I'm new to this forum
Yup...chew chew chew and take lil' bites. But keep in mind you have no restriction so may not feel any difference and will likely be able to eat like you did before....but try not to.....get used to the habit of teeny bits and chewing each bit LOTS!!! Once you get a fill (the proper amount) THEN you will feel a big difference!

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Hmmm, ya'll are funny. Okay, I did end up going and it turns out that it is probably a small tear in my cartilage (it should heal on its own over time)...I was given some prescription anti-inflammatories/pain killers to take. The only things is (DAMMMMIT) that I can't do any impact exercise......(&^$$#$#%^%$^$$# I realllllllllllllllllllly need to do exercise..........without it I won't lose. *sigh*. I know I know....I have to let it get better but it SUX. :tired

How do I tell my best friend???
I just had to say that I couldn't agree with this more!!! Not only will not everyone be supportive....but be wary of those whom you THINK are supportive (ie. are supportive to your face) but in reality tell quite a different story behind your back. I've seen it happen to a friend of mine who was banded and told everyone....she thinks (still) that everyone is so supportive.....but if she only knew. One of the reasons I didn't say anything to anyone except for a VERY select couple.

How do I tell my best friend???
Becca....if she knows nothing about the lapband you can very easily get away without telling her but if she does know about it (ie. the eating habits etc) she will figure it out and then will likely be more hurt that you didn't include her in any way (ie. tell her). Only you know your relationship well enough with her to make the decision but don't feel bad if you don't tell her. Although if you don't tell her; I recommend you never tell her.....otherwise she will be quite hurt.....unless you can explain the reasons behind it well enough to her so that she understands. Good luck!!!!!

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
UPDATE: Okay....so I woke up this morning and the constant pain in my knee was gone...(back to the sporadic) so I'm back in denial now! I'm not going to see the Doc today (I'm sure much to Mr Yoda's dismay); I will wait to see my regular doc at my appt on the 15th. Really though.....no use going if the pain isn't there when I go......!!! Just happy it is gone.

November/Christmas Goal
Good luck with it Mandi! You have worked just as hard. Buy her a little treat or something..... I hope for her sake though that she has lost a lot too since she has worked hard.

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Hmmmmmmmm okay....I think I have to admit to myself that I might have buggered up my knee 10 days ago. Right after one of my workouts (two Tuesdays ago) when I got off the elliptical machine I took a few steps and got an odd painful spasm in my knee. I thought it was just like a "crink" ya know...and had to work it out....then over the next serveral days it would get a sharp stabbing pain when I moved it a certain way (but the pain wasn't constant....just sometimes when I moved it or bent it.....). So, I haven't worked out in 10 days (on purpose because of this) and I made a doctors appt. (but it isn't until 15 Dec) to have it checked out. Wellllllll, today after work I did a bit of shovelling (omigawd, we went from nothing to about 30-40 cm of snow today....*sigh*) and after I came in the house my knee started to hurt continuously....(ie. not just sporadically)....and I'm limping now. So, I don't think I can stay in denial any longer....I will go see the doctor tomorrow (squeeze in) and see what the up is.....cause something is buggered for sure. I don't get it.....I have been using the elliptical for several months....it's not like I was new at it....ya know? Anyways......hopefully all is well because it sucks not having been able to work out for the last 10 days. DAMN %!#%^%%$&^&*^ snow!!

Argon's Activities
I know that song well Mookie. I used to think about my dad and I during that song too and think, "man I'm gonna have regrets one day when he dies" (assuming he goes first!). But then (several yrs ago) I tried my damndest and it didn't work and I finally comprehended that it "takes two" to make it work; it just can't be one-sided. So, I finallly reached a point where I realized (& accepted) that I did all I could at my end; nothing was left. In other words, if he dies tomorrow (knock on wood) I will be at peace; I will have no regrets; knowing that there was nothing else I could do.....it was his choice/decision....unconscious or otherwise. It felt good to get to that point.
