  4. Has anyone been able to get the lap band surgery despite that fact that there insurance excludes the procedure, credit is bad and cant get financing, and no co signer? I seem to be in this situation, and as much as I want/need the surgery....I think the dream of getting healthy is slowly fading bc of the financial issue. I guess this really isnt a question, just me venting. thanks for listening.

    Im stuck

So either ther stuck food eventually goes down, or you throw it up? I mean....lol...it wont stay stuck for along time, right??
  6. Hi I had the old type of sleeve 15 years ago and it did not work , I had it removed 18 months later. I have many friends that have the band and they all have problems. Either too tight and throw up all the time of too loose and gaining weight, port flipping and band slippage. One fiend just had to have polups removed from the inside of her stomach where the band is. I did not want to be tied to a doctor the rest of my life for adjustments. I am not happy with my sleeve right now because I am at 6 weeks today and I had a 10 oz marie calenders pot pie for lunch and I was not over full. Not sure what I am going to do. Everyone says eat only hard meat , if I could do that I would not need the wls. thanks judy

  7. Hi I had the old style band 15 yrs ago it did not work and I had it removed 19 mo later. Everyone I know with the band have trouble like either its to tight and they throw up all the time or not tight enough and they gain. I do not want to be tied to a doctor the rest of my life to get adjustments. I went with the sleeve for that reason. I wish I had had the mini bypass now. I can eat 8-10 oz at 6 weeks today. the other people I have spoken with can only eat 2-4 so I am not loosing any weight . I may have to go back and be converted to the mini bypass. I am not happy right now with anything wls related . good luck judy

    Fill vs. aggressive fill

Now this is hard...I really like the doctor in every other aspect....except that I want the best care possible, and if that includes an aggressive fill...I will have to pay $400 out of pocket PER fill. I guess I need to do some thinking...

    Fill vs. aggressive fill

Yea. I thought that seemed weird....Everything else about the program I love, except that I might have to pay $400 for an aggressive fill! The doctor said that an aggressive fill is when they do it under an xray and have me drink water and they can watch on a tv to see how fast/slow it travels to my stomach to see how much of a fill they need to give me....I dunno. Now I am confused. Thanks tho!
  10. Hello, I have finally chosen my doctor for my surgery! I have one question that maybe you guys and gals can help me answer. The price that I am paying includes aftercare and fills for one year. But if I need an "aggressive fill" it will cost me $400 extra each fill. Do you know the difference and why I would need an " aggressive fill" as opposed to the normal fill? Thanks! Cari

  14. Hello, my name is Cari. I have been researching online for about 2 months now about the Lap Band. I just watched a video online today that showed a woman who had the lap band and lost 60lbs in 6 months, and then said she was puking all the time and could only eat like icecream and chips and stuff, and she gained a ton of weight back. Is this because of the lap band, or bc she didnt follow the rules of banding? She was blaming the band for making her sick all the time and for her not being able to eat healthy foods.....I just need to know if I get the band and if I follow the rules..that I will lose. Seems that I have heard alot of people getting food stuck and then it coming back up. Just kinda freaked me out....I plan on getting the band, and I will be commited to the lifestyle change. Thanks for the help!
