How Many Calories Do You Consume On An AVERAGE Day?
I agree. 800 calories a day sound about right. Anything more, you will lose slower.
-
Well it didn't happen
Congrats on getting your surgery date. Sorry about the delay. You will love being banded. Good luck.

Frustrated....
I would definitely get a fill I were you. You shouldn't be that hungry. The weight loss will come after your fills.

Am I Able To Eat Too Much?
Good for you. When you reach good restriction you will know. I can only eat 1-2 oz of chicken. Good luck.

Why are so many White Women marrying Black Men?
I fell madly in love with a black man. It had nothing to do with his color. He was wonderful and very special to me. We are not together but I still love him very much. We met at work and we live opossite coasts. I am in CA and he is in NY. I miss him every day.

So this is what restricition is supposed to be like!!
Good for you. It took me a year to get to the right restriction level. I'm been through a out 10 fills this year at a cost of $200 each. It can be pricey but it is worth it.

Does your insurance cover fills?
Mine only covers fills with doctor on the plan. Out of network is not covered. My fills are $200 each out of pocket. Aftercare can be expensive so make sure you know for sure how much is covered. I have spent $2k this year.

Post-op Amounts of Food Recommended
I eat 1/4 cup of food and feel very satisfied. It depends on whether or not you are losing at what fill level. If you can eat say 1 cup of food and still lose 1-2 lbs per week then you should stay at that level. It is all individual choices.

Eraser-sized bite-sized pieces???
Yes, your bites should be the size of a pencil eraser. Make sure you chew really well. I totally use may on my tuna. It makes it go down so much smoother. I also drink caffeine every morning before I have my Protein shake. Good luck.

Am I Able To Eat Too Much?
No, you aren't filled enough. Typically I can only eat a few bites of the grilled ceasar from McDonalds. If you can eat more than 1/4 cup of food you need a fill. Good luck.

Starbucks and lapbands!
I'm addicted! I enjoy a sugar free, non fat cinnamon dulce and love them. I don't know how many calories. I would say 200-300.

Now I know why people lose weight with this band
If I read this correctly you had your fill 3 days ago, correct? You are too tight. You should be able to consume up to 1/4 cup of solid protein. I would get a slight unfill.
-
Smoking??
I smoked before, during and after surgery and healed just fine.

Five Weeks
No, don't get rid of the scale...just use it less often. It is natural to gain weight once you get on solids. You will lose it after you start getting fills.
-
Hello everyone!
Tim congrats on getting banded. You will love it.

Can't wait...
One of the best non scale victories I had was at an amusement park. I was able to ride all the rides.

Hunger after band??
What you are experiencing is normal. You are on liquids so I would say that you should be hungry every 2 hours or so. You will get help with this when you get a fill on 8/20. Good luck.

Challenge - July - Labor Day 2007
Update: juliegeraci starting 226, current 222, loss 4, 16 lbs to go.

Ok... now I am unsure
I there. I use to be a binger before I was banded. Now I am never hungry so it makes it a lot easier for me. The main reason I didn't go with bypass is because I didn't want my organs rerouted. I chose lapband because it is reversible. And although the weight loss is slower, I enjoy eating all types of foods. When you have bypass you really have to worrry a out vitamins, sugar intake, alchohol. I enjoy everything in moderation. The key is to eat lean solid protein. That will keep you full the longest. Good luck.

Is this the sweet spot???
I agree with musical mamma. You should be able to eat solid protein. If you can only eat soft protein you need a slight unfill. How is the weight loss coming along?
-
Anyone know about this ?
Kim, if you are getting plugged up as much as I think you are you probably do not need another fill. If however, you are not losing 1-2 lbs per week and can eat more than 1/4 cup of food you may need a fill. It just depends on how much it bugs you to get plugged up. Good luck.

How fast, how slow?
I lost 54 lbs my first year and I only worked out an average of 1x per week. I now work out 2x a week and I'm losing about 2 lbs per week now.

What the H!@!@!!! I got myself into?
I totally freaked out before my surgery. I am so glad I had it done. What you are experiencing is normal. You picked a great reputable surgeon so you will be fine.

Please help! I think I have a problem!
Call your surgeon. He can prescribe anti nausea medication. It really helped me post op. Good luck.
