  1. I am about to have my 2nd fill. So far I feel no change. I was wondering what type of changes in eating habits did you notice? Gail
  2. I had the Relize Band in September. I was not given a choice, the Dr. recommended the Relize Band. My first choice was Gastric By-pass, however, during that surgery, it could not be completed due to too much scar tissue and the surgery was stopped. My 2nd choice was gastric band.
  3. Thanks for the info Jodi. _______________ Gail
  4. Hello from North Carolina. Welcome to the forum. I had the Relize Band in September. I was scared too, but the surgery is not bad at all, not as bad as I thought it would be. Good luck, I will be thinking of you tomorrow. Post when you can and let us know how it goes. _____________ Gail Relized Band September 15 First fill November 5
  5. Hello everyone! I have only had 1 band fill so far. I had the Relize Band in September. How many fills do I need to eat less? 6. Hello, I am diabetic also and take a lot meds so I have a good trick to get them down. If they can be crushed (check with doctor) mix them with sugar free choc pudding. Choc pudding is yummy! Applesauce does not work as well as far as covering the taste of the bitter ones, and I have some nasty tasting ones. _____________________ Gail Relize Band 9/15/08
  7. Congrats! I know how you feel, every pound lost makes me excited. I am at 246 and have not seen that number in a long time. It may still be a big number, however, it is not as big as the one I started with. I am happy for you, keep up the good work.
  8. I just had my first band fill on Wednesday. I was scared too, but when it was done there was nothing to it. Just a little numbing medicine then a little pressure. I go for another fill on 11/26/08. You might know I would have one the day before Thanksgiving. This will be my first Holiday after being banded. So much food to pick from and only a little room to put it. (saving room for my Mom's dressing:tt2:) Not sure how to handle it.
  9. Hi everybody, I just had my 2 week post-op checkup. Good report, from my pre-op visit until now, I have lost 24 lbs. I am so excited that the scales are finely moving in the right direction (DOWN). I go back in 3 weeks for my first fill. Can anyone tell me if it hurts, and how they find the port? _____________ Gail Surgery - Realize Band 9/15/08
  10. Hi Becky, Congrats on moving on to the next phase. I get to move on today also. I'm looking forward to some good hot creamy soup. I have not had my first fill yet and feel like I could eat anything and everything. Trying not to do that is really hard for me, but I have made it so far. How about you? I was banded on Sept. 15. _________________ Gail

  19. Hi Loretta, I am just about to finish my 2 week diet since I am having my surgery Monday 9/15. I am nervous too but also excited. I have been thru part of this before, so I know what to expect. I attempted to have RNY in July but they were unable to complete the surgery due to too much scar tissue from my hyst. year ago. The Dr. said that it was to dangerous to continue, so he had to stop half way thru. :tt2: I was so upset afterwards, but now I look at this as my 2nd chance and hope everything goes better this time around. I will post afterwards and let you know how it goes. _______________ Gail
  20. I had a sleep study several years ago and I do use a c-pap machine, so I did not have to take another one for the surgery. I am in hopes that when I start losing I can get rid of the machine. (if that ever happens). I only took pj's and toothpaste and toothbrush, hair brush. No shower taken there only when I got home.:rolleyes2: It's not to bad, watch tv until lights out time.
  21. Hello 2nd2none1, I'm new here and was wondering who did your band? I am having lapband Monday, 9/15 in Charlotte.
