  1. Yep, it really was meant for you. Keep up the good work!

  2. I just had to stop by and so you look amazing. Not that you did not look amazing before, but you can really see a difference in your pictures with your weight loss. Keep up the great work!

  3. Great picture Teal!

I am still sick. I am using my inhaler a lot. On the weekends I am in bed resting, because this cold just will not go away. :-(

  4. Laurie, good luck to you with your surgery on March 23. :-)

  5. Hi Theresa. I am doing well. I have been staying away from the cold and flu bug. But I am having some hormonal issues, which have my over all well being all out of whack.

I find out the results of my lab work tomorrow, so hopefully we can get these medical issues resolved.

    How did your surgery go?

  6. Hi Laurie: How did your appointment go with Dr. Kim? What tests do you have to do? It really won't be that much longer before you get a surgery date.

Once you complete your tests, barring no issues from the test, they will submit everything to the insurance company for approval. Once the insurance company approves the procedure you will get a surgery date within 24-hours of surgery approval, unless approval occurs on a Friday afternoon, then you would hear something on Monday.

  7. Heather, did you make it to the ER? Is everything okay?

  8. Hi Teal: The root-canal is still bothering me so I am going to call the dentist today. I still having swelling and throbbing pain.

The fill is working great and weight loss is down a couple more pounds.

  9. OMG, Teresa, I bet you hear from Helen or Myra tomorrow. This so exciting. It is amazing what the endoscopy can see and let you know is an issue. So you are going to have the gastric right?? I am so happy for you.

My fill is doing good. My exercise is increasing. My gums are still swollen. I am still taking the antibiotics and vicodin. I am going to call the dentist tomorrow, because the swelling just doesn't feel right.

  10. Hi Susie. Good to hear from you. I find I have more control of food portions with the band. That is what I love about the band. You can only eat so much and if you try to eat beyond it, you can get sick.

    When is your band date?

  11. Oh Teresa, you are so very close. If I recall, I completed my last test on October 13 at Manteca Hospital. It was the Upper GI. The doctor was very quick and had the results to Dr. Kim on October 14. Dr. Kim submited the paper work and her report to the insurance company on October 15 and I was approved by the insurance on October 16. It won't be much longer for you.

The fills are easy to get, no pain and they provide the striction I need. Right now I am recovering from a root-canal, which really really hurts. But other than that, I am doing great!

I bet you hear something by early next week.

  12. Hi Teresa:

I am doing great and at my appointment, I lost another 7-pounds in four weeks. It looks like on average, I am losing 2 pounds a week, which is just fine by me. Dr. Kim gave me another fill of 1-cc, so now I have 5cc in a 10cc band. I have great restriction so far and I am this fill lasts for awhile.

I have no doubt you will be hearing from the center very soon. If I recall, all my results were sent to the insurance company, because there were no issues. And then I received my insurance approval in less than 24 hours, which was shocking to me.

I did not meet with Dr. Kim to discuss the test results.

Let me know how it goes. You are very close!!!! Congrats.

  13. Barring no complications from your test results, you will get a surgery date rather quickly. So hurry and get the tests done. You are so very close. I am doing well and have a fill this Wed with Dr. Kim. I am not sure about weight loss. I know I am losing my scale sucks! Dr. Kim's scale is really accurate. I lost three pant sizes and I am well onto losing another 1. Yahoo!!!

Keep in touch and let me know how everything goes with the tests.

  14. Hi Jasmine: It is really hard to read the writing of the meds on the discharge paper work provided to me, but I believe it is Scopalamine Transdermal patch 1.5 mg.

I hope you get to feeling better.

    Take care,

    Terry

  15. Hi Teresa:

How exciting that you are getting closer and closer to your surgery. Before you know it you will be in post-op. I really considered both surgeries and believe both will get the job done in helping people lose weight.

What tests do you need to complete this week?

  16. Thank you Barbie: How are you feeling?

  17. Hi:

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a type of bacteria. Researchers believe that H. pylori is responsible for the majority of peptic ulcers. The test is done with a stool sample provided by the patient.

    Good luck!

  18. I love your new aviator!!!!!

  19. Hello Wayno38: My surgeon is Dr. Kim at Alta Bates hospital in Oakland, California. She is a fantastic surgeon. Very young and hip. She listens to my needs and accomodates my requests. The only down side is that she is located 85 miles from my home.

So do you live in L.I. NY or is that where you are having surgery? I thought it was cold here in Cali, but I can see I am better off here on the West Coast. :-)

  20. Hi Teresa: I am sorry you have to wait so long, but if you can get your BMI down quicker then you can have the surgery that much sooner. Try replacing one meal with a protein drink of some type.

I actually did this prior to even seeing the surgeon. I just wanted to see how I would do. Increase your walking by 5 minutes a week. So if you are at 20 minutes a day on week one, then week two up it to 25 minutes. You can do this. Don't overwhelm yourself by doing to much. Just little modifications slowly.

I hear that the gastric bypass can immediately help diminish diabetes issues. I think that is amazing. You need to pick the procedure that is best for your health. And if you doctor recommends the gastric than go for it.

    Happy holidays!

  21. My weight loss total today is 32 pounds. I am keeping everything down. I have great restriction and I am eating arounf 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day. Please I continue to exercise 5x a week. I have dropped thee pants sizes and my clothes are so lose. I want to buy some clothes the day after Xmas. Hoping for great holiday sales. :-)

  22. Hi Teresa: I am trying to stay warm. I have a big pot of chicken/turkey chili simmering on the stove this cold Sunday morning.

I am doing well. I am feeling drained, but I think it has something to do with my increased workouts and the cold is around our office too.

I had my first fill last week, which went really well. No pain. I actually talked to Helen the whole time, while Dr. Kim placed the needles in my stomach. The first needle was a numbing agent and the second needle was the fill.

I lost .5cc from the surgery fill. At the time of surgery, Dr. Kim placed 3cc in, but last week should took the fill out to see what was left. And all that was left was 2.5cc. She put that back in and added 1.5cc. I now have 4cc and great restriction.

Let me know how your appointment goes with the doctor. It is very exciting!!! Good luck.

  23. Hi Teresa: They did no require me to lose 10% overall body weight. I thought they would but they did not. I did lose 10 pounds though.
