Well my surgery was July 6th, completely recovered and feeling great. 20 Pounds down so far. Just about the end of the month for the July Surgery buddies. Hope everyone is doing well!

Good Morning! I'm new here. I had my gastric sleeve surgery on July 26. I'm having pains mostly on my right side, but nothing I can't push through. Still have occasional pain in my left shoulder but I think its getting better. I'm waking a total of 30 minutes a day, but broken up. I'm doing well getting my Water down but the Protein Shakes are hard. I'm ready for total healing to be complete. Thank you for letting me share.

Hi! New here. I had my surgery 7/13.

So far, so good. I’m home now. Surgery went well. I didn’t have a lot of pain just discomfort. Felt like I did a heavy ab workout the day before. My chest felt tight too, like I couldn’t get a big enough breath.
They had me on IV Tylenol and Toradol around the clock. My last dose was right before discharge today. I’ve only had Tylenol since I’ve been home. I’ve also been doing the incentive spirometry, which helps, but the most effective “treatment“ has been walking. I saw others say the same thing and it really does work!
I haven’t had any nausea, vomiting, or issues with drinking. They had me take a pre-op antiemetic and I was on Zofran around the clock. I have some oral Zofran for home if I need it.
I hope the rest of my July buddies have a good experience too! Good luck!

Hi all!
I have lurked for a long time, but I have my appointment with my surgeon tomorrow (July 12) and should be scheduling a surgery date. Hopefully before the end of this month, but maybe beginning of August. Trying to get it done before my daughter goes back to college so she can drive me since my husband has to work (saving vacation days for mandatory shutdown at Christmas).

I had my gastric bypass on July 6. Doing good getting my Protein in with the Clear Liquids but I'm struggling getting in my fluids.

I am 12 days post-op. They also allowed me to have sugar-free popsicles, Jello and pudding. That felt a little more substantial at times. Keep your eyes on the goal. They are shrinking your liver to make surgery easier. You got this!

Ok, surgery in about 3 hours!!!
I’m all packed, scrubbed with the pre op body wash and thirsty.

I'm a bit nervous, but more excited. I hope the pain isn’t too bad afterwards, but whatever comes, I’m 100% certain of my decision and looking forward to my journey onwards.

My surgery is scheduled for July25th at 730am!

Mine is 7/17 as well. I’m on day 6 of my pre-op diet and it’s a little rough but I’m staying strong. The weekend was much harder than the week days. Hope your process is proceeding well.

that was me! i didn’t even have nerves the day of like i thought i would. i think i was just so ready to start this thing lol

I am one week out today. I had my surgery last Monday. The worry and anxiety before were way worse than the past week has been. Today I feel really good.

Hi everyone - my surgery is actually tomorrow. For some reason I’m weirdly calm right now. Maybe the nerves will set in tomorrow?

Unfortunately my procedure isn’t until late in the day… lots of time to think…

I have my pre op appointment today. My surgery is scheduled for 26th. I’ve been cleared for my psych eval. I am self pay so I will be making my payments today. I can’t believe this is happening.

Tuesday for me! I just had my last bit of solid food, a spoon of Peanut Butter as my last snack. Per my dr, loading up on Tylenol ahead of time. Tomorrow is liquid only and my last day at work for 3 blessed weeks.
We have an hour drive after work, a ferry ride (I love ferry rides!) and then about 30 minutes to the hotel. I'm mostly packed, just deodorant, my tablet, and Kindle. Maybe a spindle for spinning yarn.

Remember it is worth it and follow doctors order afterward to a t to avoid unnecessary complications. I had bypass 7/5 and I'm sore but it's not horrible. Keep moving and work the gas out. Good luck on your upcoming journeys

I’m glad I’m not the only one reading and watching everything!
I said almost😂. Nearly every drink I used to have included caffeine. The headaches were awful, so I knew I needed to wean myself.
I’ll let you know how the vacation liquid diet goes. 😬 I can only imagine how the next vacation will be post surgery.

I had my surgery june 12th,2023
It is far from an easy journey but I can’t wait for the results !

I'm am giving some of my clothes to my pregnant daughter. Maternity clothes are very expensive so I let her raid my closet and drawers.

My center has a clothing swap. Maybe you can “trade” clothes while you’re losing so it doesn’t feel so wasteful??
