lol... I can see I have my work cut out for me... just to change my mindset. Do you recognize being full?... or is it too late by the time you feel it? I guess it takes 20 minutes for your brain to register normally, is this still the case? Anyhow, I am thinking that anyway I look at this, it's going to be a huge change. Thanks for all the input.

Thanks Doddie and Uli! Great insight!... I would have not thought about it being around the white starches. Are whole grain and high fibre pastas and breads different?

Sooo.. curious? I am likely confirming this too late since I am going in right away but...Many of you have had the lap band for a while. Other than amount of food consumed, are you eventually able to eat almost normally? Anything you absolutley can't eat? Any "don't go there foods"? I know of a few, but was curious what others had to say that have had a lap band for a while... Thanks

Hi again kbfi. The oximetry test is simple and arranged by your doctor at the hospital. I just did one last month. You can ask your doctor to refer you to any hospital or doctor with the machine near you. It was simple and is covered by healthcare.

Hi kbfi! Great way to look at it!.. I am having a bit of an issue around the price as well, however being cheaper than a new car works for me. (Incientally, I am trying to sell my Lincoln Navigator to pay for the operation)...lol I have a tentative date for next month with Dr. Woodhead. And a visit with the anasthesiologist this month. A couple of questions for everyone else... a/ Have any of you that have had the surgery been smokers? b/ What did everyone have as a diet prior to the surgery? Canadian Butterfly

Thanks so much Doddie. I would welcome more information. Where can I email you at? Some of the things that I want to know is: 1. Preperation - Some of you talk about preparing... what does this look like? 2. Protien shakes are spoken of alot, are these generic? 3. Fills - Expected costs associated, how often, for how long? 4. Does expented medical cover any of this? 5. What to expect afterwards? Weight loss, how much? 6. Eating habits afterwards? 7. Can you see/feel the fill sack? 8. Excess skin? Options?.... Anyone dealing with this? I can think of a million more, however....
