  1. Interesting Mistydaz! lol A little OCD maybe? I know lots of "pickers"...your not a freak :crying: renita
  2. SickNTired--that could be the case and I didn't think about that beforehand. I will tell them tomorrow if I need additional band-aids--thanks for the advice :crying: Renita
  3. Thanks NRPNRP! I feel better each day and your date will be here before you know it. I know this is healing time but I did get on the scales and have lost 4 pounds since my surgery date Wednesday...I can't wait to get back to my walking, I was up to 2 miles a day before surgery and I know I will have to start back over slow but think that it will help me feel even better. It is hard managing all of the vitimans, water, broth because you can't drink while you eat and you have to space everything out but it is all falling into place. I am excited for everyone and can't wait to hear more great stories! Renita
  4. I had my surgery on Wednesday the 8th and I am thinking now it is just the steri-strips that are itching? I always turd red if I even wear a band-aid for a long amount of time. My skin must be really sensitive. I go Monday for a "wound check" I will ask if I can use anything around the site for the itch. Thanks so much for the reply and good luck with your success..peeing and all!! lol renita
  5. Hello everyone... Anyone itching at their incision sites...my mom said that means it is healing but it takes all I have not to want to scratch. Other than that every day is better post op Renita.
  6. Hello Everyone... My surgery was Wednesday the 8th and I can say that every day it gets better!! I was able to get a shower today and feel like a million bucks! lol The hardest part for me is trying to drink enough liquids throughout the day. I am just not thirsty or hungry. I did eat some broth last night. The protein shots have been best for me--I just don't think my stomach can handle the protein shakes at this point. Good luck to everyone, glad to hear all is going well. Renita
  7. Thanks Lori, I was glad to get home and in the bed! I think that this soreness is worst than my c-sections were..not to scare anyone  I guess because with my sections there was a low cut and it was in a general area whereas these little "holes" are spread out like a clock..there is no "good spot".lol Everyday will be better though Anyway, everyone take care! Renita
  8. Hey Everyone! My surgery was today and all went well. I do have lots of pain I mean not severe just sore like I have been kicked in the guts by a mule.lol Other than that everything went fine. I was scheduled to be there for 10 am--actually got banded around 12:30. Then in recovery a short time and back to mt room to pee and walk, once I did that I was able to go home  I did throw up on the way home from the car ride and once a little while ago because I got uo to quickly to go use the bathroom. Can't wait to heal and move forward. Good Luck to everyone, Renita
  9. Good Morning All... I am getting banded at 10:00 this morning..really nervous! Good luck to everyone! I will post after when I am feeling up to it and let you all know how it went. HAPPY BAND-DAY :tt1:
  10. Hey Smashing Pumpkins! I did all of my pre-admit stuff today and my consent with the doctor..really excited..can't believe one more day until Band-Day! October 8th :crying: Good luck to everyone for tomorrow and of course Wednesday. Renita
  11. renewedhope, Thanks for joining the Smashing Pumpkins-08's! I think all of us appreciate someone who has some expierence.. You have done great it sounds and deserve your bandiversary gift. I am hoping to have that same "gift" in a year or so myself.. I would love to see a before picture if you have one. You look great in your current one. Maybe you can start a thread asking where are some of your October 07 Bandsters--one year post op? I am hoping most of us can continue to communicate with each other for support.. Congrats to everyone who has been banded so far and to the 10-6 people and 10-7's coming up!!--I will be Wednesday 10-8 right behind y'all:thumbup: Renita
  12. Good luck to all of you October 1st bandsters!! I will say a prayer that all goes well tomorrow for everyone! Please post as soon as you feel up to it and let us know all is well with each of you. Renita
