  1. If you still got stitches in you, for sure it's going to hurt. Try like at the end of every week, to lay on your side until your not so sensitive. Eventually you will. Well your still healing so that can be anything. Watch how you drink your Water. easy! Try to swallow a little at a time. If you can, you will know it. From your port to your band is the tubing. That might be what you are feeling. I know I feel mine sometimes. If your comfortable with it, and it's not giving you any problems. You should be good to go.
  2. On my first surgery (GALLBLADDER) They filled me full of air, I looked like a round balloon. The gas was painful. I saw the Doc about 10 days later for stitches to be removed, and told him about the pain. He said when you walk, it moves. As a result it comes out. It sure did ! for a long time So you will see if you go walking some, does it help. I would also call my Doctor. Good Luck.
  3. Here is a good recipe for the mushie stage, and its good. Small can crushed pineapple (DRAINED) 8oz cool whip small cottage cheese 1 small box Jello (any flavor that you like or think would go good with pineapple like strawberry.) put the powder jello in a large bowel for mixing (NO WATER!) add the cool whip , stir until blended, add cheese, and stir until blended. then add in the pineapple, and stir. Refrigerate over night. This makes a great low cal salad. Great for Pot Luck at Parties this summer. cottage cheese, string cheese, yogurt, oatmeal, poached eggs, scrambled eggs, sugar free pudding, applesauce, Protein shakes, and anything soft and mushie that you can think of or puree.
  4. I was just glad to know that someone else had noticed the loss. Thank You all for your comments.
  5. Well it took a while for them to get it right, but at least your in good shape now. Congratulations....
  6. My first time getting stuck was chicken breast. I told my surgeon it is to dry for me. So he said eat the dark meat instead. So I do. But I make sure I have a dipping sauce for it like BBQ, or it will get hung up. So chicken breast, and bread are sure to get me every time.
  7. I'll tell you something. It sure feels good to lose weight, get new clots, and be complimented... But,,, even though I know I lost weight. I look in the Mirror and see a FAT person. Well,, yeah! I still am. But this time losing weight. I hope someday when I look in the Mirror, I will be satisfied. What I weigh, the size I wear (IN THE FUTURE.) I am totally in touch with all of it. Someday I hope I am satisfied with what I see.
  8. Finally someone came up to me for the first time and said :you look like your losing a lot of weight !" I said "you mean you can tell?" She nodded, and her eyes about popped out of her head.... I thought I was going to hit the floor! Or she was... I have been patient, and hoping I would hear this someday, "then at least you know your on the right track" Today was that day. All you Newbies,,, hang in there. Because it's really worth it. :success1: :welldoneclap:
  9. When the time comes for you to finally start eating, as long as you take real small bites, and chew, chew, chew. Pulverise it, and eat slow you won't get stuck. If somehow you do. (CAUSE WERE ALL DIFFERENT) Drink small sips of warm water. Don't drink cold at all. The warm water will help push the chewed up food down, or bring it up ! You never know. That's why I say chew everything into mush. If you feel anything getting hung up in side, don't add more food to it, use the warm water to wash it down, and then start again unless you feel to swollen. If that happens go to shakes. You have a long way to go before you start eating. So for now,,, don't even go there. Not unless you want to hurt yourself, or end up in the Hospital
  10. That is still freshly stitched.. If someone caused a accident, well,,,, I'm not sure what would happen. You could even end up losing the band. Blood Clot is a major concern. You will need pain killers. I think you should get your surgeons 2 cents. Make him aware of this, and see what he says....
  11. LOL You are right about that one ! ! ! !
  12. See your surgeon, and ask him to look at it under Fluoroscopy. He will be able to see the whole band, by looking he should be able to see what's wrong. Good Luck to you... Shirley.
  13. Just a update that made me laugh I was in the Kitchen yesterday reaching up into the cabinets, when I felt my capri pants kinda slip down a little. So I grabbed the A*s of my pants to see how tight they might be (WAISTE HAS ELASTIC IN IT) and I felt like one of these kids walking around, that look like there carrying a pants FULL ! :smilielol5: I had a handful of material that's all. So I thought about it and, I have been walking 3x a week. So if it came of in that area,,, I'll take it. Well I just picked em back up a little, then checked again.... If these keeps up, and I hope it does. I will be into another size by summer or mid-summer. Just thought I'd share that. Thanks to all of you for your support. Shirley.
  14. Yeagh it's normal,, you usually always have some swelling. You should have your Protein shake instead of hot stuff. If you mix your protein into the shake, and it suggests 8 oz. of Water, use 10oz... It will make the shake more watery so it goes down easier. Just a tip. You should feel better in 5 days to a week at the most. Just don't eat food, like i said before it can really cause you to swell up. WELCOME TO BANDLAND.
  15. (Mark this forum as read)The Clothing Exchange (NEW FORUM!) I found this on the forum. Just scroll down, and there are all sorts of different things to see. Anyway,,, this was there, and its for Men and Women. It's a Great Idea. Take a look.
  16. How's your knees? Do they hurt you at times? Like if you were sitting for a while, and went to get up, and you find yourself rubbing those sore knees? Just asking,,, because that is a comorbidity.
  17. I had it done several times, and no you can not drive... First time they scoped down the stomach, I was fine. Second I had a heck of a soar throat.
  18. Congrats on the weight loss, nice job ! You do know to stay on fluids for 3 days right.. Because if you dont, it could cause swelling. Then 1 day of mushies, and then you can try what you like. But start easy. Don''t dive into a steak. You have to first see how it feels when you eat. Then you will know if you want to try a steak. Just remember chew, chew, chew. Shirley.
  19. OMG  I know sizes are hard to find. How about suspenders if necessary??? I mean i,m sure you must where a belt. Otherwise : It's get what you can... Congrats: on dropping it off.
  20. My husband has High Blood Pressure, High Triglycerides, and High Cholesterol. This is for starts. He has a Cardiologist, and he is a heart Attack waiting to happen. He's a good 100 lbs. over weight. But he would rather die then have the Band, and lose all that food. We have discussed this, believe me ! That is his wish, so I know it will happen some day. Next month his Medicare kicks into gear, and he is going to the Dr. for a million tests. GOOD ! I hope someone wakes him up. Now me, why would I want to die, when I am fighting to live? I plan to keep Plugging along. Take your wife to a Seminar where she will here from the Dr.'s herself what this is all about. Because this is no easy way out at all.....
  21. You probably pinched it.. Try to be careful so you don't hurt yourself. Like I said it can bite ya back.
  22. I posted a add about a month ago, saying that I brought my Summer Cloths down and got them out of the box Well,,, I had to dig a little deeper to find smaller clothes. I couldn't believe when they fit.... A little snug but they fit. Today it was warm enough to where them, and the first pair of Capris that I put on are getting BAGGEY.... I can't believe that it is happening that fast. I'm averaging 2lbs. a week in loss, but you lose inches too. So put the two together, and it sure makes the difference. Who knows,,, by summer I might be getting different cloths. This Band WORKS !
  23. When I was Banded, and leaving the Hospital, they gave me my LapBand Card that has all the Dr.'s Info on it. The flip side explains that I can only eat so much, so I should be served at a cheaper price. So the card is for Medical Info, and to show your card and save...
