  1. I had the same but in reading the details on the TRIWEST site I found my answers. Tricare will call you in a few days as well if you have not figured out what mods they recommended you can have them to clairify it. Good luck
  2. As soon as your pain from the surgery will allow it. I waited a week but being a male the time might be different for you.
  3. I was walking the day of the surgery and when I got home and on the third day I was up to a mile a day. Walking is your friend. I was walking my two 80lb dogs at two weeks the mile. This past weekend I was out at a SCCA event working corners so I walked 2+ miles each day.
  4. Nothing for the guys, go figure.....
  5. Try using baby oil and that will soften the glue allowing the tape to come off. This worked great for me but don't rush it. I took mine off at the two week point. I let it soak for 10-15 minutes and the glue turned very soft. Good Luck.
  6. I tried at the two week point and was sore for two days. After the third week all was well and with the weight loss things were much better.
  7. I used the ice pack for 4-5 days then changed to a heating pad for 2 weeks. It is a lot better now but still a little pain if I lean on the port (of course). It does get better.
  8. I still get it if I eat to fast but it is gone with a burp and all is good...
  9. Walk, Walk, Walk and try extra strenght Gas-X
  10. I will be doing all my aftercare in town (Omaha) with Dr. White. He also did my wife's bypass surgery on 6 April. We are both doing great. My port site is still a bulge that Dr. White looked at closely and said if it continues to be that way he can move the port to another location. First fill went great as well and I have noticed the restriction but not as much as I would have thought but know that it is only the first fill and it might take a few to get to the sweet spot. I should be able to soo how it works while flying next week. Hope I don't have any problems.
  11. Well I had my surgery on a Wed and went back to work on the following Monday. I was walking a mile everyday by then so my pain was not all that bad by then. The tape on my insisions did not come off after two weeks (my Dr. said they could come off after 10 days so I waited an extra 4 days) and at that I used baby oil to soften the glue to get them off. I still have some pain where the port is but that is mostly because of the port being attached to the muscle wall and it needs to adjust to the attachment.
  12. There was very very little pain and it was just the numbing shot that had the slight burn. The fill was painless. My was done with the floroscope and 3.5 cc was added at the first fill. It appeared to only have a straw size opening after the fill and I went on a liquid diet for 48 hours then back to mushys. Maybe additional foods next week at the 6 week point.
  13. I mix it with the 24oz water bottle because I like the little weaker strenght by mixing it with the extra water and it helps me get to the 64oz we are supposed to drink each day. I have one K20 each morning and one each afternoon as my snacks. The strawberry/kiwi flavor is also great.
  14. I have been lucky, no cravings for candy yet.... The chocolate ISOPURE shakes for breakfast mixed with milk have taken care of my sweet tooth.
  15. Oh yes, beef jerky is what I want more than anything. And I can have it as long as it is chewed to the mushy stage. Also hot and spicy pork rinds again chewed to the mushy stage. Nothing to drink for 30-60 minutes after eating either one. Both really give me the feeling that I have really chewed on something and curb the cravings. My sodium level has been low for the blood tests I have had both pre and post OP.
