  1. J and BG...Y'all crack me up! You sound just like me! The only way I admit defeat in such matters is 1)when I completely lose consciousness while trying or 2)in the event of my own death! I am excited as hell, but I am also so freaked out about doing the MS150! It's not the 150 miles that freaks me out...it's thinking of riding DAY TWO's 75 miles after my ass has all night to get good and sore after DAY ONE's 75 miles! I think it would be much easier to do 150 in one whack! But I invested heavily in a pair of the best Pearl Izumi cycling shorts that I hope will keep that from happening! The guy at the shop said that Pearl backs them up and to bring them back if they don't perform to my satisfaction. Here's hoping! Eh...you're right...you two are a couple of tough broads and you will do just great! Make sure you take pics along the way for us! I'll be taking pics this Saturday during Tour Dallas so I can post them here.
  2. I found the page on the ROAD ID website with the one- and two-liners: https://www.roadid.com/common/sample_oneliners.aspx?GoBackURL=https%3a%2f%2fwww.roadid.com%2fcommon%2fSampleText.aspx%3fGoBackURL%3dhttps%253a%252f%252fwww.roadid.com%252fcommon%252flearnmore_ankle.aspx%253fGoBackURL%253dhttps%25253a%25252f%25252fwww.roadid.com%25252fcommon%25252fid.aspx%25253fhash%25253dankle
  3. Cut and paste...yes, you will...but you are hot already! You've come so far. I love your pics...especially with the new haircut! You are very photogenic, lucky girl. The one of you and BG is my fave! Hmmm...I don't think she's intimidating at all!!! It might not be too bad to hurt like that! LOL That kind of slap and tickle is okay by me!!! I'm just saying... (Yes, I have SO made your little saying my bitch! I hope you don't mind!)
  4. Hey, Nicole! No problem...that's what I love about this place...all the readily available support. PM me if you ever have a question or if you just need a shoulder to cry on...but if you do that, I want to hear about the good stuff, too! I live for it! I'm glad you found that site and are using it. I won't lie to you...most folks will find it a pain in the tucas to log everything they eat every single day, but you cannot behave like "most folks" if you want to get healthy. I had to do it, for sure. I never dieted in my life before banding and had no clue how much I was eating, so keeping a food log was priceless for me! Thanks for the congrats! I have been banded just shy of ten months now. It is the best decision I've ever made for myself! Take good care, Stefanie
  5. C! That is CRAZY! What a whacked out world we live in, huh? And "ewww" for the poor soul who got the video! But I know it was necessary.
  6. J - OMG! That's GREAT! And you got her bod before I did! I swear if I swung that way, I would SO do her! LOL
  7. BG - Wow, thanks so much! That means a lot, really! HP - Thank you, too! ZZ - Are you kidding me?!?!? You are SUPER hot! I bet those smoky eyes just melt the guys! (That's why I copied your "eyes" pic!) I love all your pics!
  8. I am seriously blushing while grinning from ear to ear from all the comments! Thanks, everybody! I'm sure everyone has that nagging fear in the back of their heads when they post pics...and I did, too. I love how this place is so supportive for everyone. Riblets! Too funny, Daddy! And yeah...it would be so cool to have a pole just to practice and play around! Hubby would love it, I'm sure! P.S. Oh, and C...thanks, the color thing is new. The profile editor was just added, so now everyone can decorate! I was just playing around...I need to make mine more my style...right now it kind of looks like Easter exploded! It's definitely BRIGHT!
  9. Thank you very much! For the first time in my life, my bottom half is smaller than my top half! LOL
  10. Hey, folks! I put new pics on my profile photo album. As a true friend should do, I was "called on the carpet" for bragging about my arms...I'm sorry! It sounded unseemly and I didn't mean to sound that way, so I apologize.
