  1. I've had my lap band for... gee... over two years now! I've lost 80 pounds, I'm HOT and I feel great. I really wanted to lose a few more pounds and by band was at 7cc's. Well, I went in and got .5cc's. MISTAKE I got home and couldn't even swallow my own spit. I was throwing up foamy spit all night last night and even woke up choking on it. I wouldn't swallow my own spit, girls! Can you even imagine!?!? Well, I went in and got .25cc's taken out and boy, do I feel better. I'm on a liquid diet for 48 hours now, but I am just happy to be able to drink some water! ...anyway, that was weird. Interesting night.
  2. This makes me so angry: Sara Rue is on those (annoying) Jenny Craig commercials claiming she lost 55 pounds using the great food plan that Jenny Craig gave her. LIAR. She got the Lap Band and that is how she lost 55 pounds. I don't know how they aren't getting sued for this. It's false advertising. We all know how hard it is to lose weight the traditional way, and they are making it look like no big deal. She did that with the LAP BAND like I did and what makes her so great that she can't admit it? Someone should file a complaint because this is ridiculous.
  3. I'm asking for people who have had their band for a while... so say: 1. how often you puke and 2. how long you've had your band for.
  4. bump it up with another complaint: my mom totally copied me and got the band, too and now she is always complaining about the same things!!! SIGH!!!
  5. Well, I woke up this morning and I felt all better - temp is 98.6. Not a problem!
  6. I've read the the fever (as long as it's under 101° and goes away within 2 days) is nomal.
  7. Is anything wrong? Should I go to the DR or should I just brave it out? I spent the night at the hospital for monitoring 9standard for my DR). It varies between 99.9° and 100.5°. Also, why can't i stay awake for more than 5-10 minutes at a time? The anesthesia?
  8. I had one (ughhhh) and it gave me a bladder infection! P.S. "old" is ten years older than you are. So, yeah, 31 is old (for me, at least) :-)
  9. ...and I'm wondering what to do with this second half of a peach. Woah is me. I have SO many problems. I think I'll so shopping at Victoria's Secret to make myself feel better... I love this band.
  10. Don't reconsider... it's the best decision I ever made. Bypass was too major for me and I didn't want to cut my stomach out.
  11. I'm at 7.5 and I think this is the best fill I have ever had. weight's just falling off, which is nice. What are you at and is it working?
  12. I di well on my liquid diet, but only becaues I knew I HAD to do well or I would die... or so I thought :-) I just didn't want to ruin my band and I was ready to start my weight loss and that was the first step. I was very happy with the liquid dietbecause I lost 50 of the 80 pounds that way!
  13. The upper GI was the worst part of the whole process for me.
  14. I'm not going to lie to you people, I did it 90% to look better and 10% to be healthy. Does that change anything?
  15. I had the band and I lost a bunch of weight and when I tell people how they say, "oh, plastic surgery is so dangerous!" So, is the band plastic surgery?
  16. I am so much happier now - slow but sure, the weight is coming off. I love my band. Happy anniversary, Lap Band.
  17. Sigh... it just keeps getting better. Now I can't gain weight. I ate chocolate on V-day and I stayed the smae.... ahhh
  18. Well, I just bought the Wii game + the step board. You really don't need that yoga mat thinggy.
  19. Omg the only problem I have ever had with the band is constipation! It's horrible! I do yoga to help and it works a little bit, but not enough to do anything major. I get all excited when I actually have one... it's so sad lol... Here's my trick... one day, I eat a little more than regurarly and it seems to work. Also, try drinking a Venti White chocolate Mocha (if you're more than 3 months post op) from Starbucks. I call it my "coffee flavored laxative." lol *Note: Decaf dosen't work.
  20. Okay, gals... I have one thing to tell you: that Wii Fit i AMAZING! I "go to the gym" every day now!!! It's like having a trainer, gym, yoga instructor and motivator all in one (at at home!). It's amazing and I've lost 5 pounds already from it. I love my Wii fit! Plus, it helps with the constipation, for ome strange reason. Anyway, another plus is that when I get food stuck, I do Yoga (the downward facing dog position) and it goes away instantly!!! (up or down lol). It's the best!!!
  21. I love being skinny more than I love cheese.
  22. :thumbup:I just wanted to remind you all how much I love my band. It's the best invention ever. I haven't regretted one second of this. God bless the band and everyone here trying hard to lose the weight and get healthy.
  23. Dude, that really sucks. I'm almost 1 year out and I'm, like, almost 80 pounds down. Have you considered removing the band and getting bypass? The band dosen't work for some people... believe me, it's not your fault at all, so don't feel bad. You're only human and if you made mistakes, so be it, but it's been a year and you must have tried some time in that year. PLEASE don't feel bad and don't get down on yourself. You have depression, this is the last thing you need to add to your problems... it if not your fault at all... do not blame yourself for trying because you have. However... Seriously, consider the bypass. I know that we HATE the bypass here, but it seems like something you should look in to.
