  1. They almost did a full hysterectomy when I had the c-section to rescue my son. They had the kit out and everything, but they decided to try to save my uterus...we'll see if their hard work paid off if I get pregnant and carry the baby fingers crossed hopefully we'll start trying for our second baby soon :tt1:
  2. I had the Paragard and it lessened my cramps. I loved having an IUD. I didn't have to think about it or anything.
  3. I was looking in the new In Touch magazine and they have an article in there about the Octuplet mom. They said something about her website and then they polled people: Nadya was accepting donations on her website. Would you give her money? 1 % said Absolutely, 5% said Maybe and the other 94% said never...I fall in the never area...lol Just thought I would share
  4. Thank you so much. My husband was deployed to Iraq 2 weeks after the birth of our son. We got the daddy doll before he left so that he could get his scent on it for our son. My husband came home for his R and R just in time for our sons surgeries and then he had to turn around and go back. A few weeks later his best friend lost his life to the war and a month after that my husband was shot leaving shrapnel in his hand. They took him to the "hospital" there are put on a bandaid and sent him back out to fight. My husband is my hero. We are high school sweethearts and he is the only man I have ever had concentual sex with. I love him and our son so much. I am very lucky to have such a strong man for a husband . He's been a great cheerleader through this LapBand process! He's great. Thank you for looking at our pictures! I am very proud of how far our son has come While I do believe in abortions...if they would have told me that my son would be born with these problems and that I could terminate...I wouldn't, in a million years. When I was pregnant I said no to the Amnio (They said it's a good thing I did because I probably would have gone into preterm labor and lost him) because it wouldn't have changed the way I felt for my baby. I wouldn't have aborted because the baby would have downs. I almost lost my life giving birth to my son who was technically born dead and I would do it all over again to see his wonderful smile! But not every woman would have felt this way...a lot of women would have seen him as deformed and may have aborted him...and they should have the right to do so...if that is what they feel would be right for them and their baby.
  5. None of my son's problems were genetic or caused by chemicals...My son was born missing muscles, he has a paralyzed vocal, half of his tongue is paralyzed he has a brain malformation, he lost a lot of blood when he was born he had to have infusions. None of my sons problems are fixable. He will have all these problems for the rest of his life. It sucks and it was hard to deal with alone. My son is home now, but unable to eat on his own. He will be two next month and he eats through a tube in his stomach. I don't blame anyone for what happened to my son...for a long time I blamed myself. I felt like I wasn't a good mother, that I was so unhealthy that I couldn't have a normal baby. I wanted a lot of kids...and now he may be all I will have (he is a wonderful little boy). Sometimes I feel incomplete. The doctors told me I may never have another baby. They told me that they were suprised that I carried him as long as I did...they told me if I try again, I may have numerous miscarries and I'm just not sure if I could handle that. I love my son and though I wish that things had gone differently, I wouldn't change him for any healthy baby in the world I love my son more than I have ever loved anything or anyone before and I am blessed to have him! You can check pics of him out on my myspace under my Jack folder www.myspace.com/HolliRodriguez Most doctors are shocked when they hear his problems. Most of them have not seen babies with problems like him before...he is my little boy and I love him with every inch of my heart :huh2: lol Thought I would just share a little...off topic sorry
  6. So if you were young as I was and raped by a family member as I was and became pregnant with a baby that that family member fathered...it still would not be right to have an abortion? You will never understand that, you will never understand the choice that I had to make, but that's okay. I made that choice because it was the best for me and the unborn child. My parents, being amazing parents, stood by my side through all of it. Holding my hand and telling em that I was doing the right thing. I know that I did the right thing and as I said before I would not change how I went about it! It was not my fault that it happened and my body was too young to carry a baby...
