Road to "TWOterville"
Grats Tann you are doing great! Josette, I hear ya. We have been dealing with an absolute nightmare with DH's ex. The scale is slowly moving in the wrong direction and I have no restriction :target: I need to get it together and deal with my stress in a healthier way. There are actual studies that show that despite calories stress will make you gain weight! So I can be good as gold and still gain if I'm stressed out enough, and believe me I am losing it.

If you have had antibiotics recently it is likely thrush (yeast infection). Very uncomfortable, I hope they can get that fixed up soon!

Thanks for the warm welcome I don't work right now so I have no schedule unless one of the kids is home sick from school. I can do Friday at 11, starbucks oh and I went to NWWLS and had Dr Montgomery. Do you guys that go there know that they are gonna be doing a satellite office here in Tacoma and are currently looking for the office space? They will be down here 2 mondays a month and it will be Esther that comes down. It will be so nice not to have to drive up to Everett!

Girls with facial hair?
After working as an esthetician (skin care specialist) for many years I can tell you that you are not alone, many many women struggle with major facial hair issues and elswhere on the body that we would consider odd or unfeminine. Theoretically hormonal hair will go away when the hormones are in balance again. That said, weight loss will not necessarily make that happen, it might it might not. Personally I have PCOS so this is something I struggle with daily and I hate it. It has gotten worse as I have gotten older and fatter. Now that I am losing and almost halfway to goal the hair has not gone away yet, I am still hopeful. Either way, my present to me when I hit goal is going to be laser hair removal. Their are clinics who will guarantee their work after 5 or 6 treatments, if the hair ever comes back further treatments are free! I know people who have had this done and are still hair free, it really is permanent if you don't have an ongoing issue to make it come back like hormones, which is why I am waiting till my weight is down all the way. Your hair may be simply genetic in which case laser should work for you since your hair is dark. New lasers are picking up lighter hairs but still the best results are with pigmented hair, the more pigment the better for removal purposes.

4cc band....I want to know....what is full?
All I know is that the 10cc bacn can be filled to a little over 30cc's before it will burst. I would assume that a 4cc could then be filled to 12 before bursting. That said, no one would ever need it filled that much ever! If you ever reach a point where you are not restricted enough and your doctor won't fill you further based on fear of a number get a second opinion and a flouro

Road to "TWOterville"
Happy May Day Ya know though Libra I bet we aren't eating too much to lose a little bit of weight or maybe we really are maintaining right now, but I have noticed over the last year that when the scale doesn't move the inches do and vice versa. We just have to keep plugging along. Think about the old days when we ate 2000-3000 calories a day and we slowly gained, then we maintained at a weight for a long time maybe even a year or two before starting to gain again. We are doing that in reverse now. Except instead of months or years to gain 10 lbs we are losing that amount in weeks, so the process is faster but it is still a process. Our bodies don't always respond the way we think they should, they are way too smart for that. I also think that nutritionally speaking sometimes it's good for us to be a little loose so we can eat more of the nutrients that we normally get only via Vitamins. So we get that rouphage in our diet for our colons now and then too. I am trying really hard to see this time being without restriction as a positive. It is strange to know that the difference between wide open and perfect is .5 in a 10cc band, that seems wildly crazy but it is what it is :girl_hug: and by the middle of May I will have that restriction back. I also promise to be happy there for a long time and not search to be always tighter.

APRIL Bandits' Exercise Challenge!
Julie you are awesome, you go girl! Tracey you are doing so great! Keep it up I am over the omgosh I can eat phenomenon and am now sitting here with no amount of any real restriction. Early in the day I have some but by evening it's almost all gone. I am however taking advantage of this lack of restriction to fill up even my head! on veggies and fruit. Big salads with under 50 calories! and bowls of melon, yumm. I think tomorrow I might een try an apple! I just can't eem to do under 1000 caloires withou the restriction but I am staying below 1500 and eating all good healthy calories! Maybe having this period of healthy food at a little higher calorie range will help jump start my metabolism a little and help me lose a little more regularly, who knows. My scale isn't moving but my clothes are fitting differently, so I know I am losing inches. Tomorrow is a new month and I have to get to the gym and get in that habit again! These last two weeks I got way to slack, so I'm kicking myself in the heiny to get me moving again Who's starting the new months thread, Julie? Boo?

