    Drink the water!

I was wondering what I was doing so different, and what might be the reason no weight loss. I have come to realize I had stopped drinking water throughout the day. I had been drinking at least 64 plus oz of water. So, I got back on the water drinking, found that I needed that intake, to help flush the system. I got on the scale, down 2 lbs! Now at 207-208....looking good! Restriction is still there, still discomfort when having soft foods. I have scheduled appt. might need just alittle out, to get that true "sweet spot"! I have no real hunger, so we are almost there, just need to tweak the pain issue. My message here, drink the water!:w00t:

No real hunger, but no weight loss

I think the restriction is good, except for the tense pain when I eat too fast, or the portion is not right! It's better at nite alittle looser. But no weight loss, I am stuck at 209 on a good day, and most of the time 210! I have started walking with the pedometer, that helps me with a visual on how many steps a day. Jacob and I are dancing less it seems, although we got a new Wii game, Samba de amigo, lots of fun shaking the maracas! I feel like a slug, moving ever so so slowly with the weight loss. I go to the doc at the end of month, not sure what he can do, I think we have the correct of amt in band, no hunger in the morning, lunch is not much, can make it till dinner, but have a difficult time getting the dinner down without the pain. I hate the slime, I have been doing that I bit more often.....just hate that! Need a new approach, if you have one....drop me a line:rolleyes2:

Good for YOU! This is the best decision I made, I am now 48 yrs old, started a new life with my second husband in 2002, we have 2 small children together......and I want to see them grow up. I have lots to do yet, YOU do too, so ....let's do it! I have found the lap-band to be a good tool, there is work in using it properly. As you read the posts, there is so much success. YOU will do great, it's wanting to, it's following through. Good luck, you have made a good choice! God bless ya, keep in touch Patti with a smile

    How are your fills?

hi there, congrats on the weight loss! I have lost almost 20 lbs in two months, it is getting slower, but it is coming off. got banded on the 21st of Jan. then first fill 4 weeks later, 4.6 cc in my 10 cc band, then on the 16th had another fill + 1.7cc.....too tight, had to go back on the 23rd remove 1cc, much better. I am trying to listen to my body, no real hunger, some head games going on. portions are good, learning to chew chew and slow down. Again, congrats on your great start and keep up the good work. Patti:rolleyes2:

    Insurance Company and Fills

I saw an EOB with Blue Cross of CA for 450.00 service date was the day I had a fill!! Wow! I have to call the insurance company, I was told they were covered! They are trying to get me to pay towards deductable" total out of pocket" OUCH what can you share:glare:

    I get my fill today!

I would like to know what everyone is being charged for their fill visit?? I have insurance with blue cross of CA smartsense I have seen an EOB dated the same date I went for fill charge of 450.00...ouch I couldnt believe the 10 minute visit was billed out at the amt!! Does this sound right to you?? I have now reached my "out of pocket max" so no charge to me now!! whew! tell me what is going on with fill charges?? By the way, my unfill has proven to be what I needed. I am at 5.4cc in my 10 cc. Doing great with the hunger!
  15. First fill did not do much, second was a bit too tight, 3rd visit, for the 1cc unfill has left me just right for now. I have 5.4 cc in the 10cc band. No real hunger pangs, that is great. Have to watch how fast I eat, or else:eek: What i would like to know is how much does your doctor charge or bill your insurance for each fill, unfill?? If there is a thread for that direct me there please, curious. I have seen a EOB of 450.00 dated the same date I went for my first fill??? I couldnt believe it!! not even 10 minutes with the doctor...and 450.00 charge!!

    Good unfill, restriction still there!

Even after the unfill of 1cc yesterday, I have very good restriction. I am able to have some soft foods, very slowly, chewing very carefully....and down it goes! But, if I try to eat too fast....ouch...ouch! I am waking with no hunger, have the liquid drink for breakfast and make it to lunchtime. Dinner was some soup with thin slices of chicken breast. It almost got cold before I could finish. I am learning to slow down. I am wondering if this could be a "sweet spot"! I sure hope so! I think the right move was the unfill, now let's see what the scale thinks!!:cursing:

  20. Hi there, hope you are doing good. I think I made a good decision going for the unfill. I still have very good restriction. I am not able to have big portions, so that is good. I still get some discomfort if I eat too fast! See, you are not the only one. I read your entry, and see that you could eat trout, that is more than what I could get down before the unfill. I understand the frustration with the weight, I am 5'3" and started at 228, I have been much higher 250-60. I have two small children, second marriage, I need to be around for them. I think we have made a good choice with the band, now we need to learn to use it correctly! This forum is such a good place to vent, and get support through this new journey. I appreciate your input, your thoughts, thank you for taking the time for ME! If I can help you, I am here! Let's try to do this for US, eat better, do some exercise and be happy, very happy.

Remember you are not alone, I am here!

my best, Patti with a smile

    Unfill, out with 1cc

I made it through the week of the 16th till today, this morning. I was not able to move over to soft foods, and liquids were not very comfortable either. So, I call the doctor, and they agreed, time to unfill. I hope I dont loose the nice feeling of feeling full! I just was not able to tolerate the tense pain trying to swallow, not to mention the PBing and slime. That part was not fun. Dr. Felix saw me today, and he thought being at 6.4cc in the band was too much, out when 1cc! Let's hope this a good place, maybe a sweet spot! I came home, got my watery oatmeal down, so I think we are on our way! Patti with a smile:rolleyes2:

    April Fools Weightloss Challenge

I may not make the 200 lbs I hoped for, but I am very happy with the progress, at 210! Clothes are fitting sooooo much better, all those pants that I bought at a size 16 and some 14's (so long ago), well, they fit pretty darn good, some loose! Happy with the April'Fools weight loss. I will try for 205 by the date!:frown: Good luck to us all, it's getting close to showdown:tt2:

    after surgery side effects

I hope you are walking plenty, that really helped with the gas feeling. Also, use a sippy cup, just like a small child, limits the intake of water or liquid. It wont allow you to glup. Take you pain medication prescribed, faithly. It will pass, and you will be glad of your lap -band. God Bless, and good luck. Keep us Posted Patti banded in Jan 09 and so happy.

The Daily: Fills, Chest Pain, and Sour Stomach

that is new to me???? stomach ulcer and shoulder pain I was told the shoulder pain that might occur after surgery was due to the gas placed in the stomach to help distend the area? humm i HOPE you feel better, you didnt get any diarerra? food poisoning usually does that. had my second fill, it is definately different than the first, I am not at soft food yet, liquids barely go down. fill was on monday the 16th. Pretty tight still. PATTI
