  1. I want to bump my message up because I added #4 and I think it's important.
  2. It may be possible that with all the walking you did, you've gained some muscle. Don't give up, because it will eventually happen. Don't weigh yourself every day... it's a bad idea.
  3. It's not like we haven't tried to do it on our own... that's what the band was invented for! I could have never lost this much on my own and I feel GREAT now! They're just jealous of you, girl!
  4. Here are the REAL issues you're going to love!!!: 1. Clothes I don't have any that fit. Seven months ago, "my clothes don't fit" would have meant they were hugging me in all the wrong spots. Now I mean all my clothes are too big. My mom calls me "parachute pants" and it does not hurt my feelings. I have to spend hours upon hours shopping for new clothes in the mall. Since, now, I feel better about myself, I have to spend an additional half hour at the nail salon and hour at the hair dresser. How great! 2. Reinforcement I can't go anywhere these days without running into someone I know and them commenting on my appearance. "Wow! You look so much different!"... "How did you do it??"... "You look amazing!!"... that's just the beginning! Don't even get me started on the male attention!!! How great!! 3. Mind Before the lap band, I spent my down time thinking abut my next meal. I don't do that any more because I'm not obsessed with food. Now I get to read great books to occupy my mind. How great! 4. Money A Lean Cuisene is a feast for me. Because of this, I have saved so much money. The month before I got the band, I spend $76.22 on fast food alone (pizza, tacos, fries, burritos, etc.)... and now I HAVE that money for myself! I spend this money on clothes that are from normal stores, bras from Victoria's Secret and getting my hair done... for me. (I can't begin to even think of all the time I wasted eating, too!). I wrote this to all you who are struggeling. Don't give up because you will be happy some day!!!
  5. Oh, please don't beat yourself up like this. I have learned a lot in the past 6 months. Everyone slips up and although yours is more than a slip, you can recover! I don't know when you were banded, but I know that I used to obsess over what I ate, but after time (and not eating a whole lot), I don't care about eating. You simply need a fill, girl!!! This is why we got this band!!!... we can't diet by ourselves!!!... this is the reason we have the band! All you need is to fill 'er up! As for your husband, if you're anythin g like me, you're sensative about your weight. You can't expect him to walk on eggshells around you (its going to make you both unhappy). Everyone loses weight at different rates. You won't be able to do it without a fill, just like the rest of us! Whatever the result, you know we are here for you. Please please please don't give up. And by the way, what so you care what other people think? It's YOUR journey, not theirs. So you stepped off the path for a moment... the fill is your map back to happiness.
  6. - When will I feel normal??? I felt normal about 2 weeks after surgery - 100%. I was back at work under a week and I was fun. You feel almost back to normal in about a week, maybe less. -When will I be able to sleep on my side without feeling the band/port move around??? You will learn to adjust your sleeping position so it wont move around in there. It's no big deal and after a while, you don't even think about it. -When will I ever burp..I feel like i want to but i can't. I have been walking a lot so I haven't had the shoulder pains or chest pains, i did get neck pains and I felt like I had something stuck in my throat that I wanted to swallow or cough up (found out is was normal) I didn't feel like I had to burp, but my bloating and swelling went down after about a week. - Sometimes I feel my right leg tinggle, like weird! Has anyone experienced that? I didn't... it's probably just asleep since you're laying a lot and resting up to heal. - When should i start taking my Vitamins?? As soon as you can have solids. Until then, have your shakes (they're loaded with nice vitamins for you) *I'm not a doctor, of course, so, take that for what it's worth :-)*
