  1. lol... I can see I have my work cut out for me... just to change my mindset. Do you recognize being full?... or is it too late by the time you feel it? I guess it takes 20 minutes for your brain to register normally, is this still the case? Anyhow, I am thinking that anyway I look at this, it's going to be a huge change. Thanks for all the input.
  2. Thanks!... I'll take that advice.
  3. Thanks Doddie and Uli! Great insight!... I would have not thought about it being around the white starches. Are whole grain and high fibre pastas and breads different?
  4. Sooo.. curious? I am likely confirming this too late since I am going in right away but...Many of you have had the lap band for a while. Other than amount of food consumed, are you eventually able to eat almost normally? Anything you absolutley can't eat? Any "don't go there foods"? I know of a few, but was curious what others had to say that have had a lap band for a while... Thanks
  5. I am in at the end of this month. I see you are in mid Feb? Canadian Butterfly
  6. Hi All!... Just about to start my pre-surgery diet... I guess I am to eat a meal replacement shake for all meals over the next few weeks!... Any thought to a good one that worked for you? Canadian Butterfly
  7. Hi again kbfi. The oximetry test is simple and arranged by your doctor at the hospital. I just did one last month. You can ask your doctor to refer you to any hospital or doctor with the machine near you. It was simple and is covered by healthcare.
  8. Hi kbfi! Great way to look at it!.. I am having a bit of an issue around the price as well, however being cheaper than a new car works for me. (Incientally, I am trying to sell my Lincoln Navigator to pay for the operation)...lol I have a tentative date for next month with Dr. Woodhead. And a visit with the anasthesiologist this month. A couple of questions for everyone else... a/ Have any of you that have had the surgery been smokers? b/ What did everyone have as a diet prior to the surgery? Canadian Butterfly
  9. What does it cost to get it done in Mexico? Anyone?
  10. Thanks Maggies! Yes, it looks like I am set for end of January. Still have to visit the anesthesiologist though, so we will see how that all goes. Looks like you have done great in a month! Any learnings? Canadian Butterfly
  11. Just saw Dr. Woodhead for my consult. Great guy!... More presonable that I had imagined! Pre-Op diet consists of a well nourished drink mix for 2 weeks. I asked...
  12. So? It's almost a month later! Where are all yo guys. Learnings? I am loking at getting it done as well.. soo watchi:confused_smile:ng for responses!
  13. Hey there! You got your surgery on Oct 29th... Can you give me a quick update on how things are going a month later? I have also seen Dr. Woodhead and strongly considering the surgery if finances allow it. Getting feedback. Learnings? Updates? Complications? Ideas? etc... most welcome!
  14. Thanks very much Doddie! Very informative... exactly what I wanted to know.