  13. Hi Rhonda. I am totally with ya on that!! I started the pre-op diet Friday and it is kicking my butt!! It is hard I think because when your banded you KNOW that you have that "restriction"--kinda like being pregnant and watching everything you eat or meds that you take.. I could always do good when I had something like that in the back of my mind. I have diabietes so my sugar dipped way low today and I felt really bad but I am better now and need to be more careful since I am still on my diabetic meds and not really eating anything (carbs-etc) Anyway take care--glad you found us--great support us Pumpkins!! Welcome-- Renita
  14. Hey Cindy, I was wondering how everything was going. 16.2 lbs is GREAT!! I can't wait until I am on "the other side".lol:wink2: Are you still walking? Renita
  15. Welcome animalover! I live in mississippi also. I will be banded on Oct.8th. This is a great site!! Lots of information... Join the pre-op October Bandsters posts, there is a list of all of us "Smashing Pumpkins".lol Renita
  16. Thanks for posting! I have lost 13 lbs myself since starting first cutting back and now on the pre-op diet given to me on Friday..two Protein shakes a day and one Smart Ones or Lean Cuisine. October 6 is very close--I know your excited! Are you on our Smashing Pumpkins threads? There are a group of October Bandsters that are on a list...look under pre-op forum and search for the topic "Any October Bandsters". My date is right behind you on 10-8. Keep in touch and let me know how it all goes! Renita
  17. My pre-op diet consists of: 1 EAS protein shake for breakfast 1 EAS protein shake for lunch 1 Smart Ones or Lean Cuisine supper 64 oz water daily sugar free popsicle for snack I add sugar free fat free pudding mix (banana cream) to my shakes with crushed ice if I want to feel like I'm at Sonic and mix it in my bullet mixer I just bought and LOVE-- Renita
  18. Karen--maybe we can start a Smashing pumpkin POST OP thread to encourage each other as we all start our journey...also we could do the IM chats if we plan a time to all get on there..that would be cool. I notice some of us are online at the same times. Today is my first pre-op diet day although I have been doing a low carb high Protein diet for a few weeks now this is my "official" start day. Renita
  19. Thanks Karen..that is funny about warning everyone about possible "behaviors"-lol I am so with you on that!! My 14 year old daughter informed me she would be in her room the next two weeks! My mother-in-law was on Adkins once and she and my daughter went to the mall to shop...well my daughter came home saying "nana needs to eat some M & M's mom"..that was one of her favorites that she was doing without. It was funny because usually they have fun...but poor nana was in withdrawal. Good luck on the 9th. renita
  20. Loveislovely: I don't mind you using my smashing pumpkin date tag...especially since we have the same date:thumbup: Good luck to you. Renita
  21. Hey Smashing Pumpkins! I had my pre-op testing today..EKG,upper GI, bloodwork, gallbladder x-ray. It all went really well except drinking that chalky white stuff so they could see it on the x-ray. GROSS. Anyway, my results should be back by Monday Sept 29th the day I am supposed to start a mostly liquid Protein diet (10 days till surgery from that date) anyway, my question is I understand the reason we have to do all of the protein stuff after surgery but why is it so important before? Does it shrink the liver? I guess I can ask the doctor/nurse specifically but just curious if anyone here had an idea. I have never been one to read labels (obviously-lol) although now, I have been to see protein, sugars, carbs, fiber because of the great knowledge I have learned from fellow bandsters on what I need and what my "hurt" my success once I am banded October 8th. Thanks in advance if anyone can share about the pre-op protein..and it may already be posted somewhere on lapbandtalk but I haven't found it yet. Renita~
  22. TQUAD64, I haven't tried anythiing from this site...but your welcome for the tip...let me know if you try anything and I will do the same. As of now I am "stocked up" for my surgery pre and post but may need to get more stuff later on. Take Care, Renita
  23. Hello Everyone, I am pretty new here and will be having the lap-band October 8th :girl_hug: I was reading and searching online and came across a website called Bariatic Choice--has anyone tried any of the vitimans or protein supplements from this site? The prices didn't seem to bad for a "one stop shop".lol The link is below: Thanks,Renita www.bariatricchoice.com
  24. Don't forget me!! Renita- 10/8
  25. Hey! My surgery is set for the exact day as yours  My pre op is Sept. 25th so please post to let me know how yours goes on the 23rd! am so excited.. Renita
