  1. The only way I can stand coffee is iced with vanilla syrup and cream. Mint tea is just . A good, mild black tea like Twining's Prince of Wales blend, with a tad of sugar and half & half, is very, very yummy, though.
  2. Maybe chili flakes? I dunno. I think there was a marinade posted by someone in one of the other threads.
  3. It's like she doesn't realize that other people actually read articles, too. Does she think people are idiots? That they won't notice that, "Hey, there's an extra sentence added to that abstract! WTF, it's grammatically incorrect and it states a conclusion that wasn't there when I read the abstract 20 minutes ago!"?
  4. That's not the only thing she does, concerning studies. She'll copy and paste the abstract, add on to the conclusions section, and then make a thread saying the authors made conclusions that they didn't. Then, she'll back-step and wiggle around when confronted about it. THAT is what first made me doubt her qualifications. There is no reputable peer-reviewed article author in the world that would do that to another author's article or abstract. That made me start wondering what else she lied about.
  5. So did I. I'm trying to think of different ways to prepare it, because I bought 3 blocks of it. Anyone know if it can be frozen long-term?
  6. I agree completely. It has been either outright said or implied that we're Wendell's patsies. We're not. He doesn't ask us or tell us to do anything. I got involved in all of this because of two things. One, Sandy annoyed the crap out of me and I was sick of the fawning she got, even though she was highly unethical and obviously a hack (I can post examples, if you want). Two, I happened to speak up for Dee. Now, Dee and I highly dislike each other. In face, I eventually blocked her on OH because she was harassing me. Ask WASa, if you don't believe me, we've talked about it and bitched to each other many times. But the way she got treated was horrible. This was a woman that was obviously (OBVIOUSLY, for Pete's sake) unstable. We all knew it. Anyone who had even an ounce of brains and spent any time at all on the boards at OH (or here, before she was banned) knew that she wasn't all there. Again, I didn't like or trust her one bit, but that doesn't mean I condone the way she was treated. She was harassed and teased and provoked. You guys know how people are talked about on OH. Their names are never mentioned outright because that would get the thread deleted, but everyone knows what and who you are talking about. (How many ways can people insert Dee into words? Hmm, let me think....) Now, I'm not saying she was an angel. Obviously, she wasn't. But damn, the woman was mentally ill. The rest of the people posting didn't have that excuse. But of course, no one could speak up for her without being attacked by everyone in sight. That leaves a very bad taste in someone's mouth for other people. So basically, that's how I got put on Team Wendell.
  7. Word of warning, though. It apparently has enough acid in it to curdle milk. I just tried making it with a little half & half added, and I had to dump the enire mug of it.
  8. By the way, it's the most shocking shade of pink/magenta that I've ever seen in tea.
  9. That's what I'm worried about with my dad, too. He isn't sick right now, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he eventually has Alzheimer's. Both his parents had it before they died (his dad was SEVERE), and his older sister (by only a couple of years) was recently diagnosed with it and is going downhill very quickly. We aren't that close, but that is what I am really, REALLY dreading, with both him and my mom. My mom is the one that I am extremely close to. Her mom was utterly senile (don't know whether it was Alzheimer's or not) when she died at 74, and my mom's already 62. I am really dreading the fact that, most likely, both of my parents won't recognize me when they die.
  10. I'm not usually fond of herbal teas, since they usually taste like grass. Twining's makes a pretty decent one, though, called Herbal Revive Cherries and Madagascan Cinnamon. It's not half bad, even though I'm a die-hard black tea lover.
  11. From what you've told us about her, I don't think I'd want her. She'd be telling people that I was about to expire. :tired
  12. Ooh, I hadn't thought of putting bay leaves in. I'll have to try that next time. I'm going to freeze some of the chili, so that I'll have it whenever I want it.
  13. That's what I would think, too. I've always understood "full liquids" to be liquids that you can drink through a straw but can't see through. Like milk, thin cream soups, stuff like that. "Mushies," to me, are very, very soft foods, like pureed vegetables, soups, pureed meats, etc. I've always though "soft foods" are just soft regular food, but aren't quite as soft and smooth as "mushies." Like a well-cooked carrot or other veggies. You still have to chew, but not as much as with regular food. Mushies, of course, are foods that you could go ahead and swollow, like oatmeal and cream of wheat.
  14. My mom did that. In her case, vitamins did help.
  15. I mix a little cheese into mine. It tames the kick a little and adds some extra flavor.
  16. Slang is.... Well, weird is the best word I can come up with.
  17. I'm sure there'll be more flaming as soon as all the cast members join in. :guess :biggrin1:
  18. I think you can keep them. :paranoid I don't do well around lots of people, anyway. I'm kind of a loner. While I wish my relationship with him had been different, it's really taught me a lot about how to treat other people. Kind of like being fat, you know? I take what he did to me and make sure that I don't do it to someone else. In the long run, even though it was hell on Earth while it was happening (in fact, if I'd had the balls to do it, I wouldn't be sitting here today, it got that bad), it's made me a better, stronger person.
  19. Have you ever seen the animated ones that are like that? They're great!
  20. I can't even imagine having 6 siblings. I've just got my older brother, and our relationship hasn't always been good (he emotionally abused me as a child).
  21. Some of us are just condemned to having bad skin. I wish mine had improved. I need to go back on BC, it was the only thing that ever helped.
  22. I matched up with Kucinich and Dodd the most. Which sucks, since they don't have a shot in hell of winning anything. Oh well, that's nothing new. I was in-line with Kucinich the last time he ran, too. Obama, Clinton, and Edwards aren't liberal enough for me, apparently.
  23. It was very, very delish! Kinda spicy, but nice. Filling, too. Less than a cup, and I was stuffed.
  24. Oh hell, I'm gonna lie, of course. Well, I'll tell him that I'm a little behind where I wanted to be, but that it's just because I had health problems last semester, had surgery over the summer, and worked for my parents over the summer 'cause someone didn't get funding for his grad students. Which is all true, but didn't really affect me actually doing the work. I just didn't feel like it.
  25. I honestly can't remember ever believing in Santa. I always knew my parents gave the presents. Even now, it's a bit of a joke between us, since they still give stuff at Christmas with "From: Santa" on it.