Road to "TWOterville"
lol, no one ever posts over the weekend on this thread, it cracks me up. Well I am doing good, I have my calories under control despite no decent amount of restriction. To fight hunger I have liberally enjoying a real treat called salad. I have been having sometimes large bowls of lettuce with cucumber and green onions with ff italian dressing. An almost calorie free treat. Lettuce is hard for me when I have good restriction and I can only eat a little bit of it, but right now it's easy as can be I have alao enjoyed some of the early fruits of the season, with a bowl of mixed melon :hungry: . I am choosihng healthy food like raw fruits and veggies to snack on! This is major for me! The scale is fluttering but seemingly going nowhere. I have noticed that I am losing inches though. I haven't measured or anything but I am noticing in the last week my clothes are fitting differently, so hopefullythe scale will move soon!

Family friend died from lapband surgery last week
I think the death risk is something like 1 in 1000 as opposed to rny being 1 in 200 (or 1 in 100, I've seen both stats) We think of it as so safe but the truth is no matter how safe a surgery is surgery there is always a risk. It doesn't matter how low the death rate is it is terrible for the person and their family if they are that 1 person. I hope and pray that her family understands that she did this for them, so that she could be healthy and enjoy life. A tragedy that that desire was not met.

APRIL Bandits' Exercise Challenge!
Juile and Dawn need to contact Inamed. I bet they could make a small fortune being theit poster girls! Good job ladies. Kat I am still praying, I hope they move Rick to the better hospital first thing tomorrow and get him all better quick! Betty, good for you not giving up when you went a little over. I wish I could say the same, but yesterday was like a floodgate opened after the bbq. Today the tide is slowed and I WILL be on track. It is way too late to make my April challenge but Monday I will be going to the gym anyway. This is the most I have excersized in years so I did good, I may not have met my goal but I made great improvement!

Wow Libra you look amazing! Thanks everyone for the words of support, now I just have to fight the demons that tell me I want food even when I don't. It is really hard after feeling so deprived when I was too tight. I feel like a starved person who finally is given food. Sigh, it will all work

APRIL Bandits' Exercise Challenge!
Well this morning was fruit and yogurt for 160cal. Skipping lunch as I am not hungry and we are having a big bbq later this afternoon, company hits at 4. I wanted to save my calories for a nice little piece of a fruit tart that I bought for desert tonight.

Can I have an X-Ray to see if all is well?
If you have followed post op directions as to diet and have no symptoms of pain, vomitting, heartburn etc. then you have nothing to worry about. Most doctors don't like to radiate people any more than is necessary.

Kat if you are able to read this, my prayers are with you and Rick. I hope everything comes out ok.

Admitting you need a slight unfill
I just had an unfill, my first ever. Ther eis nothing wrong with going in and saying hey, I am a little too tight. Remember that being too tight can lead to a dialated pouch and even a slip. It's just not worth it, go get an unfill.

Lunch ???
I too often do tuna, but I also like canned chicken mixed with a little mayo and either ff italian or some horseradish sauce to give it some zest. I like to eat these combos on melba toast, super crunchy, low in calories and fat. I also like some of the protien bars out there. My favorites are the atkins bars, they seem to have the highest protien and fewest carbs of the ones readily available in the supermarket. If you have a freezer the south beach diet meals are great! You can get the ones without rice or pasta if those foods are tempermental for you. Out of all the frozen meals they are my favorites. I don't care for the lean cuisine, weight watchers or healthy choice ones nearly as well.

APRIL Bandits' Exercise Challenge!
OK so I'm doing back to back posts, hehe. Just got back from my appointment. They did a barium swallow and my band is doing great, no pouch dialation, or esophageal(sp?) dialation. I was definitely too tight since my last fill. I told her I wanted to go back to the 9.5 and she agreed till we saw my barium pics. I was soo tight that while my pouch wasn't dialated my band appeared to be sitting a little low. She said that if it was sitting low a slight unfill for a little bit would fix it right up and that it was from being too tight. So instead of taking out .5cc we took out 1cc taking me back down to 9cc's total. So all is well and I get to be especially careful with calories now that I will have less than perfect restriction for a couple of weeks. I can go back to the 9.5 in a couple of weeks, but we won't be going any higher ever again without flouro. I don't ever want to be that tight again. I didn't realize how miserable I was till I had relief! I was able to eat a cup of clam chowder and fish for lunch! Without discomfort! I am just gonna have to be careful to make good choices or I could easily gain. Thank goodness for fitday and our challenge!
