  1. Rebecca, the beauty of fluro is that you can be filled better and get to your sweet spot easier. You should be fine. It may take a couple pricks if they miss the port. Otherwise you are in good hands. Good luck.
  2. Yes, go back in for fills until you can only eat 1/4 cup of food. That should speed things up for you. Good luck.
  3. cc, you are doing great. Keep up the good work.
  4. Cras253, good for you! How exciting. You will love being banded. Good luck.
  5. Until you start getting fills you will have no restriction. Just try your hardest to not overeat. Good luck.
  6. The breathing tube is put in while you are under. The only hard part is the sore throat that may follow. I had no catheter. As far as the alcohol goes, you may feel tipsy from it easily if you have lost any weight. Other than that just try and avoid beer or carbonation. Have fun.
  7. I would definitely talk to your surgeon to clarify. That would really piss me off. Good luck.
  8. I feel completely normal. The only time I know my band is there is when I eat and get good restriction. Other than that, you can't actually feel it.
  9. You should be fine. As long as what you are eating can fit through a straw you are okay. Good luck.
  10. Kim, what you are experiencing is normal. Especially bread. Just stick to your solid protein and see how it goes. It sounds like you are at the right fill level.
  11. It is normal to feel this way towards food. I miss it too. Just try and stay focused on why you had the surgery in the first place. Good luck to you.
  12. Make sure you are eating enough solid protein to feel full the longest.
  13. Candle, I am sending my positive thoughts your way. Everything will be okay. Good luck.
  14. Sonia, aren't NSVs fun! Congrats on your weight loss.
  15. Yes, my friend couldn't sleep at night. She had to be unfilled a little bit and will be on medication for the rest of her life while being banded.
  16. I had lost 30 lbs on my own and the scale was stuck. So I opted for the lapband.
  17. Claira, you can have anything that fits through a straw. Creamy soups will keep you satisfied so don't be afraid to enjoy them.
  18. Sharon, congrats on getting your surgery date. You will love being banded.
  19. Don't give up. Go in for fills until you can only hand 1/4 cup of food. That is a good restriction. You can do this.
  20. I always start my day with a protein shake. That gets me 30 grams of protein. You can be okay if you even eat 45 grams so don't worry too much about it.
  21. Hi Helen, don't feel like a failure. You are doing great. Hang in there.
  22. Isn't restrictioin the best! The better part is when you aren't hungry all day long either.
  23. You can have anything that fits through a straw. I loved creamy soups the best. They kept me satisfied.
  24. Sounds like you need another fill. My friend has 4.2 in her band. I think it just depends on what size band you have. Hers holds 5 ccs.
