8 weeks post op ~ feeling discouraged
are you seeing any other "accomplishments" like pants getting to big.. shirts a little baggier... maybe even just bra or panties getting looser.. gotta find other ways to judge success.. i made my husband hide the scale.. i will not let it rule me.. no matter how many times a day i want to step on it... it's like a disease!!!!

What else have you lost?
that is a great way of putting it.. i applaud the way you said it.. you never know underlying circumstances in peoples lives.. i'm sure no one chooses to be obese or morbidly obese.. atleast that's not what i wanted in life.. and here i am now blessed to be banded, to have a speedy recovery. Judge and that will be the way you will be judged in the end. Not everyone is concerened with other peoples feelings, but there comes a point where you are just being childish and down right rude. it's so sad to see people walk through life thinking well my life is shitty or i've been givin a shitty hand SO everyone elses lives should be.. or i'm going to cast my horrible outlook on life onto them.. take care!!! i was banded december 23rd and am now on my 5th day of recovery and i slept!!! on the left side... wow.. talk about speedy!!!

Just got banded and Im on Day 4 feeling sick
I am four days post op also!!! and i have one spot on my left side where if i breath in deep or roll just right to get up.. it is KILLER pain.. like i can feel something moving.. or rubbing against my ribs i also still have some gas pains under my diaphram that i can feel all the way up to my collar bone.. I think it will go away eventually.. maybe not as soon as we would like BUT it will. I have been up and about since surgery (even got shopping done day after christmas). And that has helped a lot.. I would say to try keeping up with the walking and see if that helps.. i'll keep ya posted as to what i am doing too.. sounds like the same pain almost.. TAKE CARE!!! DECEMBER DELIGHTS!!!

Surgery Scheduled Tuesday Dec 29th! Any suggestions or words of wisdom?
Can not stress enough the importants of walking.. it will help so much with the gas pains in your shoulders and chest. I also found that sleeping on my back was easier than on the side even with support from pillows.. keep up with the liquids and gas x strips.. i am now three days post op and the walking and gas x strips have helped so much.. that's the most painful pain i have felt.. but it does subside.. best of luck!!! DECEMBER DELIGHTS!!!

I thought this day would never come
So I have a date!!! I am so excited! Today has been a mixture of different emotions.. My husband is stationed at Fort Hood and the memorial service was today.. We went... it was so so so sad. Our leaders have great writers for all their speeches but today was so touching. It might have been because this is our home and our friends. After the service I walked home (post was a mad house and driving wasn't an option) I got the phone call... December 23!!! I am so excited. After something so tragic i felt guilty being happy on this day. We have amazing surgeons on post and it's not like going to a normal gastric surgeon.. we are filler surgeries.. when ever they have time they fit us in... and it's a LONG wait usually I have been very fortunate to not have to wait very long and my time has been exceptionally short. So to get the call this soon has been phenominal. My preop diet starts on the 15th of December and I hope this will be a very MERRY CHRISTMAS.
