  1. First of all, you don't have enough restriction, I have seen restriction with a 4cc band up to 3cc. You barely have 1.5cc in there now. I would start with some good restriction. Also, make sure you are earing hard protein first. That way your hunger pangs will not be as bad. Keep your calories to 800-1000k a day and you will lose.
  2. Connie, thanks for the post. I am doing much better since moving to solids. I am down 2 lbs this week. Julie
  3. I reached my goal this week of 2 lbs. Yippee!
  4. Diana, just take it slow and sip away. You will feel better in a few days. The hunger may never return. Good luck.
  5. Jo, 10 days might be a little too soon. You will probably be fairly sore. My doctor recommended liquid Tylenol.
  6. Lferland, welcome to lapband talk forum. You will gain a ton of insight here. Good luck being banded.
  7. Berry, yes you can have crackers. Just make sure you chew them well and they don't go down crunchy. Julie
  8. The food should be the size of a teaspoon or the size of a pencil eraser. Make sure you really cut the meat up to that size. Good luck and enjoy.
  9. Red20, mashed potatoes are fine. I love them with a little butter and cottage cheese. Yummy.
  10. I had my gall bladder out pre surgery. My recovery was just a few days.
  11. Lisah, good for you taking a look at your diet. I had to do the same thing recently. I am always hungry so I thought I needed another fill. Low and behold I am only eating soft foods which don't stick to you. My surgeon told me yesterday to eat more solids. Well I did that and I am down 2 lbs since Sunday. I am very happy now. Good luck.
  12. Yes, just not very much of them. I can usally get down 1/4 of a burger, 1/2 of a hot dog, 1-2 oz of a steak and a bite or 2 of potato salad. I would try and keep with the tossed salad and the steak. That way you are getting in the best protein. Good luck.
  13. I feel much better today. I have lost 2 lbs this week. I upped my solid intake because I called the surgeons office and apparently my diet is too soft so I was hungry every 2 hours. Anyway, thank you all for your posts. Julie
  14. I do not exercise and I lose 1 lb a week. Right now I am doing better though having lost 2.5 lbs this week. I am editing my diet to include more solids so I am not as hungry.
  15. Berry, you can eat anything that can fit through a straw. So I would say creamy thinned out potatoes are fine. YOu have not done any damage. Good luck.
  16. Meredith, most like you will be a little sore and maybe have some gas. I took 6 days off and I was back to work. Good luck.
  17. Laura, I would try and eat normal between now and the time you meet with the surgeon. He is the one who will submit your approval. Good luck.
  18. Thanks for the tip on Dr. Ortiz's book. I ordered it this am. from Amazon.com.
  19. Angela, I would definitely follow your instinct on this one. If I were you I would get a fill as soon as you can. It will jump start your weight loss again. Good luck.
  20. Helen, I learned something yesterday about being hungry. I too thought I needed a fill because I was hungry every 2 hours. I called the surgeon's office and spoke to him. Apparently my diet is too soft. She he told me to eat more lean meats and take out the foods like tuna salad, cheese sticks and yogurt. I am hoping it helps me stay full longer. You may want to monitor your diet. Julie
  21. Shesha, you are probably just sore from the PB. If you feel sore today move to liquids for a day. You are okay. I wouldn't worry about calling the surgeon. What you experienced is normal if you overextend yourself. Don't worry.
  22. Marie, just goes to show you there is a journey for everyone. Being lapbanded isn't the easy way out. Poor thing, I hope she has enough restriction. Nice of you to reach out to her.
  23. Yes, if you think about exercising now and you don't want to sit around that is definitely an NSV. Good for you!
  24. I love the fact that I have restriction and can only consume 1k calories a day. I love the fact that I am not longer hungry. I love the fact that my relationship with food has changed tremendously. I no longer live to eat, I eat to live. Good luck with your decision. Its the best thing I have ever done.
