I have been absent a while because I'm enjoying life finally! Update: April 2013, my band is still hard work, but I'm doing well and currently at 175 lbs. I am not focused on weight loss anymore. I am more focused on getting enough nutrition. I deal with anemia and occasional vomiting still.

Update: 4/26/13 -- Happy at 175 lbs.

You know, I had many, many times too before I was banded that I wondered if I would make it, you know, worried by rebellion was too strong or deeply rooted... but amazingly it was like a different part of my brain took over that suddenly wanted to cooperate with my stomach. My stomach never had a voice before, and now it does... and we listen to it.

Hey there! I saw Dr. Currie today for my second post-op, and he gave me a 1.5 cc fill. It wasn't so bad! He thought I was kind of funny being a big baby and all, but that's me.

When you have your second post-op? Now I go back in two months to see how this new restriction performed. I felt restricted before, but when I got back this morning, I had a serving of milky oatmeal and man, I feel really stuffed!

My family was visiting from California for a couple of weeks, and now we are all just settling back into a schedule with school starting today. I hope you are doing well! **hugs**

To answer your question, Dr. Joel Winer here in York is a wonderful neurosurgeon. The orthopedist told me no, but Dr. Winer gave me hope. Of course he warned me too that I was too young to be going through these spine surgeries and should lose the weight... but he was willing to do anything to get me out of my pain because I coudln't function anymore. He gave me my life back so that I could get healthy again. He's with Wellspan. The number is 717-747-9911. I hope you will get some relief soon!
