Hi Tawanda, I hope to be where you are soon. Im getting banded in a couple of days, August 4th is my banding date. Am I nervous? Shaking in my boots. But I keep reminding myself of the main reason that Im doing this. and that is to better my health. I have type 2 diabetes and high B/P. for at least 12 years I've been on these meds and I feel the need to take control and try to get off of them. But if I start looking good along the way, then it's all good and I wont complain....LOL. I hope you read this message before my date and send me some tips and positive feedback. Thanks, and keep up the hard work.

hello there, Our surgery date is nearing. Im still nervous but ready to get it started. Have you been sleeping well at night? Do you think you'll sleep well Monday night? ..LOL. Im going to do the best that I can. let me hear from you.

Thanks again for the words that I really needed to hear right now. I hve been hearing good things all week long and told myself OK, now your're ready to do this. I went to the salon today and decided to mention it to my stylist "MISTAKE!". she immediatly said DON'T DO THAT! and went into detail about her cousin that is no long with us after a three month complication of a bowel blockage after gastric bypass. I told her PLEASE DON'T SAY THAT. my mind is set and I have too many medical problems that I need to try to get control of. she calmed down a minute on the topic and then later showed me a picture of her cousin. This is exactly why I dont want to tell folks untill about a month after its been done. Thanks for offering to talk when I need it.

hey girl, I read what you told lady-t, about not being afraid of the surgery, and about getting all worked up about it. because im doing the same thing, getting all worked up because of what Im hearing some say. I needed to hear those words fromone. thanks much, you're the only one that I've heard say dont be afraid, and dont get worked up........THANKS!!

hey guys, If you have already had your surgery, was it hard for you to go to sleep the night before going to the hospital? I'm one week away from having mine and I cant even sleep now. I'm too anxious and nervous. It seems as if im waking up every 30 minutes thinking about it. Let me know how you dealt with it.

Hi, I was surfing old blogs and see that you had your surgery date the same time last year as I will be this up coming 8-4-09. its good to hear that you went back to work in a weeks time, because I am suppose to do the same if all goes well. reply if you can, Thanks!

thank you for the words of encouragement. Yes, I did belong to a support group, but I cancelled out of having surgery 2 or 3 times and when I finally made up my mind to do it, they were in the process of refunding my pre-op money. The Doctor Im seeing now also have a support group, but they only meet once monthly and not weekly. The process here is moving along so quickly that I've only met with the group once, and only 4 people there. The weekly support group was much larger but the people didnt talk to you at all. This smaller group is a lot more open,freindly,and we have even exchanged phone numbers. They are very helpful. And Yes again, I do want everyone here to be my support group...Thanks!

hi, I too had to go through cardiac test for a host of things. One thing you were so right about, and thats the fact the we have to find a way to lose this weight. My Doc has been telling me for years now to lose the weight. I have tried and tried with little success. Lets keep in touch. I will post pics soon. I will be banded on 8/04/09. hi there, my date is also on the 4th. I was immediatly approved too. I am also excited, but nervous and scared as well. I've been thinking of doing this for years and now the time is here. Let's keep in touch I will post pics soon. If not tonight, than by tomorrow

Hi, wells it good to hear that you didnt need pain meds. everyone is telling me that when they woke up, they said Lord, What have I done. my date is set for 2 weeks away, I hope I do as well as you. thanks for some positive words.
