  1. To RestlessMonkey and all who gave advise and cared... I had gotten my fill on the 14th and that was when i was thinking it was too much cuz of the pain but i called my doc like you all advised and he said he thought i had too much so i went in today the 21st (an exact week later) and i have lost 13.2 pounds in this past week so i was happy bout that but i knew it was cuz my band was too tight so he took .2cc's so, so far even though its only been a few hrs i think i can tell a difference but thanks for everyones advise and ill keep you all updated.
  2. Ok heres whats going on and maybe some of you will be able to help me determine wheather my band is too tight. Well i can swallow liquids and food but i dont want too cuz theres a sharp pain as it goes down my band. Liquids i can feel go down in a short amount of time but i still have the pain. Solids on the other hand I'm chewing very well and i still have the pain (even mashed potatoes) but i have to wait longer for it to go down and its very uncomfortable theres a sharp pain and it makes me not want to eat or drink anything at all. I get so uncomfortable because of the pain that i cant focus on what ppl are saying and i become very annoyed. I have thrown up a couple of times but for the most part im able to keep it down its just very uncomfortable. Is this normal? Is this the way lap band works? I really appreciate everyones feedback. Thank you all! HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS???
  3. Thank you all so much for the info. RestlessMonkey, Its been going on ever since this last fill on 1/14/09 thats why i was thinking my band might be too tight cuz it only started after that. Stormwind, I did take the water test but i didnt experience that pain then. I got the pain a few hours later when i took my first drink after getting the fill. Has anyone else experienced this???

  5. THANK YOU ALL SOOO MUCH FOR THE INFO AND HELP!! nazzy- I only eat 2 times a day and i stay around 800 cals for the whole day and i walk 2 miles 6 days a week.
  6. ok... ummm, Today was my fill appt and i was weighed and well my highest weight was 429.2 and that was on 7/31/08. My surgery date was 8/26/08 and now on the day i was supposed to get my first fill (10/8/08) i weigh 371.2 so thats a total of 58 lbs even lost and my doctor wouldnt give me a fill. I'm upset, is this normal to get rejected for a fill? I was so upset i didnt even hear the reason of him not giving me a fill can anyone tell my why? I know 58lbs is good but i wanted a fill cuz i have NO restriction at all also so i could have a sense of fullness and to loose even more weight. Should i be upset or worried? Is this normal not to get your first fill?
  7. THANK YOU both for the encouragment. It really does mean ALOT!!!
  8. Hmmm... ok, where to start. I had to do a 30 day liquid diet before surgery (most ppl only do 2 weeks but had a very precocious doctor.) And in that 30 days i lost a wopping 37.2 lbs. Sounds amazing i know but i really did do my only all liquid diet and i walked 30 min. 6 days a week. 15 days after surgery (sep. 15) i had my post op appt. and i find out i gained 2 lbs back and im still walking 6 days a week but ive now progressed to food but im still keeping that under 1000 cals a day. Now my doc says thats normal cuz i went 30 days no food then suddenly im eating again and my body is recooperating from surgery. Its now sep. 24 but i havent weighed since my post op appt so i dont know how ive done laitley. I'm just scared... is this normal??? Will it all be different when i get my fill scheduled on oct. 8??? Im just sooo scared !!!
  9. AliNSanDiego- THANKS FOR THE PICS  RestlessMonkey- THANKS FOR THE INFO, YEAH I THINK WE GOT A GOOD ONE! :frown:
  10. Hi all! My name is Amber and I was banded on 8/26/08. I didnt know there was different types of bands but when I found out I called my Doctor and the nurse said I had a AP large that holds 14cc's. Does anyone know anything about this band? Is it new? I would love to be able to see a picture of this band so if anyone has a pic please post a link. THANKS A BUNCH!!!
  11. Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well!!! I was banded on August 26th! BEST OF LUCK TO ALL!
  12. OMG OMG!!! I swear to you thats my goal! Ive been telling my husband and parents for the longest time i just want to go to six flags soooooo bad! When i get down to a better size ima go too! My dad and i were talking about it and we just started crying and he was like baby girl ima ride all the rides with you and we're gonna have the best damn time! Ive just been itching to go so bad! As a matter of fact ima make 250 my goal as well! I'll keep you updated!!! let me know how it goes for you please!
  13. I'm with vsnowrn and RestlessMonkey. I was banded on 8/26/08 6 days ago and i have no restriction what so ever.I actually feel like i dont even have a band even though i know i do. I mean, I was on a liquid diet 30 days before surgery and now 7 days after surgery (which means 1 more day till pureed... YAY!) but currantly i can drink a tomato soup at hand and when im donei can feel a lil full effect but i think thats only cuz i might be a tiny tiny bit swollen or maybe its just in my head. So i really dont have restriction now and i was worried about that but your the total oposite of me. WOW its so wierd how people react differently. But ifit bothers you that much then you should really have a good talk with your doctor. Keep your head up though, we ALL face challenges there just all different ones.
  14. I am only 6 days post op so im still on the liquid diet but i dont understand that either well i do understand the no water after eating but not the before part cuz the liquids should go right down right? or you would think so. But my doctor wants 30 min no liquids before you eat and 30 min no liquids after you eat. I guess ill just have to see when i get to that point.:confused::laugh:
