  1. I start my week long liquid diet tomorrow, I'm excited because that means only a week tell surgery, but of course I'm still nervous.... here we go
  2. I had to quit sowing too, it's hard, and idk about your doc but mine said if my nicotine level was above a certain amount she would cancel the surgery.... I went on Amazon looking for non nicotine cigarettes, and found southern tipps red, they are tobacco and nicotine free, so I don't get the nicotine but I get the hand to mouth habit I crave..... another thing might be getting a vape juice, or pen with no nicotine or even cbd [emoji848]
  3. Did you already have surgery or still coming up?
  4. I was curious because I haven't hear anyone mention it on here anywhere, and I was going to ask my doctor next visit, but wanted to see if anyone had one, or not, if it helped, or if they were fine without it. Thank you for your reply:)
  5. Post Surgery was anyone given or instructed to use a abdominal binder after sleeve surgery??
  6. I thought so since you started your 2 week pre op today.... im in oregon, so probably not the same hospital lol, but definitely excited to find someone on the same day
  7. Can I ask what day is your surgery? Mine is the 26th
  8. This is something I came across that I thought might be helpful to some, it's a video with a beriatric sergon explaining the possibility of "foamies" after surgery.... he also has a lot of other videos people might find helpful so i thought id share
  9. Is there anyone going threw beriatric surgery with ohsu in oregon, either the Portland or beaverton location?
  10. I'm so excited I was just set for September 26th surgery, I start my liquid diet with one meal a day on the 19th... has anyone ever done a last meal type thing a day or two before?? My friend wants to take me out so I can have my "last" meal so I can "eat whatever" but idk if that's an OK thing to do or not
  11. I was feeling that way, I did alot of research, and also looked up beriatric on Amazon just to get a feel for what was out there, they have alot of beriatric foods, and drinks that have protein in them, I ended up ordering some of the premier protein flavored water drinks, and the protein drinks and I like them both, I also got some of the soups as well, I wanted to try a few things out ahead of time because I know I have to do a week liquid preop diet, then 2 weeks full liquid post op then the 3rd week postop I can start to have things like pudding, and such, and they have alot of soft foods with protein in it to. It's been keeping me busy as well as making me feel prepared to deal with the diets because I've tried several things and found stuff I do like, now I don't feel like it's going to be horrible [emoji854]
  12. Yes I forgot about those but I actually ordered some the other day, along with the soups and some unflavored protine powder "Isopure Unflavored Whey Isolate Protein Powder" it's the one that was recommended the most to me for adding into other things such as soups , other drinks, broths, pudding ect .... but I was told of its going into a cold like pudding or something dissolve it into a few oz of warm water first to keep from getting a giddy texture or add it in when making pudding
  13. I'm a planner too, I don't have a date yet, but was told ud get a call in the next 2 weeks and my surgery would be set 3 weeks out .... but I've already bought stuff, I like the premier as well, I found fruit drinks by them on Amazon too, as well as protine soups and puddings and such, type in beriatric must haves, alot of stuff pops up that we might not need need, but some I think will be very helpful...
  14. Usually a prescription of chantex or welburtron (don't know if that spelled right, Also I got a prescription for chantex it stopped your body from recognizing nicotine, and so you go threw withdrawal while smoking so some find it easier that way ... but I did that, then switched to southern tip "cigarettes" you can find them on Amazon they are a tobacco and nicotine free cigarette, helps me alot when I feel the need to smoke, and still be nicotine free, because the issue they have is with the nicotine not the smoking it's self ( I asked lol) and my friend who went threw beriatric surgery was excited they said no smoking but didn't say no chew, then they corrected it to inform him no nicotine, so no chew, cigarettes, or vape that contains nicotine
