covered by Medicare) they surely could afford insurance of their own.
  17. Wow you are losing weight great. You probably were able to eat it all because you did so slowly? Probably chewed it up better than you ever had before surgery? I don't know, I am new to this.
  18. I am on liquids for a week then mushies for two weeks and then to regular foods.
  19. Yes it's silly. Yes it's a crime. No you don't have insurance - what you have is Medicare, aka tax dollars.
  20. I am her same height and at 184 I looked and felt great. I would never ever had even thought about surgery at that size. She's actually losing weight and upset about it? What? Come on, this is ridiculous and you have to see that.
  21. Had mine yesterday. I am a BEAR today. Seriously. I've been yelling at my husband like crazy. I am HURTING like crazy. Not from the incisions but the gas is HORRIBLE. I am praying it passes soon before I rip someone's head off around here.
  22. I used Dr. Wade Barker and love him. I am in terrible pain today. Either this pump ain't working or this gas is still killing me. I don't know what it is. I hate the liquid pain meds they gave me, probably should take it to help but it tastes HORRIBLE and also it makes me feel funny. I hate feeling out of it. KWIM?
  23. Excuse me, it's medicare not medicaid. Either way, it's tax dollars.
  24. I would have packed my bags had I known you were going to put on us on a guilt trip. Come on, it's not INSURANCE. It's MEDICAID! It's our tax dollars. Darn skippy I think it's illegal to do what you are doing - so does the government. Don't start throwing this pregnant and miscarriage thing up because I guarantee you you don't want to know what all I've been through in that dept. Try burying a child and then come back to me on that one, mmkay. I'm sorry you have mental issues, but we all have our own share of problems. How are you gonna get pregnant and carry a child and then take care of a child with all your issues anyways? I am sorry that seems terriblty selfish in my opinion. I am sorry you can't get your surgery paid for with our tax dollars. Maybe you can pay 600 a month for insurance like I do and then cram some cookie dough in your mouth and get them to pay for it.
  25. Doing good. Am home now. My surgery didn't happen till after 10 am. There was an emergency surgery that had to be done before mine. Anyways - all is well. I have a little pain pump hanging around my neck for the incisions. It somehow just gives the right amount right to the cuts and when the little ball gets empty (they say a few days) I take it out and throw it away. Weird!! The only pain I am in is gas pains and it's pretty much kicking my bootie!! Michelle praying all went well with you and your surgery today!!!
