I haven't always been heavy.. I've actually always been active can still actually run a mile in under 12 minutes.. at 267. Just recently have I became the weight I am at. My gain started when my husband came home from his first deployment.. what ever he saw or did almost ruined him and our life together. Then we moved 3 months after returning and it took a harder turn again.. my mother passed away.. and the biggest part of the downward spiral began. I am very blessed with the fact that Nothing has blocked my way to the surgery. I never thought I would be a canidate until I went to my PCM and SHE suggested it. I was looking for a pill to help me loose.. We are military and it is completely different from normal insurance in that as long as it's done at the MTF you dont have to be authorized or contact Tricare.. So that's the route I took went to the seminar met the three military doctors we have doing the procedure. The down fall of that is that the wait time you take.. I had that initial visit with my PCM in July and now here it is I am a December Bander.. I got my surgery date on a sad sad day for us here at the great place. The day of the memorial service for our 13 fallen by the hands of Major Hasan.. I had just gotten home from the service when I recieved the phone call.. after HOURS of crying for our sister brigade 36th Engineers (HOOAH KNIGHTS HOOAH).. i cried happily again.. leading to the surgery has been an easy story of waiting.. military doesn't have a bariatric program.. it never will. So we wait til the can fit us in between major surgeries.. and i am so blessed that I got the call.. I am a December 23rd Bandster..
