  1. I know LOL. Thanks Anyway though... Happy New Year ! Shirley.
  2. I did allot of Tuna, egg, chicken salad. anything pureed/moisture in it, cottage cheese, cheese sticks, oatmeal.
  3. Less calories, and more calories burned with harder working out will do it. Sometimes they go on there own.
  4. I am saddened to hear this about your Mother, and Friend. My Husband has had Kidney Cancer, and had the right Kidney removed 5 years ago. He is in extreme pain all the time, and always very sick. Especially from GOUT. This is very painful, and lasts about 7-10 days each attack. His other Kidney is functioning at less then 50%. He will turn 57 on the 15th. but he looks like a Old Man ! The other day he took me by his side, and said you know I'm slowly dieing don't you! I said no, "I Know he's dieing !" people live on Dialysis all the time. He looked at me as if I was in Denial, and just don't think that he will die. Well I know better then that. It's all just a matter of time, everything will slowly shutdown, and he will die. His Mother went the same way, and I can see how sick he really is. So this is Heartbreaking to watch. I don't know if this will make it easier for you, now that you know of the suffering involved with living after having Renal Cell Carcinoma. Yes it gave him a few more years, but it's not living ! He tells me all the time. That he hurts inside so bad from the Kidney removal. if he would have known this, he would have rather died. I have been hearing this, and seen the visits to all the specialists, and know one can do a thing for him. I feel for you, I really do. It hurts to bury your Mother. I know this for sure. You have to think about you now. So please take care of yourself, and be proud of your accomplishments. Shirley.
  5. If your swollen cold is great ! If it's just not moving try a warm "NOT HOT!" cup of Tea or broth or warm Water, and just drink slowly down. It will push threw, and dissolve. Then if swollen stay on fluids for a day. Just remember Cold makes the muscles tighten up, and warm relaxes them. This is important to remember for the future, with the band.
  6. Boy that's the Truth ! I also notice it more in early morning if I have sinus drainage. I been reading different posts, and I see there is allot of that going on now !
  7. That is a Great Job in Weight Loss, so CONGRATS ! Happy Birthday to you ! "You have a Double Celebration WTG" and a prayer to the man upstairs is on the way ! Have a Great Day, and keep up the good work.
  8. Thanks I appreciate that... But I joined a long time ago. That was a new email address, and they botched it up, and have me listed as a 1 year Bandster. I keep giving them my old email address, and tell them to look me up ! I was here ! I can even look up my old posts as a October Bandster 2006. But they don't make the connection, or don't bother, because I never get a reply...... Anyway, you have lost a lot of weight ! CONGRATS ! So you are doing just fine, and holding your own ! Keep up the Great Work ! and never look back. Shirley.
  9. Nice Job ! Q-tee ! OCTOBER BANDSTERS ! WE NOW HAVE OUR OWN GROUP ON FACEBOOK "YES !" CLICK ON THE LINK ABOVE AND JOIN US,,, DON'T BE SHY.
  10. Hi ! Welcome Aboard.... You made a wise choice to come on to this site. Were all pretty good about helping each other out, and listening also. Check out the pre op, and post op sites. This way you can read up on stuff that will be all new to you, and learn from different peoples experiences. Also everyone that is Banded, things work differently for everyone! What works for 1 person might not work for someone else. I think that is the most important thing to learn, that everyone's situation is different. So you have to understand the difference in opinions. I'll see you around. Don't be a stranger... Just venture out ! I'll catch you around, Shirley.
  11. Cool ! Q-tee... Happy New Year also ! I see you got some Grit ! that's cool ! Let me know how to get on. Shirley.
  12. I got a email wishing me a Happy 1 year Anniversary ! I said Thank You, and I appreciate that, but it's actually wrong ! I was Banded 10/31/2006... So their calculations are a little off. I have contacted them before on this matter, but never a response So Happy New Year to me!!!, and Happy "make believe" 1 year Bandiversary to me also... I just had to start the year off with a Bang... LOL
  13. I have NO ! Idea... Why don't you start one for the New Year.
  14. I'm fine elcee! Thanks for asking though.... I was pertaining to the patient that started this Thread, with Cocobeans comment. So I gave my 2 cents on why I don't believe that the body is rejecting it. Instead it sounds like something is wrong to me, especially with all the pain she's in. But Thank You for asking ! I didn't mean for it to be misleading though. Happy New Year ! Shirley.
  15. I'm thinking,,,, with extreme pain ! Something else had to be wrong with the Tubing possibly ! If it were Rejection,, Why bother to put a Band back in ? It would only be rejected again,. "I would think..." because the body will not tolerate the Implant. I'm not sure how the body will react to a foreign object in it. "pain, or feeling sick." But with pain ! I can't help but think that something was wrong with that band. "MY OPINION ONLY.".
  16. Call your Dr...... Let him/her know what's going on. If it's worse ! Go to the Hospital where you had your surgery at. They should have a Bariatric Surgeon on call.
  17. I hope it's a better one then 2011 was. So I wish you all well. any Resolutions out their !
  18. My Surgeon made it clear. he is paid for the job, and paid for the fills. Any other type of work that he does, your Ins. Company has to pay, or you will pay cash. He is in this for business, It's what he does. So NO! Charity, Repairs, anything... He is paid for it all. Well he did my surgery, and did a Great job. He was Terrible in aftercare, so I got another surgeon. But that's my experience. That's why I said In my previous post. It's Greed from the Surgeon, and he would even agree to that. Money is everything, and Reputation means nothing.
  19. I use Flintstone Complete with Choline 1 chewable 3 X a day. I have been taking these since I have been banded, and NO! Regrets. I go to there website, and print out some coupons, and pick them up on sale. I have tried Costco/ Sam's Club Vitamins with CHOLINE, and they just don't have as much pick me up to me. Good Luck Shopping.. Happy New Year ! Shirley.
  20. When I had my band done I was put on pepcid complete "chewable s" for any Heartburn or Discomfort. 2 a day. It worked ! Also put on Flintstone's COMPLETE with CHOLINE!chewable vitamins 3 X a day. I still take them. No regrets.
  21. I never heard of such a thing.... If he is willing to re do it again, at NO ! charge to you. Then he knows he did something wrong. He's a surgeon, and they don't do this for Free !
  22. I mentioned this to my PCP. She prescribed a powder disolved in water. It does not hurt the belly, but it does get the job done. Very Gentle. Ask your Dr....
  23. Glad you feel better ! That choking at night is a sure sign that your to tight. Happy New Year ! It will get better now...
  24. I go in for a fill on the 11th. from this unfill that I had to have. I don't even want to see what I have gained... But you are right too Mimilou... You do what you must ! That is the Truth ! If it means a slight unfill compared to a few days in the Hospital, and a unfill anyway ! It's best to just do it. Try liquids first ! For like a week or 2. You could stay swollen that long. If you can swallow after that ! Then that's fine. But you either do the Liquid, and stick to it, or go see your Dr. for a unfill, so you can enjoy Dinner with your Company. That's up to you...
