Hi Jaded, we are neighbors, I'm in Overlea area. Welcome to the group. I'm not real active on here. I went over to Sparkpeople.com to do my food tracking and found two lapband groups there. But Lapbandtalk is a great place to get all of your questions answered. Wishing you the best, and feel free to e-mail me. I was banded on 1/09 at Hopkins. I'm doing very well. I've actually lost 43 lbs since pre surgery, and 30 since surgery. I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Anyone NOT hungry??

I'm with ya, and I'm a month out. I just don't feel hungry much. 5:00 is a hard time, so I've been trying to keep a snack with me then, but other than that, I'm not usually hungry except at regular meal times. However... I am eating a snack in between breakfast and lunch and then at 5 - we eat dinner at 6:30. At this point, I am getting in about 1000 or so calories a day.

    Mushies ideas?

google homemade babyfood. there are some good ideas out there. and of course something like progresso pot roast soup, stuff like that can go right into the blender.

Hey Sharon, don't know that I can be a mentor, but I'll be a support. I've been in bandland for two weeks on friday. The first week was the hardest to get through. I was so tired of chicken broth. I was allowed tomato Soup if it did not bother me, so I did that a little bit as well, I did half tomato, half beef broth, to put some protien in it, and then added 1 tbsp of unflavored protien - just be careful with the temp or it will clump up. I also added unflavored protien to my crystal light. I got my unflavored protien at GNC it was by one get one free for a pouch. I use it every day in some capacity and I still have about 1/4 of the pouch left, so it has gone far. I was only on liquids for one week, then pureed for 3. So I am a little over a week into pureed. I was never so happy to get something with a little "weight to it" and now, I'm feeling quite fine. I've actually been able to build a little variety into my diet as well. Hubby made a WW beef stew last sat. I took some it, put it in the blender - whala, pureed beef stew. Next night, he made creole chicken - which was a poached sortof method, so again, took some of the chicken, the tomato and broth, and I had creole chicken puree. On monday, I thought about it, I was making babyfood, so i did a search, found some homemade babyfood sites and got some ideas there. Tomorrow will be a cooking day for me, as I am low on frozen meals. I have also taken some canned chili (campbells steak and beans) and thrown that into the blender. Great thing is. I love chili, but not chili Beans, but pureed, they were fine. Good luck, keep moving forward and post here if you need some help, cheering up, to complain or you want to cheer about something. Which by the way - I am down 12 lbs since surgery!!

KMC - congrats on your 7 and 20 total - I have my post op check up on monday. when I eat eggs (egg beaters white) I only do 3 tbsp which equals 1 egg, that's all I can manage. Usually when I eat, I get about 1/2 cup, but I'm hungry about 2 hrs later, so I will eat the other half of a serving then. according the nutrition tracker I'm using, Im only getting about 550-700 cal a day
  15. It has been pretty quite on here lately, so I thought I'd start a new topic. those of you already banded early in the month. How are are you doing? What are you eating, are you back to work, feeling any pain etc.? I have lost 12 since surgery - 25 total. wooo hoo. I am eating lots of purees of course. I found some sites to make homemade babyfood, so I've used them. Yesterday, I bought a can of campbells chunky chili with steak and Beans, into the blender it went. It was good - normally, I don't like beans, because of the texture, but hey they were being pureed, so why not. today, I got a can of progresso chicken corn chowder. It was not the best choice - 200 cal for the serving, but, I have been doing so good, I figured it was time for a little treat, and that is a much better treat than my former usual - Peanut Butter Cup I am back to work, but wed I over did it a little, so I developed a bit of a muscle pull. My kids are going to have to learn to help out around the house more. they were good the first couple of days post op, but once mom was up and around, it was like all bets are off. I do have my first Pampered Chef show post op tomorrow, but my daughter will be going with me to help carry everything. I'm excited and nervous.
