  1. This is a very interesting topic. I have my surgery on the 19th, so any information I can gather is very important right now. Can you guys add veggies to your shakes. I was thinking if including spinach and maybe half of a banana to my shake to get natural nutrients. It will also help my digestive system. I very worried about that. I think I will start with just a few leaves, cause I'm scared I will hurt myself. But I do know that additional veggies help to make you full with protein shakes.
  2. I will have my surgery in about 24 days. I have mixed feelings. I'm excited and very nervous. I have been hungry for no reason. I think it's because I'm nervous (and I'm extra emotional because this is my time of the month. Not a real excuse I know, but it's all I got). I feel like God is giving me a do over, and I need to do well. I just need a lot of support and encouragement. I would also love to communicate with old banders/new sleevers out there.
  3. I know that this journey is not easy at all. Anything that we pray so long for that come easy is always a bonus, but if there is work just to accomplish the goal, know there is a huge blessing attached. Forgive yourself. If it was so easy you wouldn't even need the surgery. We wouldn't need it. I have made so many mistakes in my weight loss journey, and I will continue. We have to stop setting ourselves up to be perfect, cause we aren't. I'm glad that you are able to openly talk about it. It's the first step in the freedom that comes with our weight loss.
  4. That's good. I don't consistently take biotin as I should. I moisturize daily with water mixed with essential oils. I also mix shea butter with some essential oils as well. Protective styles are wonderful. Sounds like you have a great plan.
  5. Congrats on both. Be mindful to properly care for your hair now more than ever. I know that I had a lot of issue with dryness and breakage since having my band. I use a lot of moisture/water to maintain and enhance my growth.
  6. My goal now is to work harder on the eating. To ensure that I always give myself the foods that I need and not just the ones I want.
  7. Its so hard to accept the things about us that we don't like. I think that taking the time to really know ourselves can help to reshape us into the people we deserve to be.
  8. Oh that's nice. Im trying tonget my husband into doing outdoors things. Honestly he is so lazy. Well its good that you know what works for you. It's so hard for me to stay motivated to exercise at home. I will have a few good days then I will get way off track. So the gym is always gonna be apart of me
  9. That is awesome! I am working out in the gym about 5 days a week, but I know that I can go get on my bike for 15/20mins before going to bed. I dont what my problem is. I have a bike in the house.
  10. Glad to see new activity. What are you doing to get back on track. Im trying to reduce my carb intake.
  11. I like how you are talking. I want to try a big fill. Honestly I do need something to get me back on track. These baby one's aren't really cutting it. Oh and I am with you on drinking my veggies. I was juicing, but now I do the green smoothies and I add protein to them. I just purchased some good veggies protein as well (Warrior), and its really good. I wonder could I just smooth the veggies for a long time to make it more of a juice, could that work.
  12. The small adjustment has helped, and I try to eat protein first. I struggle when I am emotional. I am trying to do my best.
  13. I went downhill after I had to have fluid removed. Then I started having problems keeping food down. I was always frustrated, cause I couldn't even tolerate my favorite healthy foods. I decided that I was done with the band. When I mad that decision, and had fluid taken out I really began to gain. After I lost my mom, relocated, got married. ..... it was hard to grt back on track. I didn't have health insurance, and couldn't afford the fills. I have insurance now. But because I'm starting a new job I don't have the time to take right now. But as soon as I can I'm getting filled. I had a .5ccs the last time I went end. I hope to get another real soon.

  15. We all struggle. Im struggling myself, but we get to try again each new day.
  16. Im down to chat. I am struggling with my band, but I am natural and love hair talk. So let's chat it up I've been natural since 2000. I have locks for 7 years, and now I am natural and free. I have had a lot of hair issues since being banded, but now things seem to be much better. My hair is growing and shiny.
  17. A table spoon of peanut butter (or teaspoon if a tablespoon is too much) always does the trick for me or a cheese stick. Both really coat your stomach. If you slowly get it off your spoon you will really get full. I like doing this rather ro drinking a shake or eating yogurt. I feel full and I got the protein that I need.
  18. I have truly struggled with the all liquid plan. I tried doing liquids for breakfast and dinner with a salad in between or something without a starch. I was doing good with it at the beginning of last week, then I fell off. Im gonna get back on track with this plan for tomorrow. I know I have to do better to get this weight down. Cause where I am now is not where I am suppose to be.
  19. So you all had the surgery together. That's wonderful. How much have you lost?
  20. The truth is the light. I hope to be able to talk with more people that struggle with emotional eating.
  21. Sorry for just seeing this. I am just getting back on track as well. How us it going?
  22. Hey people! I am just getting back on track after..... so many times. Its not easy, but I can do all things through Christ. So I am taking a better attitude this time around. I have been a bit stressed. I wonder is it because I can't eat what I want. I know I don't need those things, so I am trying to stay focused. How is everyone doing?
  23. Hey! Just wanted to check on with you. How are things going?
  24. Well I'm starting from scratch, and there is plenty of room on this journey if you want to join me. This process is not an easy one. We have surgery, because we felt like we needed help, but the power lies in your abilities. You were able to loose the weight, and with God's help as before you can do it again. I wish I could be able to say I lost 117 pounds, but none the less you did, and those 60 can come off easy. I was told to pretend that you just had the surgery and go back to the basics. I am doing all that I can to keep the starches out of my mouth and my mind. I have plans for this body, and my season is now. Right now. So is yours. I am here if you want a partner.
