  1. I have trouble with anything except liquids in the morning. My band seems to prefer coffee until about 2 or 3 pm. Anyone else having the same problem?

    I threw up...Not a PB.

I had an episode of projectile vomiting and ended up with a huge hiatal hernia and I had to have hernia repair & band revision. I had PB'd before but nothing like the vomiting. I had been too tight and had been deflated a couple of times. Anyway, it wasn't pretty, and I will be more careful about all the signs that I was warned about.

    slipped band

When I went in to the Dr. he could tell by looking at the fluoroscope as he was giving me a fill. I had gotten over the sick, throwing up deal the day before. i had been having a lot of trouble with reflux off and on for several weeks, though.

    slipped band

My band has slipped and I'd appreciate any input from anyone that's had that happen to them. I'm supposed to stay on foods that I don't have to chew for 3 weeks and see if it corrects itself. I had a feeling that I have been too tight for a while and have been deflated twice, the last time I saw the doctor, he put in .5 cc and I thought I might be OK. I had some violent vomiting one afternoon and guess that might be the reason for the slippage. Share any info you have. Thanks

    Special K Protein Drinks?

I didn't care for the strawberry ones. I've not tried the other flavors.
  9. Hurrah for deflation! My band was too tight for several weeks-couldn't eat solids, couldn't drink my coffee,even-and had heartburn at night. I was losing well so I put it off and was miserable. Finally, I went in and had a little saline taken out and I am fine and still losing weight. Lesson learned.

    Band-friendly restaurants

Thanks for the good info. I was at Cracker Barrel this am and they very nice about me ordering off the kid's menu. I'm looking forward to going to the other places and getting a more reasonable portion. Maybe the waiters won't come by and ask me"Is everything alright?" if I don't look so overwhelmed at this giant plate of food! The bad part is, I could haven't eaten the WHOLE THING before my band. Unbelieveable!
  11. Do any you in the DFW area know which restaurants are band-friendly? I understand if it is against policy to let an adult order off the kids menu, but it sure would be nice to order small portions. I'm not crazy about taking food home and sometimes not in a position to do so. I would appreciate your input.
  12. I love to read your posts. You have the best ideas. I'm having so much trouble thinking of something that might even sound like something I might want to eat. My appetite certainly isn't what it used to be. Keep the good tips coming-I always learn something from you.

Not liking foods after eating them

I know what you mean. I have a problem thinking of something that might taste good enough just to get the protein in. Fast food burgers are not even tempting-the meat consistency feels weird, besides tasting bad.

    Extreme coughing

Recently, I had an upper respiratory infection. While all the other symptoms subsided, a really bad cough hung around. I've coughed so hard that I really wondered if that could damage my band. At night I would have coughing fits and produce a lot of mucus. Yuck! Any input of how to handle this problem would be greatly appreciated.
