  1. I get my Band on 10/31/06. I have to admit,,, I'm getting nervous. I've got all these people telling me "Shirley don't do it! Youv'e already lost a lot of weight!" Like I don't no this wright??? Anyway they are telling me about how many people they no that have had this done, and they are forever sick. "My guess is By-Pass Surgery" They just don't no the difference. I'm told I wil never eat again. I no I plan too! I no it won't be much, but,, I still plan to eat someday. If some one out there wants to get back to me, and give me some pointers or tips. I would really appreciate it. Because I have all ready bought my Protien Drinks, I've watched a tape on the Procedure, I'm going for my Pre-Op visit Wednesday,Whew, I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row as they say. But,,, somehow my head is getting spun around So please get back. I'm in Michigan, my highest weight was 356, now 239 that's on 1200 calorie diet it works!!! My Surgeon is Jeffrey Genaw. Out of Henry Ford Hospital.
  2. I hate to say it, but,, your Mother sounds like a pain in the *^#! Sorry M other, but give her a chance to breath. Eventually this will all kick inn, and work. Just remember it is a slower process. Sooo don't be to anxious, I mean it is for the rest of your life. Shirley..
  3. You mean that is a reasonable amount of Protien??????? If Yes!!!, then thanks alot.

  7. I saw my surgeon at Ford Hospital in Michigan, and,,, he hooked me up with my Date to be Banded. 11/02/06. I can 't weight. He also put me on a Protien Drink Diet for 1 week before surgery. Any one out there have any suggestions on a good protien drink? even with flavors would help. I'm the new kid on the block I guess, so I could use some input. I started at 356 now at 253 since last October. That's on 1200 calories a day. So that alone is a nice loss, but I can't waite to be Banded and on my way to a new me, wich will be like the old me. 130 - 150 is fine by me. Shirley
  8. My Surgeon put me on 1200 calories a day. High Protien, Low Carbs.. You can eat just about anything in "GOOD FOOD" not fast food. Read your labels on packaged food/per serving that's what you want. Keep a log/Diary if you will. Add up all the calories, then add up your protien {protien should be between 60-80} Calories under 1200. Get a book, and get a scale. Dr Phill has a good book out on counting your calories. Remember it took time getting on! It's gonna take time comeing off. I like Lean Cuisine myself. I started in October and have lost 87 Lbs. So yes this old fashion way works
  9. I feel you pain... I to am waiting surgery "lap band". Trust me,,, you are not alone! I need both knees replaced, but, my Surgeon say's "I won't touch you untill you can put both knees together like a person should be able to...." Well,,, I went to a seminar and learned to count all my calories, no more then 1200 a day. and I have lost about 84 lbs. since October. Still have a long way to go. Even excerise in a chair will do some good, but the cutting back, no caffiene, no sweets, and no carbs played a big key. sstasevich@wowway.com is my email address. Write and we can chat. Shirley...
