  1. I've had my lap band for... gee... over two years now! I've lost 80 pounds, I'm HOT and I feel great. I really wanted to lose a few more pounds and by band was at 7cc's. Well, I went in and got .5cc's. MISTAKE I got home and couldn't even swallow my own spit. I was throwing up foamy spit all night last night and even woke up choking on it. I wouldn't swallow my own spit, girls! Can you even imagine!?!? Well, I went in and got .25cc's taken out and boy, do I feel better. I'm on a liquid diet for 48 hours now, but I am just happy to be able to drink some water! ...anyway, that was weird. Interesting night.
  2. This makes me so angry: Sara Rue is on those (annoying) Jenny Craig commercials claiming she lost 55 pounds using the great food plan that Jenny Craig gave her. LIAR. She got the Lap Band and that is how she lost 55 pounds. I don't know how they aren't getting sued for this. It's false advertising. We all know how hard it is to lose weight the traditional way, and they are making it look like no big deal. She did that with the LAP BAND like I did and what makes her so great that she can't admit it? Someone should file a complaint because this is ridiculous.
  3. I'm asking for people who have had their band for a while... so say: 1. how often you puke and 2. how long you've had your band for.
  4. I had my band almost a year ago and I have lost around 90 pounds. It's a great feeling. NO food ever tasted as good as being this pretty feels. Please, don't wait another moment because I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Through the port pain and the vomiting, I have never once regretted it. I do have a few complaints, though: 1. Clothes I don't have any that fit. Twelve months ago, "my clothes don't fit" would have meant they were hugging me in all the wrong spots. Now I mean all my clothes are too big. My mom calls me "parachute pants" and it does not hurt my feelings. I have to spend hours upon hours shopping for new clothes in the mall. Since, now, I feel better about myself, I have to spend an additional half hour at the nail salon and hour at the hair dresser. How great! what is my complaint you ask? Well, I'm spending tons of money on clothse that are too loose next week. Sigh... 2. Reinforcement I can't go anywhere these days without running into someone I know and them commenting on my appearance. "Wow! You look so much different!"... "How did you do it??"... "You look amazing!!"... that's just the beginning! Don't even get me started on the male attention!!! How great!! what is my complaint you ask? Well, all anyone wants to talk about it me and I like that a lot, but people only love me for my looks now! Sigh... 3. Mind I used to think every time I went out that people were staring at me because I was so fat. Now I live a normal life. It's so nice. Before the lap band, I spent my down time thinking abut my next meal. I don't do that any more because I'm not obsessed with food. Now I get to read great books, watch cool movies and do so much more stuff... what is my complaint you ask? Well, now I have an occupied mind and sometimes I forget to eat! Sigh... 4. Money A Lean Cuisene is a feast for me. Because of this, I have saved so much money. The month before I got the band, I spend $76.22 on fast food alone (pizza, tacos, fries, burritos, etc.)... and now I HAVE that money for myself! I spend this money on clothes that are from normal stores, bras from Victoria's Secret and getting my hair done... for me. (I can't begin to even think of all the time I wasted eating, too!)... what is my complaint you ask? Well, I'm spending more money than I can make because I'm so pretty I want to adorn myself... sigh... 5. Medications. I know a lot of you gals out there are on a lot of medications and are looking forward to getting the band to get rid of them. Well, I have some bad news. Since I got the band, I actually had to ADD a medication... well, that medication is birth control, but, you know... pills are pills. what is my complaint you ask? Well, that's a pill EVERY DAY! Sigh... So, there you go. Just do it...
  5. bump it up with another complaint: my mom totally copied me and got the band, too and now she is always complaining about the same things!!! SIGH!!!
  6. Okay, well, I'm almost done losing all my weight... I lost 65 and I look and feel great. Here's the thing. I've let all the saline leak out of my band (I don't need it, the band is PLENTY of restriction for me... I'm one of the lucky few)... not a lot gets stuck, and I can't eat a lot in one sitting, either. It's nice.... like... ...I can't eat bread, pasta, carrots or... ummm... well, when my fiancee and I are... physical... orally... and I... swallow... it gets stuck a little bit and I have to drink pineapple juice afterwards and work through it. What the heck is this?? It's freaking weird and a little gross! (by the way... just so no one thinks I'm a slut... that's as far as I go until we're married, so, I'm not that bad.) Don't judge, just tell me if it's ever happened to you and/or what the heck??!?
  7. Is anything wrong? Should I go to the DR or should I just brave it out? I spent the night at the hospital for monitoring 9standard for my DR). It varies between 99.9° and 100.5°. Also, why can't i stay awake for more than 5-10 minutes at a time? The anesthesia?
  8. Well, I woke up this morning and I felt all better - temp is 98.6. Not a problem!
  9. I've read the the fever (as long as it's under 101° and goes away within 2 days) is nomal.
  10. ...and I'm wondering what to do with this second half of a peach. Woah is me. I have SO many problems. I think I'll so shopping at Victoria's Secret to make myself feel better... I love this band.

    Catheter anyone?

I had one (ughhhh) and it gave me a bladder infection! P.S. "old" is ten years older than you are. So, yeah, 31 is old (for me, at least) :-)
  12. Don't reconsider... it's the best decision I ever made. Bypass was too major for me and I didn't want to cut my stomach out.
  13. I'm at 7.5 and I think this is the best fill I have ever had. weight's just falling off, which is nice. What are you at and is it working?

    Liquid diet :(

I di well on my liquid diet, but only becaues I knew I HAD to do well or I would die... or so I thought :-) I just didn't want to ruin my band and I was ready to start my weight loss and that was the first step. I was very happy with the liquid dietbecause I lost 50 of the 80 pounds that way!
  15. The upper GI was the worst part of the whole process for me.
  16. I had the band and I lost a bunch of weight and when I tell people how they say, "oh, plastic surgery is so dangerous!" So, is the band plastic surgery?
  17. I'm not going to lie to you people, I did it 90% to look better and 10% to be healthy. Does that change anything?
  18. I am so much happier now - slow but sure, the weight is coming off. I love my band. Happy anniversary, Lap Band.
  19. Okay, gals... I have one thing to tell you: that Wii Fit i AMAZING! I "go to the gym" every day now!!! It's like having a trainer, gym, yoga instructor and motivator all in one (at at home!). It's amazing and I've lost 5 pounds already from it. I love my Wii fit! Plus, it helps with the constipation, for ome strange reason. Anyway, another plus is that when I get food stuck, I do Yoga (the downward facing dog position) and it goes away instantly!!! (up or down lol). It's the best!!!
  20. Sigh... it just keeps getting better. Now I can't gain weight. I ate chocolate on V-day and I stayed the smae.... ahhh
  21. Well, I just bought the Wii game + the step board. You really don't need that yoga mat thinggy.
  22. Omg the only problem I have ever had with the band is constipation! It's horrible! I do yoga to help and it works a little bit, but not enough to do anything major. I get all excited when I actually have one... it's so sad lol... Here's my trick... one day, I eat a little more than regurarly and it seems to work. Also, try drinking a Venti White chocolate Mocha (if you're more than 3 months post op) from Starbucks. I call it my "coffee flavored laxative." lol *Note: Decaf dosen't work.

I love being skinny more than I love cheese.
