  1. How is your restriction? Do you need a fill?
  2. Refried beans, chili, soup, chicken salad, tuna salad.
  3. jello, creamy soups, broth, water.
  4. Yes. Make sure you get a prescription for pain medication and have some liquid Tylenol in the house. You also may want to get a liquid anti naseau medication from the doctor. Stock up on liquids, popsicles, jello, broth and water. You most likely will be on liquids for 2 weeks followed by full liquids, mushies and solids. It takes at least 4 weeks to move to a solid diet. The surgery itself was easy for me. I was only sore at the port site. I did have some naseau but the medication helped. Stick to the post op diet. It is very important not to move to solid foods too early. Good luck to you!
  5. I had minimal pain although he did prescribe me a liquid medication for it. I think I moved to liquid Tylenol just a couple days after that. That should help.
  6. Hi Louise, I have been banded 2 years last week. I've lost 105 lbs total including my preop diet. I am 15 lbs from goal. I have had some difficulties with fills. It seems like I have had approximately 20 in the last 2 years. Fills, unfills. Starving, too tight. That is the one thing about the band. It can be fickle. I do eat around the band by drinking with meals. That is the one thing I do. I do not exercise like I should either. I had a tummy tuck on 4/21 and he removed 6.5 lbs of fat from my abdomen. I started in a size 24 and now am in a size 16. I never set out to get skinny. I just wanted to be in a nice size. I am 5'8" tall. My doctor said I am a success since I have lost 70% of my excess weight. Anything over 50% is considered a success. I am married with 2 children, 15 and 6. They keep me very busy with sports and school. When exactly is your surgery? I think there are plenty of doctors in Florida.
  7. You are doing great. 1-2 lbs a week is the norm.
  8. I guess I should vote for him then. At least he says it.
  9. I want to know how Obama will pay for all his programs.
  10. Kizzie, I have been banded 2 years and would love to chat with you on your journey. Congrats on your decision!
  11. Hi Shome, I am 5'8" tall and started at 320. I am at 215 right now. Weight Watchers has my goal at 165. My doctor and I originally said 185 but my goal was size 16 which I am in now. I would like to lose another 15 lbs. I had a tummy tuck at 220.
  12. I am voting for McCain because I am afraid that Obama will raise taxes.
  13. Jayme, I am not going to be there but would love to meet you. I live in Gilroy which is about 30 miles from San Jose. Where are you staying?
  14. Ditto. Definitely drinking with meals.
  15. Megan, you are right on track with your weight loss, good job! As far as restriction goes the band can be really fickle. Sounds like you are at the right fill level if you PB sometimes. That is what happens. Sometimes I can eat 1 taco and other times just a couple bites.
  16. Steph, good luck on your preop appointment. You will love your tummy tuck.
  17. Yes, primarily it is because of the swelling.
  18. Thanks for the post. I am going to Hawaii Monday and thought about buying some too. I will stick to the one my Dermatologist perscribed which is a 45 but works really well.
  19. I lost 6.5 lbs of pannus.
  20. Sorry to hear you lost your band. I hope you can lose weight on your bypass.
  21. Don't feel discouraged. It has taken me 2 years to lose 70 lbs. I am a very slow loser.
  22. Congrats on getting banded! Take good care of yourself!
  23. Get my belly button pierced and a tattoo on my lower back. I am 15 lbs from goal.
