  1. The port is placed underneath the muscle. Mine is on my left hand side upper abdomen. You can not see it and its easy to access. You can bath and swim fine since it is under the skin.
  2. Hi There XX Begone, I don't have my after pictures yet. Do to the fact that he wasn't aggressive enough with the upper ab lippo I wouldn't recommend him. I need to go back in for a revision in 6 months already. He does great after care though.
  3. chili, tuna and chicken salad, mash potatoes
  4. Rose, you can have anything that fits through a straw. Creamy soups really helped me. They are made with milk. I'm sure you can have cream of wheat if you water it down to a liquid form. Do not move to mushies until your doctor says it is okay. That is typically at least week 4. Good luck.
  5. I am 6 weeks tt post op. My doctor didn't remove enough fat on my abdomen so I will be going in for a tt revision in 6 months. It will be lippo only. He is concerned about my port. Did anyone else have these concerns. What was the work around?
  6. Sounds like you are headed toward reflux. This is a sign of being too tight. I would have .2 or .3 taken out right away.
  7. Some doctors recommend an annual endoscopy to make sure everything is in place. I would ask your doctor.
  8. I am 15 lbs from onederland!
  9. sending my good vibes your way. Congrats.
  10. I am not sure if I like my thigh lift or not. I can't really tell the difference. They can't take too much fat out because the skin is really thin. I hope you like your results more. Let me know how you do. It took me good 4 weeks to be able to wear pants. I had to basically stay in loose fitting pants like sweats for the first month. Now I can wear anything. When you go to the bathroom you bleed a lot due to the incision. That takes a couple weeks to heal before you will not be bleed. Let me know how you do. Mine was almost $9k. Hope you got a better deal.
  11. Wanda, sounds like you need another fill. It took me about 5 or 6 to get good restriction. Good luck.
  12. Best of luck to you both in your PS journey. Congrats!
  13. What you are describing is nauseau and swelling. This should go away within a couple of weeks. Hang in there.
  14. Sorry you went through this with your Brother. This is not about being lazy. Lapband is a tool and you will still have to exercise. Good luck to you!
  15. At 5'10" tall I think 155-160 is ideal. What size are you and where do you want to be? I think a size 12 or 14 is the limit for4 5'10. Also, how hard do you want it to be for you to maintain. That is key for me. I'm 5'8" tall and feel fine in a size 16.n Good luck with your decision.
  16. I went with size only. I am 5'8" and my goal was a size 16 or 120 lb weight loss. I could get down to a size 14 but my doctor and I decided on 200 lbs. That will put me at 85% weight loss and I'm happy with that.
  17. Depends on how much you need to lose and genetics. I lost 100 lbs and just had a tummy tuck and thigh lift. Tummy tucks are quite common.
  18. Hi Erica, I am 5'8. How tall are you? My goal weight is 200. I'm at 217 right now. I am in a size 16 sometimes 18 jeans. I am fine at size 16 and so is my doctor. That would put me at 80% weight loss. 65% is normal. Good luck.
  19. Sipping all day long is key. You will get your nutrition in that way and you will not feel as full. That is what I would do.
  20. Carrie, you can have anything that fits through a straw on the liquid phase. I would eat some liquid form yogurt or creamy soup which is made with milk. It really helped me early on. Good luck.
  21. Enjoy. You are okay to have a glass or 2 after you are off of the pain meds.
  22. Just to give you some stats. The weight loss for lapband is 60-65% the first year. With RYN its 85%. But at year 3 its the same 65%. That is because you typicallty stretch your stomach out and gain with RYN. Lapband is so much safer. Good luck.
  23. glad you are going to the doctor. Most likely it is because you haven't had one in a while. Good luck.
  24. This happened to me too. I could only get down liquids. The doctor said that sometimes the stomach lining will thicken around the band and give you more tightness. I had a slight unfill and within 2 weeks I was okay with a better fill level. I would start with a slight unfill. Good luck.
  25. It is very common if you are losing weight. The only reason for a fill is if you aren't losing, you are constantly hungry or you eat too much. If you have 1 of 3 of these criteria then next time you can get a fill. Good luck.