  7. If my son was so independant in the womb why did he not grow right? If my son was independently developing then why did he need my blood and my fluids to susstain his environment? If my son was so independent when he was born 2 months early then why did he need tubes and machines to allow him to survive for 4 months? Hmm...why did your "God" chose children like him and women like me to deal with something that horrible? Why at 20 was I expected by your "God" to watch my son suffer in the NICU for 4 months and then the PICU for another 2 1/2? Why out of all the women that smoked, drank and did drugs while they were pregnant...why did I have the baby with all of the problems and theirs were "perfect"? Hmmm...where was your "God" when I was raped and impregnanted by a family member? Let me tell you where he was...He was next to me holding my hand telling me that it would be okay. He was there watching over me making sure that I was okay. He was there to support me when I did something no girl my age should have had to choose...I made my dicission because it was the right one for me and for my unborn son...even your "God" was there, holding me and telling me that no matter what I did I was his child and he was there for me...to love me unconditionally the way he knew any father or mother should love their children. Let me tellyou something "God" was with me when I had a son that was born purple and bleeding to death. He was there for me as I watched my son being fed through a tube! He was there for me when I watched him suffer every hour of everyday for those first months...and he is still here with me in our sufferring. This "God"...this God that you are saying would be angered by things like that, would be angered by an abortion...was there holding my hand as I aborted my unborn baby that would have been related to me in other ways than a mother. It says it in the Bible that God is forgiving, God is all loving, God is our Father. If I pray to God and he gives me an answer that you don't think he should, then maybe you should take it up with God... It is the woman's life too. What if it would kill her? What if the baby would be a product of a rape, an underaged rape, and incestual rape? Huh? Does the mother not have the choice to do what is right for her? I made the choice that I made. To tell you the truth. If I had to do it again I would have done the same thing. It was right for me and it was right for my unborn. I'm sorry if you don't feel the same way, but you were not in my position and you were not in the position to have to think about abortion or adoption or just going through with it...When you have to stand in the shoes I stood in so long ago, then come to me and tell me how easy it was for you to make that choice!
  8. I know what you are saying. It's really really important to follow the plan that your doctor gave you. Mostly since you are having to have a lot of jello and popsicles when you are per/post op. Try your best to stick it out until after your surgery and then you can do sugar in moderation. Some people like Splenda...it makes me feel really sick. Sweet n low gives me a horrible headache...Equal and stevia are the ony ones that don't bother me...good luck
  9. I meant hurt, not kill. Look I am not here to say your wrong your wrong. I was just here to tell my story and my belief. I believe that abortions should be legal up to a point. I don't care if you share my views or not. I am not on here to be rude to people or to have people be rude to me. I answer your questions the best that I can and I do my best not to upset anyone on here, but it seems like that is all you are trying to do. No matter what you say my belief will still stand...can't we just be nice to each other? I am sorry if our views aren't the same...but your views hold just as much power as mine do...I don't think you are wrong or that your belief is wrong or stupid. I'm not on here to say your belief is wrong and here's why. I am just here to say what I believe and hear what others believe and what their view is on the subject. Please don't turn this into an I'm right your wrong arguement because under our own beliefs we are all right  Belief can be whatever I want it to be. Let's just say that my view, my standing, ...what I like to call my belief.
  10. That's just my belief...pastic surgery doesn't kill something or someone (unless something goes wrong). In late term abortions they are getting rid of a fetus that could have a chance to survive. This is just my belief and I am not trying to tell everyone that my belief is how it should be...Myself, personally I would never have an abortion past 18 weeks. I'm not saying that no one should have one later, I just couldn't do it.
  11. I said that plastic surgery shouldn't be limited. I also believe that 3-4 months into a pregnancy is enough time to make up your mind...If you are too scare to tell your parents that you got pregnant because you were having sex at the age of 14, 15, 16 then you have no business having sex. If it was a rape then I would understand that you may be scared and upset, but if you can't talk to your parents then who can you talk to (That's how I was raised at least)? Besides you can go to planned parenthoods and have an abortion for free. These doctors cannot tell your parents, it's a confidentiality thing. So, yes 3-4 months into a pregnancy seems like a reasonable amount of time to me to make up ones mind.
  12. lol I'm not saying that it should be limited I just think that surgeons should use better judgement then just a paycheck. I also think that they should have to go through a psych eval to insure that they aren't suffering from body dismorphic disorder or anything else that may cause them to get numerous operations, but in the end I guess it is their money and thier body...so my final answer is no it should not be limited. They are not hurting another human being, they are just messing with themselves...yeah...lol
  13. I don't really think a limit, but I think the surgeons need to stop at a point...like lets say a woman who has already had 5 nose jobs goes in for one more...should the surgeon do it just because she can pay or it? I think that there should be a limit on how many of each procedure you can have done unless it is a procedure to repair the procedure before it...that's crazy to have 5 nose jobs or numerous breast jobs...it's just crazy! lol
  14. I'm not saying limited, but when you are looking for help to raise children and getting government assistance, I think that you looks should not be the priority over your children...She gets food stamps and disability for 3 of her kids and she is on workman's comp...She is being an irresponsible mother
  15. Yeah...that sounds about right :rose:. I would assume that she would be able to make up her mind by then (unless she's in denial). I just find late abortions especially in the third trimester disgusting and sick...sad. Also I was reading about the lady that has 14 kids...did you see her nose job and fake lips...who's paying for that? She also had a freshly done french manicure, sounds like a few things a women on workmans comp and food stamos shouldn't be spending her money on, especially when she is living in her parents 3 bedroom home and getting loans to go to school...oh and begging people to send her money...sounds selfish to me...
