I got banded on 31 oct and was driving on the 2nd nov .I have been driving every day since no problems.

Psychologically i would prefered to have it done in my own town .But at £7500 -£8000 i soon got my mind round that one .Then it was just a case of finding a surgeon that a lot of people spoke highly of and had no problems with and i have not heared any body say anything bad about going to belgium and having surgery with dr chris de bruyne.

Hi im just back from been banded from dr chris 4 days ago.In my info pack in says (Q) am i allowed to go deap sea diving. (A )please contact dr de bruyne for useful diving instructions.Dont know if this helps maby send him an email see what he says.

I was on the waiting list for 2 years and was then told to come back and see the surgeon in 6 months.So i decided then do go private so im just back from belgium having surgery with dr chris de bruyne on sun 31 oct .The total cost for flights from uk hotel and all taxis for me and my partner to go over was £3600.The surgeon comes over once a month to the uk and does the fills for £100.Hope this helps.

I was banded on the 31st oct and flew home 2 days later .I asked the surgeon about flying he said no problem.I thought i was going to get a restriction but there was none.

Hi chel82 I had booked up with one companay and the good people on this site had told me about a package that includes hotel and taxis so i took that offer and that had an earlier date.

Thank you j j i apprecite the info .Its good to know there is people willing to give you loads of advice .It makes the whole process a little bit easier.Yes i will be taking some one with me i will be a bag of nerves on the day of the op.lol

Im just under 6ft too.So my 23 stone doesnt seem too bad . Alot of people in my work cant belive my weight when i told them they thiought i was only about 17/18 stone and said i did not need the op.But youl know your self its whats you feel in your head and how you feel mentaly.I will keep you posted how im going and please let me know how well your doing yourself.

I have got about 2 stone to lose haha more like 10 im 23 stone just now and hope to get down to about 13.Over the last 10 years i have lost eight stone then put it all back on again .I then started dieting again and lost 7 stone and over the years it has crept back on .Hopefully with the band i can get it off and keep it off.

Thats brilliant i hope it comes off me as quick lol.What is your diet been this week have you eat much?Is there alot of constriction when your eating?

hi flirtylass i contacted frederik and he is doing the package for me so thank you for your advice you have saved me a lot of hassle and a few bob.I have accepted a earlier date he gave me so i am just waiting for confermation from him.The only thing i am not to sure of is how do you pay the deposit ?Do you just go to the bank and give them his account details or is it by cheque?.

I think i will try and keep my date in november as i am going to spain on october .That will be my last blow out so im going to enjoy it.lol

Hi thanks for the reply.I think it would be better if i could get the same package as yourself it would save me worring about all the transfers to and from the hospital and hotel.I originaly booked up with europe surgery which booked the op with dr chris .Do you have a direct email address of either frederik or dr chris so i could see if i could get that package.Thanks for the help

Hi ursula thanks for the reply I have got a few questions if thats ok. What hotel did you stay in any was it any good and was it far from the airport and how much was the taxi.? I have to meet dr chris at 8pm the night before the op at his house.Did you have to do this and what happens at the consultation? Is his place far from the hotel and how much did this cost ? I hear you have to stay in belgium for another day after the op.Do you have to go back to the hospital to see him before you fly home? And finaly did you have much to eat the day before the op .Sorry for all the questions but you will know your self your wanting every thing to run smoothly when you get there.Hope your feeling well?

Just got my date in for 11/11/08 in belgium with dr chris de buryne.

Hi just thought i would say hello from scotland.Just got my date in for my surgery in belgium with Dr chris de bruyne 11/11/08.After waiting for 2 years on a waiting list on the nhs i went back to see the surgen that would be doing my op and he told me to come back and see him in a year as there was no funding.So after doing alot of reserch on going private i found that Dr chris de bruyne does the surgery in belgium for £3200.So that was that a trip to the bank manager and an email to europe surgery and all booked up .Cant wait,:thumbup:
