  2. Good luck Crystal, you are in my thoughts!
  3. Can I ask why there are 2 threads for this? Is this the updated thread? I noticed that my stats have been corrected. I'm in no matter where we post!!! My goal for this month is to hit at least 179. I want OUT of the 180's! Good luck everyone!
  4. Hello everyone, I can't believe it is september already! As always I had a change on thursday. I dropped to 185 lbs. That puts me down 2 lbs from what it says on the first post. I don't care if it isn't updated until next week, I am just sayin'
  5. I am one who gains during and loses it after, so there could be some truth to it.
  6. Wow! I wonder if I will have to go over 4cc's to get restriction. I have had my 4th fill and am at 3.1 cc's and I think I am just about there. I am getting satisfied with less food. I am getting there.
  7. No changefor me this week. Aunt flo is visiting and I won't lose until after it is over.
  8. I don't really need it because when they do it right it isn't that bad. When they are not over the port it stings. At least it does for me.
  9. I didn't know him but my heart goes out to his wife and family. He sounds like a special person. May he rest in piece. My prayers go out to his family.
  10. I asked the NP about the possibility of damaging my tubing and she told me that the needle is designed so that it doesn't actually poke. I forget how it actually works because I didn't hear it all. My kids were being loud when I was talking to her. If you looke at the tip of the needle it has a curve to it. It is the same thing with the needles to access implaned ports for IV medications. Still I worry because I have never been sore after a fill. The fact that he was pushing and pressing on my port has to be a factor as well, but regardless he will not be touching me again!
  11. I am pretty sore and a bit swollen. At least there is no bruise. The NP is trained to do fills, I am going to either beg her to do it next time or have the other doctor. I would have said something sooner but I didn't realize till the end how far up he was. Here is a pic. You can see most of the pokes up near my scar and down at the bottom you can see 2 spots 1 on top of the other, that is where he should have poked me. The bottom one was where he was dead on. I just talked to the NP and she said that she would do it next time. She said that he was probably distracted by the other guys. I say thats no excuse, but she said that he is a good guy and wouldn't hurt me like that on purpose, but he won't be doing my fills anymore.
  12. Ok, here is the deal. I was the first patient to have my lap band placed by my doctor. He was awsome! He always asked my opinion and input on what was going on. Sadly, he is leaving at the end of the month. The NP in the office, whom I absolutely love, set me up with one of the other doctors in the practice. He is also new at the lap band thing. He gave me my 3rd fill and it went fairly well since it was the first time doing it in the office. It only took him 2 times to hit the center of my port. I called yesterday and got in for today to get another fill. He came in the room with 2 residents with out asking if it were ok. They each felt my port. It feels like a bruise when he touches it. He got ready and before he cleaned my skin I pointed to the spot that he used last time and I said "right here where this spot is, is where you got it last time." He didn't say anything and cleaned my skin and then poke 1, he missed, poke 2 and 3 he missed. It stung soooo bad when he wasn't over the port. Poke 4 he completely missed and I could feel it go past the port and said something. Poke 5 still not right and he said that I had the scar there and that could be why it stung so bad. At that point I realized that he was near my scar and not down low enough. Poke 6 he hit it good enough and drew back fluid and then added my new 1/2 a cc. I looked at my stomach and I was right that he was right under the scar about a good inch away from the small scab from 2 weeks ago. I asked for a bandaid because my stomach looked like mince meat. He put a steri strip over it. As he tried to explain the steri strip I looked at him and said, "Do you know that I am a nurse?" He told me no with kind of a shocked look on his face. He asked me a few questions about that and then he and 1 of the others left the room while the other one listened to my stomach, heart and lungs. I was very upset as I thought about the situation. I didn't say anything but I am thinking of telling the NP when I call her tomorrow. Would anyone else be upset at the lact of personal attention? He didn't even listen when I pointed and told him where he got me last time. Maybe I am just blowing this out of perportion but he could have nicked my tubing. I don't know, but thanks for reading (listening) Hugs everyone!
  13. Well as usual, I see an improvement on thursday (today) when it is not weigh in day, I hope I have an even bigger loss to report next wednesday. Also, the doctor's scale decided to agree with mine today. 2 weeks ago my scale said one thing and theirs said 3 lbs more.I was not happy. My scale is pretty consistant but theirs seems to be off. I go by my scale. Anyway, I got a fill today now I have 3.1 cc in my 4 cc band. I think I actually feel some restriction. I could have kicked my doctor though. I am going to post on that because I really need to vent about it and here isn't the place, so look for my thread titled "Why didn't he listen?" And let me know how you would have felt. Thanks in advance.
  14. Not that I want to get involved, but I heard it as "actions speak louder than words."
  15. Pills are ok and motrin is ok once in a while, just make sure that you eat first before taking them. The issue of Motrin came up for me recently and my office said that I could take them once in a great while but anything more and I would have to be on a proton pump inhibitor. Good luck and I hope you feel better.
