5w4d pregnant with the band
umm no that's not what all banders have to do!! I am 12 wks pregnant and my OBGYN has delivered alot of banders babies... she said it all depends on the pregnancy like usual some are vaginal and some are C-section. My advice to you is find a OBGYN that has experience with lap-band patients. Mine has experience with all three bariatric sugeries!! Congrats!!

very BLOATED!!!!!
I felt very bloated for at least a week after the surgery. Also for some reason my stomach was more bloated a poked out on the right side. The dr. said it was because of the air that is injected during surgery. It will all go away and yes you do need to walk alot!!!! I even had pain in the arms and shoulders from the air. The calms down each day..... Congrats on your surgery...

Does anyone else have phlegm issues
I have tried the getting unfilled just a little and then I was fine. So I went back in a month or two later and he added a little more and I was fine until a week or so ago. What kills me about the whole thing is I have never had any allergies or anything until I had the band. I have been on soft and liquids since I have been throwing up lately. My stomach looks visably swollen so I need to let it calm down. Then I will see if I need to get an unfill again or not.

Does anyone else have phlegm issues
I have more of a complaint not a complication...... So I was banded in Oct of 08 and i have been loving life, however since my two fills and Spring time arriving I have been the walking phlegm girl.... I have been drinking something hot in the morning like my dr & my mom (also a fellow bander) has told me to do. However sometimes it works a little and sometimes it does not. It seems like when I eat the food gets caught in all of the mucus and I can feel the congestion and of course then the food does not want to go down. I have been to my regular md and she says I do not have a cold and my lungs sound clear. My band fill dr. says that some people produce more mucus than others. Basically, deal with it. Soooooo does anyone have this issue and can you suggest any tricks or advice??

i cant keep fluids down
It may be too tight. However if you have not had a fill in a good long while you will have some swelling for a few days. My doc says that if you swallow the water and it just sits there before going down then you are swollen, but if the water comes right back up then to come in a see him. Thank goodness that has only happened to me once. Good Luck and just take it slow.

Cool... I was banded by Dr. Benevides also... However Dr. Maese gives me my fills since he has an office in Ferris. That is so much closer to me than Richardson. Where exactly is this park located.

Ready Set Banded 10/22/08!!!!!
Hello everyone...... I am so excited that I finally banded. I was banded on 10/22/08 by Dr. Benevides at the surgery center of Richardson. So far I have feeling good and everything is healing. I have enjoyed the ride so far and have 15 lbs. I am kind of getting a little scared because Sunday I can start eating the "soft mushy diet" and I am hoping that it will stay down. My mom was banded in March of 2003 and she has given me wonderful support, however she and her doctors have discovered that she has a very small esphogus and so she can not swallow everything so she is very limited in her diet. I am just praying that mine is normal. Anyway I look forward to chating with everyone.
