  1. Hi there. My surgeon was Dr. Michael Feiz. Bariatric Weight Loss Los Angeles, Weight Loss Surgery Southern California He was great, very nice, very helpful and his office assistant is just the sweetest thing. And they will treat you very well at Cedars! Jeannie
  2. Hi there, I thought I'd pop in and say hi. My name is Jeannie, I'm 28 and live in Los Angeles. I was banded a week ago today at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. So far I've lost 13 pounds and have my first post-op visit tomorrow with my doc. I only had a couple of down days, but I feel pretty good. Went back to work for the first time today, but only stayed half the day. I'm glad to be up and around and feeling good, and someone at work today said "did you lose weight?" LOL it was awesome. I was out the week after my surgery, and since no one at work knew why I was gone other than being on medical leave, I came back and surprised a few people! I'm slowly increasing my activity my dog is loving all the extra walks she gets to go on!
  3. Hi everyone, my name is Jeannie, I'm 28 years old and I just wanted to pop in and stop lurking and say hello. I've been reading these forums for a few months now as I debated the decision to get banded. I got banded yesterday by Dr. Michael Feiz at Cedars-Sinai in LA. And so far so good. It takes me 8 hours to drink an 8 ounce Protein shake, but I'm like the little engine that could! I've also been sipping on Water. They had me stay over and let me go home earlier this afternoon. I'm having some gas pains, and some pains swallowing, and it doesn't feel very good to burp, but honestly I feel pretty okay. It's quite strange, my mom says it sounds like I went in to get my hair done LOL. I've been reading these forums for a while, the successes and the slip ups, the diet hints, frustrations, and goals that were being met, and they've all helped me become better prepared for this journey I started. I really hope that it continues to go as smoothly as it has so far. While I'm hardly "pain free" one day after surgery...I feel pretty darn good. I'm definitely forcing myself to drink the protein and the water, but I'm sure that will get easier as I start to heal. So hello from SoCal and I hope everyone is doing well this evening! Jeannie