  11. Okay, Suzzzie! I put my new pics on my profile photo album! Be kind!
  12. Oh, sweetie! My heart breaks for you! I agree that you need to get things under control, as the band is only a tool to help you. However, the nurse should be helping you through the process, and that comment was not helpful. I doubt very seriously that she hates you...she just needs better bedside manner...just like a doctor should have. Maybe even more so. Sometimes the doctor may have to play the role of "Bad Cop" and be stern about your behaviors, and it helps if the nurse can play a little "Good Cop" while still reinforcing the docs orders. Try to ignore those comments for now and keep your eye on your goal of getting through the process to getting banded. Take care of yourself, your health is too important. No matter what, I'm sure you are beautiful! Now you just need to get healthy. To start recognizing "fullness", maybe you could practice some bandster behaviors now? Try eating small bites, putting your fork down completely in between bites, chew at least 30 times before swallowing, wait a few minutes before taking another bite. Really pay attention to your body and try to "feel" every bite. You might search for articles on the internet that discuss "Mindful Eating" to explain this further. Also, I used Calorie Counter - Free Online Diet Journal to track everything I put in my mouth after being banded. After about six months of that, I pretty much KNOW what I am consuming without tracking it. Some folks get it down sooner than I did, and some folks need to continue a food log indefinitely. The site I used has a free account option, too, and there are several other sites to do the tracking for free. Just find one you like and stick with it. It's good to get into the habit. To get you started, here's a couple links on Mindful Eating: Welcome to the CAMP System Mindful Eating The Basic Mindful Bite I'm sure your doctor and his office can provide information on this, as well. Don't give up! Keep posting when you need support, that's why this site is here! Stefanie
  13. I got mine today, too! I already set up my ERP and am wearing it! That is so cool that you got girlie pink!
  14. Okay, you're right...and now I'm embarrassed. I'm sorry! I didn't mean to sound that way. (I edited it out below.) I went to the camera store today to get a USB cord for my camera so I can get the pics off of it. Turns out I have to order it from Casio, but then he says why don't I use a card reader? DUH! How dumb of me! I have one already, so I will post pics tomorrow. (In my profile album.)
  15. I HAVE IT, DADDY! Fawnia Mondey actually wrote that. I also have: (Gotta love this title, too: "Pole Work", huh? LOL) I have them because Fawnia Mondey is the bod I aspire to! I'll never have it, but I strive for it. She's a body builder and ex-stripper who has a pole dancing studio in Canada. She's amazing! Here's one of my fave pics of her...love those arms!
  16. It has been said that NSAIDS can deteriorate the lining of the stomach, which is of particular concern to banded folks and the erosion issue. There are many schools of thought on the subject, however, and some studies will tell you it isn't so. I put NO NSAIDS on my bracelet "just in case"...I mean, what's the harm in taking Tylenol over Advil as long as it works for me, right? I stick with Tylenol.
  17. Hey, Jess! Good to see ya, and I'm glad you are starting to feel better! Sorry your son got sick...hope hubby doesn't. You guys have had your share lately, so surely this is the end for a while? :cursing: That is amazing that you went to work out when you still felt bad...good for you! Hey, all that sweating you did yesterday could be a very good sign! Did you know that the fitter you are, the more you sweat? I always thought it was the other way around, but no! So you sweating really good yesterday could be a good sign!
  18. Hey, where is BG today?!?!? This is right up her alley! (Get this pun? LOL)
  19. Hey, hey, hey! Hubby's offshore and you start this talk? Cruel woman! He's damn good at it, too! I'm just saying...
  20. OMFG That almost had smoothie coming out my nose from laughing so hard!
  21. Hey, Wendy! You and hubby are most welcome! I hope to raise quite a substantial amount by turn-in time with hubby's company sponsorship. To be honest, I never knew much about MS before signing up for this event. My hats' off to you guys in dealing with this every day. I hope research leads to some good things very soon. Oh! And BTW...my signature here used to be (and still is on MySpace) "My Goal In Life Is To Be The Person That My Dogs Think I Am!" I love all my kids...two or four-legged! LOL
  22. "Shhhhhh...be ve-wee, ve-wee quiet...I'm hunting wabbit." - Elmer Fudd Hey, people! Wake up! So much of my LBT hangout space is quiet today!
  23. Yeah, C! I think this one will surprise most of us! We can get off topic like champs, but this is crazy! I can't believe I didn't "get it", either! How silly am I?!?!? Hey, I'm here for entertainment value, if nothing else! LOL
  24. Wow, are we on a tangeant today, or WHAT?!?!? Yeah, I clicked for pics, too. Now I just don't know WHAT to think about this! I can't imagine paying a ton for that. Is it real expensive, I wonder? (edit: I reread and see you posted it, Suzzzie. NO WAY!)Jeez, if hubby knew I was even TALKING about this, he would chew me out for being ridiculous. He hates me considering any type of PS...I wouldn't of had lapband had it been up to him. He says he never saw me as fat or heavy. Thank goodness he was at least supportive of my wanting it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J! Excellent! I KNEW you would get that ride in today! Sorry about the wind, though...that is the worst...I hate biking with wind...makes me feel like my body is one big windsail! I wonder how different it might feel with our aerobars? Time will tell, eh?
  25. HA! B and JC and CD and WD are just gonna LOVE this conversation! LOL Hey...to the guys here...tell us your opinion of your girl getting a new rack? I'm curious to see what the consensus is.
