  1. Hi! I'm a belly sleeper! I sleep on my stomach all the time and have no problems. As for pills, I think that it all depends on how tight your band is. I have no problem taking pills, though I have tried a really big pill yet (there hasn't been a need for it). And vitamins, I take chewable vitamins. Like Cindy said...depending on what you take different meds for, if they are weight related, you should be able to eliminate some of them as you lose weight.
  2. I'm 3.5 years out and I starting having reflux bad the beginning of this year. I know that I should go see my doc, but can't seem to make it there yet.
  3. My band is 10cc's and I had the same problem! I'm now at about 8.5cc's and that's pretty much my sweet spot. sometimes I think that I need more, because I can eat some foods that I couldn't eat when I had less fluid in my band. I don't know why, but I can. You can definitely get more in before you reach your sweet spot, and when I say sweet spot I'm talking about when you're tight enough that you're not hungry all the time and losing weight, but you're also not throwing up your food. But I wouldn't go in asking for 2cc's you can ask for 1cc to see if that's tight enough for you.
  4. ok, thanks. sorry for breaking the rules.
  5. It's very good and healthy! I love it, because not only is it giving my body the extra vitamins that it needs as a weight loss surgery patient, but it's also giving me a ton of energy. It also helped me break my plateau last month and I'm still losing weight on it. I've been banded since Nov. 2008 and haven't made the best food choices along the way, so I still have a way to go before I reach my goal weight. If you'd like to try it, I will send you a sample. You can't by Shakeology in stores, it's only available through a Beachbody coach...which I am!
  6. My healthiest meal of the day is Shakeology! It contains almost a full days worth of vitamins and about 17grams of protein! It's delicious and not chalky like a protein shake!
  7. I feel the same way...like I'm a failure. I was banded 11/2008 and have lost 47lbs. I know it's my fault, because i make bad food choices, but I also figured out a way to eat past the band. Lucky for me, I haven't gained a pound back yet. So this is my starting point. I haven't posted on this site in over a year. Now I'm back for support. My band is almost filled to capacity right now, so I really need to stay focus and do what's right for me and follow through with the reason I decided to have surgery. So, you're not alone!
  8. I want the bug bad!! but can't afford it. Hopefully some people in my family will get the hint and pitch in to buy me one.
  9. Good Luck! Insanity is INSANE! I want to try the new workout that Beachbody sells, Turbo Fire. But my down stairs neighbors might blow a gasket! LOL! I can't wait to read your posts!
  10. I didn't get to do my workout today:frown:, but I'm planning on getting it in after I drop my daughter off at daycare tomorrow.
  11. ChaLean Extreme is a great workout series. It's nice, because the workouts are out 30 mins each and it's a 90 day program. The workouts are intense, but it's over before you get a chance to give up. You follow a calendar to know which disk you should move on to. I like the instructor, because she keeps you motivated. BeachBody sells the video. Here's the link to the website. Team Beachbody - Showcase
  12. I would like to join your group if you all don't mind. I haven't been on this site in over a year. I was banded 11/2008 and haven't really exercised until now, so I need something/people to help keep me motivated and accountable for the workouts that i miss. I started doing ChaLean Extreme and Zumba at home on Sunday. I love Zumba at the gym, but can't afford the membership, so i had to cancel it. ChaLean Extreme is pretty good, because the instruction keeps you very motivated. So, hopefully i'll be able to hold myself accountable with reporting my workouts and missed workouts here as welll as getting some motivation to keep going.
  13. Zumba is great! I love it! It's is hard to keep up as a beginner, but the more you do it, the better you get at it. It does burn up to 1,000 calories and works EVERY part of your body. It is a fun workout!
  14. Happy New Year everyone! I hope that 2009 brings you more happiness than previous years! We all have a great loss to look forward to!
  15. I am down 17lbs since being banded. I didn't have a pre-op diet, so I guess that's good considering I had no restriction.
  16. Hi all! I haven't visted this thread in a while. I was banded on 11/21 and had my first fill today. I have 4cc's in my band, so hopefully this will help with my hunger issue! I am feeling fullness with drinking just 4oz of liquid at a time. So woohoo! I hope it stays this way!
  17. It's funny how all docs are different. My doc told be 4oz of food at a time. He said that only 4oz can fit it there, but I can get about 1 cup of food in there. I try not to do that a lot for fear of stretching my pouch. I'll have to ask the nutritionist on the 30th when I go for my fill.
  18. I try to do the 1/2 cup of food that we're allowed, but sometimes I go a little over. I eat until I'm satisfied...but not full. It's been working for me. I didn't loose for about 2 weeks either and I stepped on the scale today and I'm down 4lbs this week.
  19. Woohoo! Glad it's working for you!
  20. I'm having chilli. I'm all about getting in as much protein as possible.
  21. I've had this problem since last week. I started using benefiber 3 times a day, becauase I didn't want to do a laxative or stool softner yet, and it has helped. Since our fiber intake in limited, we need the extra fiber and that's the way that I'm getting it.
  22. Are any of you sticking to the 1/2 cup of food that we're supposed to eat? Sometimes the 1/2 cup doesn't do it, especially when I eat soup and I end up eating a little more. At first, I wasn't thinking about stretching the pouch, but now I'm concerned and wondering if I have already done that. :rolleyes2: But I'm trying and it's a hard process. IDK if the food is just going through the band faster or what since I have no fill. I can't wait to get the first fill. The 30th can't come fast enough!
  23. My post-op diet was 1 week clear liquids, 1 week mushies and 4 weeks soft solids. at week 6, I will be on full solids. I can't wait for the first fill, which will be the 30th of December. I have no restriction what so ever and I'm always so hungry! I'm trying to fight it, because I don't want to PB and I'm scared of stretching my pouch.
  24. Thanks so much! I've been thinking about trying the special K protein water, but i'm affraid that I won't like it. How does it taste? Is it anything like protein shakes? I'm not a fan of protein shakes, that's why I'm asking. But I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who's stomach as developed a new "appetite!" LOL!
  25. I'm 2 weeks post-op today. I'm on mushies, but tomorrow i will be on soft foods. For some reason, an hour after I eat, I'm hungry again. When I say hungry....I mean my stomach growls and hurts! Am I the only one experiencing this? I think that once I get my first fill, that I'll be fine. But for now...I just want to eat because I'm so freakin hungry!
