I hear ya, that would be frustrating!!

I know, not all that many people voted! I tried to get everyone to vote. We have 76 people as it is in our group and I posted a thread about going and voting for their favorite name! I know some people did. I even went to a lot of people's pages and left them a link to go vote....I don't know how many did vote from that but only 2 told me they did. O well I tried! As far as I have seen there are over 100 June Bandsters now.

Mine said 3/9/2009-3/9/2009 I didn't call them because that is the date that your surgery was approved for coverage. I don't know why they write it like that. But I don't think you need to call them. My surgery is next month and it's all good.!

Hey! Well let me see....the first time I met with Dr. Sillin was about 3 months ago....end of February I think. He's a nice man. Pretty quiet. Not like an outwardly friendly man, he seems reserved. But seems pleasant. I see him again on the 9th, 10 days before surgery. You know it all gets sort of repetative. He will just go over how it all works. He talked about bypass and banding, and if you ask him he'll tell you what he thinks is better for you. He told me the band because of my age. He'll ask you if you have any questions and he does feel around on your stomach....I think to see how much room he'll have in there to operate. How much weight did they tell you to loose pre-op? They told me to loose 10-15lbs. I didn't do that. I think the only reason they scheduled me was because I am right on the line with a BMI of 40....but I strongly suggest loosing what they tell you becuase I don't think they normally schedule the surgery until you have. I have aetna too, they were so easy for me! Approved really fast! Feel free to write me back here or private message me anytime!

Here's another question seeing the poll seems to be leaning toward "Only when medically necessary" If woman have the right to choose as far as having an abortion goes, why don't you think they should have the right to choose on this subject?

I started with my dietician in June 2008, they wanted me to to all the same things they wanted you to do, they also wanted me to loose 10-15lbs! Well guess what, I started at 250lbs and my surgery is in 4 weeks and I still weight 250lbs! I'm eating the right things, just not the right amounts. I portion it all out, and then I go back for more. I feel awful every time I do this, but I am just looking forward realizing that, this is what the band is for, it will help with my portion control! Don't worry!

I know I love meeting people who live pretty close! It will be fun to see how things go for the both of us. I am having my surgery done at Lahey Clinic Burlington!

Hi lulu! My name is Breanne, I am 22yrs old and I am being banded on June 19, 2009. What is your date? I live with my mom, dad, and husband, and they are the only people that know about my surgery. I plan to tell no one else. I started this Journey back in December of 2008. At times it has been so hard not to blurt it out to a few certain people. Especially people who I relate to on weight struggles with whom I always chit chat with about dieting. But I am so thankful when I walk away and have not told them. Every bone in my body says don't tell anyone, they will not get it. So I am trusting my own instincts on this one! Thank the lord for this website, had I not been able to talk about this non stop here I am sure I would have told someone. I am telling you, use this website non stop, when you want to tell someone, come talk here instead! I don't think you'll regret not telling! Keep in touch!

I have heard that the Lap Band AP is the most recent version and that it comes in 10cc or 14cc. Do you think that I should request one size over the other? What size do you have?

My surgery date is 6/19/09 and I am having it done at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. Dr. Sillin is my surgeons name.

I live with my mom, dad and husband, so those are the only three people who know. In the begining it was really hard not to blurt it out to people. But now that my surgery is almost here, I am really glad I kept it to myself. A lot of people who have this surgery also have a hiatled hernia, so that is what I am choosing to tell work. Those are the only people I have to give some sort of explaination to. Other than that I am telling everyone else nothing. You have to work hard with lifestyles changes even with the band, eating right and exercising. That is what I plan to tell people when they ask what I am doing!

I have always considered asking my doctor for a c-section when I have children. Every aspect of the regular birth turns my stomach inside out haha. Just a poll to hear what others think.

From a political standpoint I believe it should be able to be done in public with modesty. I think mothers should take into consideration making people around them uncomfortable. From a personal view, I am really really grossed out by it. I don't plan to do it when I have children, and I get sick to my stomach around people who are doing it. I know it's great for the baby and all, just trying to keep it real and be honest!

I totally respect her for saying what she actually believed in and not saying what she thought people would want to hear, that is extremely commendable. This is a tough subject because for the most part it's the 2 extremes, either you think marriage should be between a woman and man, or you think anyone should be able to get married to whomever they want. There are a few who just don't care, but I think for the most part it is the two opposite ends of the spectrum. I'm a christian so of course I believe that marriage is meant to be between a man and a woman only. I don't pretend to understand those who are gay, because I don't. I don't know if they are born into it, or the choose it. I think it may be different from person to person, but like I said I have no clue.

I do not think it should be legal. It's possible it would open the door to being able to sell your body for anything if it were ever legalized. I think if it were to happen we would be putting many people in what could be potential danger. I think the world goes round just fine without it being legal.

oh my word, that is a good question! You just made me think and I pulled up the calendar to calculate my birth control pills and I will def be on mine too! eeks I am thinking about tweeking the pills so I can skip that week!
