  1. Has anyone been able to get the lap band surgery despite that fact that there insurance excludes the procedure, credit is bad and cant get financing, and no co signer? I seem to be in this situation, and as much as I want/need the surgery....I think the dream of getting healthy is slowly fading bc of the financial issue. I guess this really isnt a question, just me venting. thanks for listening.
  2. So either ther stuck food eventually goes down, or you throw it up? I mean....lol...it wont stay stuck for along time, right??
  3. Now this is hard...I really like the doctor in every other aspect....except that I want the best care possible, and if that includes an aggressive fill...I will have to pay $400 out of pocket PER fill. I guess I need to do some thinking...
  4. Yea. I thought that seemed weird....Everything else about the program I love, except that I might have to pay $400 for an aggressive fill! The doctor said that an aggressive fill is when they do it under an xray and have me drink water and they can watch on a tv to see how fast/slow it travels to my stomach to see how much of a fill they need to give me....I dunno. Now I am confused. Thanks tho!
  5. Hello, I have finally chosen my doctor for my surgery! I have one question that maybe you guys and gals can help me answer. The price that I am paying includes aftercare and fills for one year. But if I need an "aggressive fill" it will cost me $400 extra each fill. Do you know the difference and why I would need an " aggressive fill" as opposed to the normal fill? Thanks! Cari
  6. are lap band adjustments the same as fills?
  7. hey there, i am from missouri and currently looking for doc to band me. what was your experience with dr. Pitt? and what does this cost include? i would love to talk more with you about this, i have been looking for someone who has had surgery in missouri!
  8. now that i tihnk about it, yes....it was for a surgeon trying to promote the mini gastric bypass. i just didnt know they did that! i will watch what i believe next time, thank you!
  9. Hello, my name is Cari. I have been researching online for about 2 months now about the Lap Band. I just watched a video online today that showed a woman who had the lap band and lost 60lbs in 6 months, and then said she was puking all the time and could only eat like icecream and chips and stuff, and she gained a ton of weight back. Is this because of the lap band, or bc she didnt follow the rules of banding? She was blaming the band for making her sick all the time and for her not being able to eat healthy foods.....I just need to know if I get the band and if I follow the rules..that I will lose. Seems that I have heard alot of people getting food stuck and then it coming back up. Just kinda freaked me out....I plan on getting the band, and I will be commited to the lifestyle change. Thanks for the help!
  10. tarheel....when you had to get fills, did you go back to colorado? or find a fill doctor closer to where you live?
