  2. Considering you're pre-op chewing sugar free gum should not be a problem. Post-op is a lot different. I think they want you to get out of the habit of chewing gum in pre-op, because possible complications after surgery if consumed.
  3. I'm from Los Angeles, CA! Why is everyone from the midwest and east coast? what's up with that?
  4. Wow thats great! When did you first get banded? Before I was banded, the year before I lost 100lbs from just me dieting and exercising. After I lost my gym membership, I slowly put back on all the weight plus more. So I went through what your worst nightmare currently is. However, I think with the lapband it helps control weight so much more, because if you do feel like you are gaining or feeling hungry, they can always tighten it. Thats just how I see it.
  5. I was not put on a pre-op liquid diet until the day before surgery. However, I do eat the sugar free chocolate pudding. In my 2nd week post-op I used it as a snack to hold me off between meals. If you are use to eating things that are fat-free, or sugar free, then the pudding should not be a problem to eat.
  6. Hey, I'm Devo and must say its glad to hear there are some people in my same boat. I've recently graduated with a Degree in Finance, but a good majority of my friends are still in college or just out of college. So I'm still surrounded by that typical "college" life. I was banded on 12/5/2008, no one besides one of my best friend knows I was banded, so its getting pretty difficult trying to pass up going to Hollywood or going out for a bite to eat, with out them suspecting something or giving me a hard time. I'm just hoping these next 5 weeks go by quicker. haha Anyway, how does alcohol affect us now that we have a band? Is it much easier to get drunk now? Okay. Someone let me know. LATE!
  7. Hello All, I am 23yr old male from California who was recently banded on December 10, 2008. Only my bestfriend knows about my Lap-Band surgery, so I dont really have anyone to talk to or anyone that could actually relate to my situation, so I searched the net for a good place I could communicate with others who are in my same situation. I have struggled with my weight for about 10 years , ever since my grandmother passed. I have gone up and down in my wieght. At one point I lost 109 lbs in my junior year, only to gain them all back by my college graduation. After seeing my graduation pictures, and comparing them to my high school graduation pictures. I realized I could no longer go through life the way I was. So here I am a 18 months later, recently banded, ready for change and a new life! :frown: So... thats my story. Hopefully, through this site I can meet some new people and hear some encouraging success stories. Until next time... Tru_Talent
