Well lets see I have been overweight my entire life.  I have tried all diets and sometimes lost weight, but to only gain what I lost plus some.  I had pretty much convinced myself that I was just fat and I was going to have to deal with it.  My mom was the first to explore the surgery.  She had her lap-band in March of 2005.  I saw how much success she was having so I looked in to it.  My insurance would not cover any kind bariatric surgery so I was stuck...... Until my wonderful mom announce she was going to retire from teaching and that she was going to pay for my surgery.  Thank you MOM Love You.  At that moment I realized that there was hope.  So I started reseaching doctors and found Dr. Benevides, and the rest is history...........
