Well never really had much of a weight problem until after I became a disabled veteran back in 1990. And even then it wasn’t that much until my disabilities became worse about 10 years ago. So when you go from super active to inactive it doesn’t take long for the pounds to stack up, and after trying just about every diet I had heard about I decided to get more drastic about a solution. I’m not sure maybe if you have always been blind you might feel one way, but if you have always been able to see and then become blind I think it’s a bit harder to deal with.
After much research of all possible solutions the Lap Band seems like the only logical solution. After beating my head against the wall for the last two years trying to get the VA to pay for it no such luck. Actually I just saw a report where the VA did a bunch of Gastric Bypass Surgeries. I think it was like 600 or more of them on disabled veterans. However, they didn’t feel it would extend their lives long enough to justify the cost. I was thinking what about the quality of life they have left? So this will be on my dime I had to sell my Hot Wheel 2001 VX which I hated to do, but I figured won’t do me much good if I’m dead!
So I am more than ready to get this party started! I figure the sooner I start the sooner I’ll be done. I can’t say I’m really looking forward to some parts of this whole new life plan, but for sure I’m looking forward to seeing my old body back once again! I have already been cruising the site and picking up some very useful information so thanks in advance.
