  1. YAY SASSY37! Way to go! 28 lbs is fantastic!
  2. Thank You Chicamam1, I appreciate your encouragement. I know I am one of those who takes a little bit longer to heal. I did call my Dr's nurse and she said that I should keep taking th Lortab at night a little bit before I go to bed. She said that it was all normal! She said the port was probably in tact but that it was probably the nerve endings that caused the burning. I am feeling a little bit better every day. Again, Thanks!
  3. I too was banded on 09/29 and am still having pain . Don't get discouraged. Healing takes time. I have been taking the liquid Lortab up until this am. I am trying to get by on just the tylenol from today on as I have to drive this week. If it weren't for that I would still be on the Lortab! Take it easy and hang in there!
  4. I did this today; you have to try it! If you like cheesecake that is. Jello has a cheesecake pudding (SF of course). I used @3tablespoons of the chcake pudding with a small amount of strawberry (SF of course) jello and it was heavenly. I am sick of all the sweet stuff but this was really good!:tt2:
  5. No fair! I don't get to have chicken salad! I love chicken salad. I can have egg salad and tuna salad. They are alright though. UMMMMM! I'm getting hungry! :tt2:
  6. SF Pudding is on my Dr's liquid list. I have been eating it since the day after surgery (in small amounts) @1/4c a sitting (@1/2 a prepared container). I take it slow as fullness sneaks up on me and before I know it I am FULL! I eat it one lick at a time!:tt2:
  7. I can relate Marcie1997! Hopefully it will get better for us both. I had my surgery on 09/29 the day before you!
  8. Thanks for the ideas everyone. I did try stacking pillows in my bed and that's when I felt a huge burning at the port site. I went back to my chair. I am walking (have been since the minute I got out of surgery). That is okay it's the laying down I can't seem to grasp. My backside is tired of being sat upon. I'm doing okay as far as eating and getting up and down. It's just the laying down that has me frustrated. I am doing okay with the hunger. Trying to embrace it as my friend. I know alot of what I do in regards to eating is mental (at least for me) but a cheeseburger or taco :drool:would be just fabulous right about now! (Oh did I say that out loud?)
  9. I had surgery on Monday 09/29 and I have not been able to lay down yet. I am sleeping in a chair and I am tired of sitting. When I try to lay down I have this awful burning in the port area. It sometimes takes my breath away when it happens. This also happens upon slight bending or twisting. I think I ripped the port out of place tonight! Is this possible? Is this burning feeling normal? Did anyone else have this happen? Any ideas? Help?
  10. I was banded on the 29th of Sept. I am starting to feel like I can move a little easier today. I'm getting hungry for real food! I am looking forward to mushies (I hate that word) next week. I am doing my 30 minutes of walking. I think this has helped with the "gas" issue. Anyone who says this is the easy way out clearly does not know what they are talking about! I still have some burning in the port area when I make certain movements. But over all I think I'm doing pretty well. I couild not imagine going to work yet. Thanks for Short term disability!
  11. Just a FYI My Target store has marked down the South Beach diet protien pour in drink mix similiar to the K2O. They must not have sold very well! They were @ half price. The sale by date is 09/09 so they are not outdated or anything like that. They have a wonderful tropical fruit flavor and strawberry bannana flavor. Yummo!
  12. I had my surgery yesterday. Man am I in pain. I didn't think it would hurt this much but what was I thinking? I cannot lay down without my tummy burning and aching. So I am sleeping in a chair. Getting up and about. Walking as much as possible in 10 min incriments. I have a Q-pump that feeds pain med to my port area. But it still hurts. I'm trying to sleep as much as possible. I'm trying to stay on top as far as taking my meds. I hope this gets better fast.
  13. Good Luck to you all! May you have a great surgery without any complications! Sash
  14. Just like dwrd73 I too dilute the K2O with more water than it calls for. It's really great with alot of ice. I mix it and put it in a cup with alot of crushed ice and it's like a legal slushy. :tongue2:
  15. Thanks ya'll! I'm glad to see you made it home safe Becky! Good luck on your surgery slim-n-tn! I am getting excited. This next 4 days will be hard to wait.
  16. I never asked.... Can I just be a September Samurai or do I have to ask? I was so excited to find this board and be a member of this community I just assumed.........
  17. I love the Strawberri Kiwi! But since it does have 30 calories I limit myself to 1 a day.
  18. crystalM I have not had my surgery yet but I can imagine any major life change can bring on depression. I wonder...............do you think maybe it's part of grieving. Your life will never be the same again. That is sometimes hard even though it may sound strange, the changes in your life will be positive, but your life is changing in a major way! One other thing that comes to mind is that your body has undergone a major change and maybe some of it is your bodys physical reaction to those changes. I know you probably want to be happy at this time. Don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone reacts differently to change. I just want to encourage you to hang in there and always know it is okay to cry. p.s. don't be afraid to talk to your Dr or the nurse!
  19. ambraberger, yes the people here are very supportive of my surgery too. I will keep in touch on a daily basis as I need to talk to other people who know what I am going through. I appreciate your encouragement. Thanks
  20. I went for my preop today and if it weren't for my husband I probably would not have completed it. I am getting a little nervous. Make that alot nervous. He really encouraged me it is the right thing to do and reminded me it is something I have waited to do for a long time. I guess it is normal to be nervous. On a good note..... There was a lady in the class my Dr requires we take and she was 4 years out (her husband was having the procedure this time she was there to support him) she said she would never allow someone to take her band out. If they ever tried she said they'd have to fight her for it. I guess that says alot. It made me feel a little better. I guess I am just afraid of the unknown. I think without this surgery I would have a snowballs chance in hell to ever reach my goal. So I guess I just have to work through the fear and keep my mind on the positives. Does anyone have any thoughts?
  21. Good Luck You All!
  22. 9pdmnm5 I too have had a hard time recovering from the anastesia myself. That is one of my main concerns. I am hoping this time will be better. I go for what my Dr's office calls Bariatric University on Monday and do my preop at the hospital right after. Pradice73 I hope you feel better soon. I am so excited to find some buddies to walk through this process with. I will be on here frequently as I want to be prepared for whatever may come. Thanks for the encouragement Mutt! I know I need all the help I can get.
  23. Hi! I am new to the board. I am scheduled to have the Lapband on 09/29. I am both excited and apprehensive. I joined this board hoping to find some support for the changes coming into my life as a result of the surgery. I in turn hope to be a support to those on this board also as my experience allows. Any advice and tips are appreciated. Just a few facts about me you may like to know..... I am the mother of 6 children ages range from 25-11 one girl (she's the oldest! and five boys) My highschool sweetheart and I have been married for 26 wonderful years I work full time as an Insurance Agent for a major Property and Casualty insurer I love quilting and spending time with my family I have learned through the pre-op liquid diet that I am an emotional eater. I am having a really hard time sticking to the diet but I am trying. I am so glad to have found this site and look forward to making some great friends!
  24. Hi I am a newbie. This is my first post. I need as much support as I can get. My Lapband is scheduled for 09/29! I am both excited and a little scared.
