Obese!
It is! I can't wait. Sometimes, I get depressed because the weight isn't coming off faster, but it still feels so good to look back at where I've been and really see how far I've come.:whoo:

Do You? You know use that word!
If you look back at my last post, I quite clearly said that I didn't think it was okay for a black person to use it, that I don't think certain words should be used by anyone, regardless of who they are. And yes, the hundreds of years of history behind it does make it a very bad word to use. Huh? Asking someone nicely to pick up your pencil is a heck of a lot different than saying, "Yo, n_____, pick that up for me."

Do you eat 800 to 1200 calories per day? Please Come In!!
I also vote for Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate. It's beena lot easier to use than a lot of the other sites I've tried.

Do You? You know use that word!
I don't think it is socially acceptable to use "other bad words occasionally." My personal feelings, of course. I also don't think it's okay for anyone to use it, regardless of race. Just like I don't care if the person calling me a bitch is a man or a woman. Whomever does it is going to get slapped. The fact is, though, the "n word" has a massive history behind it that the "c word" or the "b word" doesn't.

Do You? You know use that word!
It is about 3.5 hours. Well, Memphis is. The museum is downtown, so there might be a tad added on, depending on traffic. Memphis is great, though. Very multicultural, very interesting.

Do You? You know use that word!
And remember folks, the excuse of "but other people use it" is not, in any way, justification. Never has been, never will be. Just ask your mother.

Do You? You know use that word!
I completely agree. I think the word in question is a nasty, disgusting word and should never be used. Ever. And like you say, every person on Earth makes mistakes of one kind or another. We can respect and acknowledge, though, the effects people have on society through their personal efforts and through their legacies, even if they aren't perfect people. I encourage EVERYONE to go and see the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, TN. It will shock you, break your heart, and hopefully, make people think twice about using certain words.

If money were no object...
If money were no object, I would.... Take as many classes as I want, in whatever subjects I want, at any school that I want. Travel to unique locations, such as Madagascar, the Amazon, Africa, the Arctic, etc. Buy a home in any location that I want, including Cape Cod, Florida, Chesapeake Bay area, NYC, and Alaska, for starters. Give my parents enough money that they could retire to any location they want to and live comfortably for the rest of their life. Donate to charities of my choice, including wildlife, pet, and people charities. Get lots and lots of plastic surgery. Start a scholarship and grant fund for female scientists and budding scientists.

Unsuccessful at MY goal?
Yep, I've learned that little lesson the hard way recently. On one hand, you're here on a trusted site and among friends. On the other, you never know who's reading your posts and who might be a little kooky.

Obese!
You bet I'll take it! It feels so good, because I binged for a few days (last weekend and a few days before) and gained a few pounds (probably water weight, along with food-gain). I'm absolutely thrilled to have lost what I gained and a little more! Realizing how close I am to that little land-mark just gives me a little more inspiration to keep going.

So who would you like to meet?

Obese!
To add: I am now only 5 pounds away from my lightest weight since sometime in high school!

Obese!
I am now simply "obese," instead of "severely obese!" *dances madly* I love this thing! :biggrin1:

I hate it when people post just to post.....
Yep, she's great, isn't she? :clap2:

I hate it when people post just to post.....
And then they'd have to go and post a picture of their cherub, just to show that they really aren't jealous of WASa's cherub, even though they'd howled that the only reason people post pictures of cherubs was to get compliments.

I hate it when people post just to post.....
OMG, I just choked! :biggrin1:

I hate it when people post just to post.....
Aww, WASa, people get pissed off no matter what is in your sig. You could have an innocent little naked cherub there, and people would accuse you of having child porn in your sig, I think.

So who would you like to meet?
Now I'm trying to figure out who in the world Wheetsin's other identity is supposed to be. Hmm.
-
So who would you like to meet?
Whoops, my bad! See, told you it was entirely possible! I don't think I've ever scrolled that far before. Where's an embarassed icon when you need it? Oh, well, this one will do: Seriously, though, I still think it would be a good idea. That way, all moderators are aware of the original complaint, and the person complaining doesn't have to PM multiple people over the same thing.
-
So who would you like to meet?
I have a question for all the mods..... Is there anyway that you guys could just make a separate SN called "Moderator" that all of you current moderators have access to, and put contact information for that identity in every forum? That way, all moderators can be made aware of current problems. I think that would solve a lot of this. If you guys do that, it won't matter if any of the moderator are out of town or busy and unable to check PMs, since the ones that are able to be here would be able to take care of the issue. Right now, members have to be familiar with the mods and have to have seen their posts to know that they are moderators (unless there's a list of mods somewhere that I haven't found yet - which is entirely possible). The automatic response is to contact Alexandra (since her contact info is in every forum), but if Alexandra isn't here or is unable to answer her PMs, the other mods need to have access to those complaints to be able to rectify the situation.

Please share your tips for battling head hunger.
I've found that I'm a lot more likely to experience head hunger and cravings if I put off eating. I have a bad habit of ignoring the first signs of hunger and then eventually getting to the point where I'm hungry enough to eat a horse. When I do that, I've found that I'm a heck of a lot more likely to be tempted to eat the stuff that I shouldn't eat and I really have to battle my urges. If I don't wait, if I make myself eat certain amounts on a set schedule and don't let myself actually get hungry, I don't get the same head hunger and cravings as I would if I waited. So basically, my way of avoiding head hunger is to eat.

Wheetsin, got a question for you...
Absolutely no clue. I've looked at Gateway, Dell, HP, and Sony over the last several days, and they all seem to come standard with Vista. Sucks.