  16. It was just a question thrown out there for whoever wanted to answer it...Just to whoever was listening :rose:
  17. The problem with that is most pregnancy tests don't say you're pregnant until you are about 4-6 weeks along and a lot of women don't find out until they're 8-10 weeks along...If a women found out at 8 weeks that she was pregnant, would you rather her have th abortion done right away or give it a few days or even a week to make sure that she's making the right choice?
  18. I just don't believe in late term abortions. I'm not saying the fetus (not baby, yet) is not a human. I'm sorry, but I don't think that abortion should be only if the mother will die. There are other reasons/needs to have an abortion. I think abortion should be legal until about 18 weeks. I don't think abortions should be allowed during the third trimester. I would not have an abortion because a baby would be inconvenient or because of a mistake I made. I know there are women that do, but not all women that have an abortion do it because they just don't want a baby...sometimes it's because they were forced into pregnancy/conception...maybe they used protection, but it failed...not all abortions are used as an oops...
  19. I'm not talking about viability based on medicine, I'm talking about viability based on the fetus, if it was born at home with no complications would it survive. Are you saying that I believe in abortion I have to believe in it all the way to 9 months? Personally I wouldn't have an abortion past 16-18 weeks. But if I were to have an abortion again I would do it as soon as I found out I was pregnant, although I would only do it again if I was in the same position. I mean yeah at 23 weeks a baby can possibly survive if we breath for it and hook it to everything we've got, but that doesn't mean it's viable at birth.
  20. I think her and her doctor were irresponsible in all of this! The doctor implanted 6 embryos when they should have only implanted 2-3! She shouldn't hang for what she did, but she should lose her works comp and her assitsance...she did this to herself and she should not, now, be begging for help from people...she made her bed and now she should lay in it...alone!
  21. I just want to say something about this. When I had my son and the doctors told me that he was dying and had an hour left to live...I felt nothing. When they took me in to see his body as they worked on him, fighting to save his life. I still felt nothing. They first time I got to hold my son (3 days after he was born)...I felt something. Your body and you mind have a way of protecting your heart/you emotions. Just because you never saw her cry doesn't mean she didn't. Some people feel they have to be strong in front of others, some feel that when someone else is crying they have to be strong and comfort them...a lot of people would rather cry in private, where they don't have to worry about people trying to comfort them and saying that it will be alright because you don't know if it will be alright...sometimes you just need to go in a room alone and cry...really cry! Up until the point that the fetus is viable (I believe that is around 26-28 weeks).
  22. Maybe for a second you can stop assuming that all prochoicers believe in late term abortions! I believe in abortions up to a point, but not that far along! She did seek an abortion, but as was said before she sought that help a little too late! It is not okay to kill the baby once it is out of the birth canal because it is now viable and breathing oxygen...it is crying it is a baby. When you are in early stages of pregnancy the baby is not viable...if born it would most likely not survive...
  23. Don't be sorry...I'm still young and sometimes don't let what I'm reading sink in all the way before responding. I see what you are saying though. It said that they were going to do an autopsy to see if the baby was living when it was thrown in, but she admitted that the baby had a heart beat and was breathing when she had it...It just blows my mind the things that people will do...I wish that actions like this would be a wake up call to others, but it's just like every summer when people leave their babies in the hot car...they never think it will happen to them...drives me crazy!!!
  24. No I wasn't trying to rationalize her actions at all...I guess I was just trying to think that she didn't see the baby as trash, but in all likely hood she probably did at that point...like I said before I would just like to believe that no one is that heartless (even though I know they are)...I didn't say anything about unwanted children being abused or anything like that. I was wanted and I got my assed kicked until I was 16 and willing to fight back. It's just sad that this young lady felt that she had no other route to go...like she thought that was her only way out...I wish more people knew about safe havens...
